They did complete the locks requested. But the guy was unfriendly. He only had two key copies available. When I asked again for five, I got four. He took my original key, so I'm out of a key for three of my doors with standard knob lock and bolt lock. Payment was by credit card, where he asked for a license id. I said no. I've never had that credit card issue in my own home. Billing was overpriced at just over $1300 for the job I disliked. He said I got a discount I never received of a total down to $895. Needed a smartlock installed. I went with Abi Locksmith because he gave me an over the phone estimate and was very nice. Other locksmiths I called needed to come to my house and assess the lock and door which was inconvenient for me. David the business owner sent Eli G. to my house for the installation. I locked my keys in my own trunk and looked to yelp to find help. I called and reached David he said he could be there in 30 minutes and it would be $85. I accepted and he did call twice, I'm guessing because I did call at 6:15pm he got stuck in traffic. That is quite understandable. He did call another time to keep me informed of him definitely coming and he was sorry it was taking so long. When he got there he opened it quickly and even gave me a $10 discount for it taking so long. I appreciated him doing that. Start to finish it did take 55 minutes total. I needed some locks rekeyed and David, Abi's father, came to do the job. There were a number of locks and he estimated a 1.5 hour timeframe. Due to the corrosion on the locks, however, it took him 4 hours to rekey and replace the locks. Despite the length of the job, the pouring rain, and the heat, he was just as pleasant during hour four as he was during hour one. When I called him back regarding a lock issue, he came back the following day only to discover that it was my error with the keys. He gave me no grief for going out of his way. Abi Locksmith charges a $25 call fee, which other companies do not, and I thought their prices were a little high in comparisons to their competitors. However, given the amount of work David did and the quality of the work, the value was excellent. David gave me options and recommendations but he didn't try to convince me to spend more money, which I appreciated. This is a small family business that clearly prides itself in doing a great job.
