I couldn't be happier with the work Pedro and the team at Gomez Home Services did for me…read more I reached out to Pedro and asked if he could come by the same day to provide an estimate. Even though it was short notice, he made time for me, which I really appreciated. After looking at the project, they were able to start the very next day. The drywall repair work was outstanding. They worked quickly, professionally, and the finished result exceeded my expectations. The repairs blended seamlessly with the existing walls, and you would never know there had been damage there. On top of the quality workmanship, the price was very fair. It's not often you find a contractor who is responsive, reliable, does excellent work, and charges a reasonable price, but Gomez Home Services checked every box. I will absolutely hire them again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for drywall repair or home improvement work.

We have worked with Jose Madrid on multiple projects over several years, and I honestly cannot say…read moreenough good things about him and his team. Years ago when I was looking for someone, I read the reviews closely, and some folks wrote some great and 100% true stuff about Jose (who also owns Madriz Tree Services), so I'm here to pay it forward. Our first project was a big one: we needed a large tree removed because the roots were actively damaging not just the sidewalk, but the street itself. Jose and his team did a beautiful job removing the tree, repairing the sidewalk, and fixing the road. The root structure was massive, and yet, three years later, nothing has popped back up through the sidewalk or street. Since then, we've hired Jose for several additional projects. He repaired our front stairs with a design that was clean and perfectly matched the aesthetic of our house. He also removed an old fireplace and seamlessly repaired the flooring. Whatever wood and technique he used, it genuinely looks like the fireplace was never there. Most recently, Jose built us a stunning, high-end spa bathroom. It includes a beautiful sauna and an integrated electronic system that controls heat and music. (He actually invited us to visit another open house where he had built a similar sauna and we appreciated being about to see and touch it all first.) Throughout the entire process, Jose was incredibly communicative. He sent regular updates and photos, flagged issues early, and when we needed to make decisions, he sent us thoughtful options and walked us through the pros and cons. The final result clearly reflects both our preferences and his design expertise. It's beautiful. One thing that really stands out about Jose is his attention to detail and problem-solving. For example, during the tree removal, he noticed damage to some underground pipes. He stopped the concrete work, coordinated the pipe repair, fixed it properly, and only then completed the job. He's knowledgeable across multiple areas, and when unexpected issues come up (which they always do in older homes), he knows how to handle them. For context, we live in a small California bungalow built in 1915, so surprises are part of the package. Jose consistently worked with what the house gave us and found solutions. It's worth noting that Jose is in high demand, so projects can take time. That said, the quality of his work is stellar, and for us, it has always been worth the wait. I would 100% recommend Jose for anything from tree removal and concrete repair to high-end interior renovations. His expertise, responsiveness, communication, and final craftsmanship are all excellent - and it pricing was highly competitive!

He also completed two bathroom remodels, relocated water heaters, and navigated structural challenges with what felt like magical skill--consistently problem-solving and finding solutions that were both functional, beautiful and to code. Throughout the entire process, Alex and his team were an absolute joy to have around. After hearing so many contractor horror stories, we feel incredibly lucky to have found someone like Alex. He's the real deal. His craftsmanship is top-notch, and in the rare case something is outside his expertise, he has a network of highly skilled professionals across the Bay Area to call on. One of the things that really set Alex apart was how budget-conscious he was. Not only was his pricing much more affordable than other contractors we spoke with, but he also helped us find the best deals on high-quality materials--thanks to his many years in the business and strong industry connections. We felt like he was always looking out for our best interests. Alex is not only extraordinarily talented, but also kind, respectful, funny, and genuinely pleasant to be around. He's one in a million. This has been a complete nightmare. At the beginning of October Alex replaced the counters in my…read moresmall kitchen. We had many discussions about the kind of counter I wanted including that it should be heat and stain resistant. He assured me in writing that the counters he was acquiring for me were just that. he quoted me and I paid him $5000 to install the counters which took him about two and a half days. He left all the debris from the old counters in my front yard (even though he assured me he would remove them the day after the work was done where it sat for two weeks before I paid to have it removed. After three weeks I started to notice stains appearing on the counters (which were not from any specific food or liquid) which would not go away no matter what I used to clean them. I let Alex know and it took him quite a while to come and look and he told me this has never happened before and he would talk to the supplier. We are now into the fourth month of me attempting to get him to take care of this and he is currently ignoring all my messages and not taking care of it. He said that the supplier are saying it's not their fault and he is telling me that it's not his fault purely because he has installed dozens of these counters over the years and this has never happened and because of that he refuses to take responsibility. I highly recommend NOT using this person for your renovations no matter how many other good reviews he has because at the end of the day he is not honorable and takes no responsibility for poor workmanship - of which there is plenty as shown in the photos. This was a lot of money for the size and scope of work and I paid him because he came highly recommended and I assumed he would do a good job. My main gripe is that he has pretty much ignored me for the most part and does not stand by the work he does. Happy to share all the correspondence between us with anyone who is considering using him so you can see how poorly he has behaved and save yourself a big headache.
