I needed a battery and my neighbor had bought one from this place, so he took my old one (very old) and got a replacement. It was for an old (1971) VW so it's difficult to find the right battery---it has to fit under the rear seat. I've had the battery from Abe's for over a year, possible closer to two. When something works, you don't worry about it. I let the battery run down and I've called Auto Club to get a charge but if the battery needs to be replaced, I know where I'll go. Any the friend who recommended them (and picked this battery up for me)? His battery is still doing fine. read more

Came here because I simply needed air in my tires because one of them was low. I was charged $20 just for putting air in my tires, which is already outrageous. Charging $20 for something as simple as air is absolutely ridiculous. What made the situation even worse is that they removed one of my tires without my knowledge or without disclosing to me that they were going to do so. I never asked them to remove a tire. I came in specifically because I needed air. They also tried to get me to buy tires, which I declined. After I said no, the employee, Ovidio, appeared visibly upset. When I told my boyfriend what happened, he was upset and called the shop to ask about it. Ovidio then claimed that I had asked him to take the tire off. Why would I come in asking for air in my tires and then specifically ask them to remove one of my tires? That makes absolutely no sense, especially when I never requested that service. Instead of acknowledging what happened, they are now claiming that I requested an additional service that I never asked for. I know what I went there for, and it was simply to put air in my tire because it was low. The entire experience left me feeling like I was being taken advantage of, would not recommend this place. Be very careful about what services they perform and make sure you know exactly what you are being charged for before allowing them to work on your vehicle. read more

Incredibly nice and helpful. Checked the status of my battery and explained everything. Thank you!

It's a good alternative to buying new. Give him a call he is no BS. Tells you price and options on the spot

Service is prompt and the tech here knows what he's doing and what products to recommend. This is a small place and generally has what you need, and can get it if not in stock, prices are good and definitely more affordable than normal retail stores. If you're on a budget and need a battery without all the fancy stuff, this is your place. Don't let the humbleness or area scare you away. I've bought several kinds of batteries and stopped in for advice a few times and it's always great service. read more

Great guy, great price, great service, I'll be back. Oh, and they have a 6 month warrant!

I went looking for battery at this place but found out the business has moved. They have a banner that gave the new location address. It's located at 810 San Fernando Rd. about half a mile up the road past home Depot on your right side at the corner of Carlton and San Fernando. read more

I will give this place 5 stars because of the prices! I took a risk and purchased a $40 battery despite some of the reviews I've read, and so far so good. I would recommend for a guy or girl like me, no kids, mechanically inclined millennial ... not sure if I'd send my mother or pregnant wife here... the place has a very bottom of the barrel you get what you pay for vibe... all and all... i called 9 places before this one and the prices ranged from 90-160 , from big names places like auto zone to, junk yards and even other places that only sell car batteries, this place I saved money. I did not have an old battery to trade in as someone helped themselves to it, so taking Uber there and back and not getting the old battery rebate of $12, I still saved a about 40% compared to other places !! Bottom line, if you are looking for a no quirks cheap battery, this is your place read more

DO NOT DO BUSINESS HERE In a moment of desperation I stopped here and purchased a used battery with a 6 month warranty for $40 that would be a good deal if the battery worked. 3 weeks later my car was needing to be jumped constantly I took it back only for the very rude worker to tell me it was my fault and I must have left something on to have the battery keep dying on me. They hesitated to even charge it for me, I left my battery there for a few hours to charge and the next day my car wouldn't start. Don't waste your time or frustrate yourself with these assholes. These guys just recycle scrap batteries and rip off people cause once you've paid up they are not held responsible for their product. Buyer Beware! read more

Abe's Battery Service - These are Abes Prices, no kidding !! - Battery Stores Near Me - Los Angeles, California

Remanufactured batteries are cheap here. I purchased my last three batteries here for my beater car. The first one lasted three years; the second one lasted a year and a half, and the last one lasted one month. I brought my last battery back, since it wouldn't recharge, after I recharged it once. The worker there said it was a good battery because the voltage was high. I took it to O'Reilly's and they said there was a bad cell. Rudy here told me they lied to me and just wanted me to buy a new battery. I took the battery to Auto Zone, and they told me it was a bad cell as well. Neither O'Reilly or Auto Zone tried to sell me a battery. The people here are not bad people. They are nice and try to help. However, they won't honor their warranty. Simple as that. Once you buy a battery here cheap, you're on your own. If it lasts three years, you scored; if it lasts a month, you're out of luck. I don't think I'll take that chance anymore. read more

Charged me more than the price on the board and made an excuse saying my battery is a special battery that's why it's $10 more then gave me a battery that won't lock down and told me it was going to be ok then only to find out that they blew out the fuse to my power outlet but NOT admitting that they blew it , owner made all kinds of excuses that it's not there fault and that it was my fault even though it was working when I arrived there , VERY DISAPPOINTED ! Also noticed the for sale sign on their building, must be going out of business for the bad customer service they provide! read more

Great service from Rudy. They even check your system for free. Can't go wrong with that. Will definitely send friends here read more

This place is crooked! I purchased a battery from them and exactly one month later it stopped working and wouldn't hold a charge. They sold it to me with a 6 month warranty and wouldn't honor it when I brought the battery back in for an exchange. They said that my car was the problem. But it's not. I just bought a battery from auto-zone and it works just fine. The gentleman at the the counter was very defensive when I asked for them to honor the warranty and fed me so many BS excuses. Tested and replaced my battery in under 10 minutes. The battery is of great quality and I haven't had any issues with it. The brain of my car didn't require reprogramming of the features after replacing the battery. And the owner is lgbt friendly. I wasn't made to feel uncomfortable at all. Highly recommend this place 1000%. read more

This place is a total rip off! Be sure if you purchase a battery at this place make sure that they are putting one in that has their label on it. They will put a raggedy ass battery in your car and after a couple of weeks you'll have to keep getting jumps. When you take back the battery they will say that it doesn't belong to their company and that you switch out the battery. A total scam!!!!! Talking to whom I believed to be the owner said that he just managed the place . I think he was lying. I asked him to play back the tape to see me coming in to purchase the battery he then began to say oh the cameras are dummy's and they really didn't work. The older man that worked there was the one that put in the battery. Extremely rude and nonchalant.. He was a total liar and sad he checked the battery before he put it in , he did not!!! I just want everyone to know that this place is Garbage and to beware!!!!!! I wouldn't give them on star but you have to to post!!! read more
