The people here are so nice and kind. They're a small local business with delicious pastries, food and drinks! I'm addicted to their cookies. I can't remember what the cookies are called but its our favorite! The atmosphere is very inviting. There's some seating indoor and indoor or you can take it to go! Give them a try!!

Staff is great they will make you smile and add energy to your day. Sandwich & drink were tasty, they had WiFi, a view of the street, and are closely located to Berkeley. Great option for a cafe

WHEN: Thursday @9:30am PARKING: Metered Street parking for like $2/hour if I remember correctly. There was a decent amount at this hour. A friend and I wanted to do breakfast nearby the daycare she dropped her baby off that lasted for a little over and hour. There's all sorts of options here so it looked promising! There's both seatings indoor and outdoor, but quite limited. Here's what we shared: GREEN DREAM SMOOTHIE - 24oz - $7.25 Avocado, Spinach, Banana, Plain Yogurt. Pretty good to me! No complaints. VEGGIE QUESADILLA - $11 Black Bean Spread, Spinach, Zucchini, Bell Peppers and Mozzarella on Flour Tortilla. Cut into 4 sections, it also comes with a tiny side salad. I really enjoyed this and knowing its packed with veggies made me feel good. SPECIAL BREAKFAST CROISSANT - $10.75 Avocado, Arugula, Bacon, Scrambled Eggs, Chipotle Aioli and Cheddar Cheese. This hefty sandwich may need to be eaten with a fork and knife because things might fall out trying to eat like a sandwich. It's really good and comes with 2 tiny orange slices. The staff I thought were very friendly and the prices were very reasonable. Definitely a great spot for students in the area.

Random spot on northside that I'd never tried before, so I finally decided to swing by during my last 2 months of college. I was pleasantly surprised! I tried the steak sandwich, which was warm and super flavorful! The seasoning set it apart from other sandwiches, which just taste like deli meat and mayo most of the time. I came back once more to try the breakfast burrito, which I liked even more. The burritos are huge! I ordered it with the pineapple pork sausage, which was slightly sweet and so flavorful! Highly recommend.

Abe's is a cute lil spot to grab delicious food, fresh juice, smoothie or coffee to go. There are also a few small tables inside and out. Great jazz music plays from the speakers. There's a deli case where you can find tasty sweet treats. Their breakfast burritos are yummy, and grilled perfectly; the smoothies are super fresh! The guy at the counter is very helpful too.

The food is absolutely delicious! I came for a quick breakfast and I got my burrito within 5 mins. Inside was so cute, but seating looked limited. The workers greeted me with such positivity before and after ordering. Overall, a wonderful environment with great food!

Oh damn. The tamales are for real. Try the spinach and cheese. Also, prepare yourself for a very kind, friendly proprietor.

A true hidden gem right at the bottom of Solano Ave in Albany!…read more I'm embarrassed to admit that Picnic has been around for about 5 years in the east bay and I've just tried it for the first time this week. But I'm so glad I was finally introduced to it. The staff greet you promptly when you enter and you can even watch them work effortlessly together in the open prep-station behind the counter. They have a gorgeous display of deli items, wines, cheeses, cold sides, and even some cute candles & house made croutons. They've got everything you would need for an elevated picnic or even a barbecue with the family. They have an intriguing selection of house made sausages-- the Chicken Tikka Masala sausage caught my eye and I can't wait to try it. They also sell whole smoked quail that are seasoned heavily yet each bite has just the right amount of smokiness, spices, and salt. Their hot food items and sandwiches are perfect for a quick lunch during your break from work or on your way home. There are also a few counter seats if you want to enjoy your meal there. So far I've tried the smoked quail, the Muffaletta sandwich, and their green lentil soup with chicken + veg. The sandwich was filled to the brim and each bite was a flavor bomb. The lentil soup was very comforting & paired well with the smoked quail. I'm looking forward to trying everything they have to offer.

I really wanted to love this place. Very small and quirky, limited menu. I'm not really a "salad is…read morea meal" person, although my two best friends are. They were very happy with their arugula salads. I ordered the mac n cheese which was okay. Even though I grew up in El Cerrito, I sometimes feel like my NorCal green card has expired. I've lost touch with my small batch, organic self. (Although I have never liked arugula) This store is adorable and just the kind of independent neighborhood place that should be frequented and appreciated. Unfortunately I also had to use the bathroom and they don't have one for customers. So they recommended walking a block away to the BevMo. So I guess that added some negative feelings.
