Excellent service! My salmon must have been farmed - my fault I should have asked but over all the service, atmosphere and my mother in laws meal looked great and she said it was amazing.

Golden Hour

First time visiting this restaurant and it was fabulous. Me and my party sat on the patio which was lovely especially when the lights came on. I tried three different drinks and the Golden Hour was my favourite! The corn fritters were the best appetizer we had followed by the charcuterie. We heard the hummus was so good. But it was our least favourite item. It was different, it was like a pumpkin hummus. But to be honest if that is the worst thing on the menu and it wasn't bad... you know the food is really good. Got my main course I had the Aberdeen burger which was great and I appreciate that they cook it medium. Our wait staff was great. I have zero complaints about this place. It was a great first time for me! I can't wait to go back!

Crab cake

Cute spot for brunch! It's a pre fixe menu with 2 courses for $30. I had the crab cake to start + the eggs benny. The crab cake was great with a crispy breading atop a tomato sauce with greens. The eggs benny were pretty standard. Atmosphere and vibe were great. Service was good and coffee was hot.

this place gets a 5 from me because I LOVE the detail and ambiance of the place, its romantic and classy for celebrating those special occasions or a romantic date night. the food is fresh tasty and delicious! Ive been to this place a couple times and do want to return but not sure how it is now that Covid restrictions are in place, Im guessing reservations would be wise now. that being said I def would return fYI the photos I shared are 2015

Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast and a side of home fries

Came here after receiving an equal parts gift card so I had a choice between Aberdeen Tavern, the French and the Diplomat. I had heard that Aberdeen tavern was the best place to go to for brunch and boy do I agree. Upon arriving it was pretty busy and I had not made reservations but thankfully I was with a friend so we got placed at a side table. We decided to split the Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast along with some Home fries. The cheesecake French toast was absolute heavenly, every bite was perfect and it wasn't too sweet. The home fries was decent but wasn't incredibly special! The service also very good and quick!

Turkey Benny!

Aberdeen Tavern has always been on my Yelp or IG but I was always too lazy to actually make the trek across town to try it. However, as I got into my brunch phase it definitely looked promising. At my first visit I was served by Des and she was terrific. She suggested items on the menu and they turned out amazing. I got the Cheesecake Stuffed French Toast. This is a great way to start off your morning! However, it does get really sweet so I suggest splitting with someone as you really CANNOT finish the whole thing solo. My friend got one of their sandwiches and she LOVED IT. She's been asking me to go back ever since. On my 2nd visit. I got the the French Toast a second time and shared a Turkey Benny (that was their weekend special then) with my boyfriend. Both dishes were amazing and our server who worked the bar while we ate was amazing. Overall, this is a great place to try for brunch. The price is fair for the quality they serve and on par with the other brunch places of Hamilton. I was also informed they have great dinner options as well!

I've only been to brunch at Aberdeen so far but the thing I love about it is the service. Their servers are super attentive and nice. They were kind enough to recommend some options and they were always around to fill a glass of water or something stronger. We had the cheesecake french toast and Mississippi bennys. Both were amazing. The french toast was a bit dryer than I expected but still super fluffy and not too sweet. The highlight of the brunch however, was definitely their warm scone and butter. I still dream about that thing at night sometimes. I loved their friendly staff and will definitely be coming back for their rather affordable brunch. Overall the vibe of Aberdeen is just cozy and comfortable. It feels like you're sitting in a nicer version of your own living room and people of all ages can come and eat here. (especially kids because that french toast is like a kid's crazy concocted dream).

I came here once for lunch, and once for brunch. The service was good, and the furnishing was very clean & nice. The lunch was amazing - for $19, I got one of the best burger I have ever eaten. The pork sandwich I split with my friend, was also retry good. I really enjoyed lunch here, and would give it 4-5 stars. The brunch, however, was underwhelming. My date and I got two dishes, and neither stood out as very good. We got the tostada rancheros (poached egg) and the BBQ tofu scramble. The prices weren't bad, and the experience was good, so I would give brunch here 2.5 stars overall. I've also heard that other options such as the cheesecake fried toast was amazing though, so perhaps I'll come back and update this review.

Burned burgers that were supposed to be medium. Why ask us how we like them and then ignore us?

Expensive but the dish quality was good. I feel it's a bit too expensive for the dish tho //Personal opinion.

Great atmosphere and great food. We had a staff meeting there and the service for our large group was fantastic.

Never had a bad meal, love the vibe. It gets busy so I recommend a reservation on Friday and Saturday nights.

Service and staff were great but, food took over a hour and a half despite only 20 people in the restaurant.

The Brain - Pina Colada Beer which was a summer go to. Can be weird for some but I love it.

Most placed I'd been to had small selections of their own beer, but to me you have to really diversity to get to that 50 plateau and I was right. 50+ beers from all over (even back home). Steady changing selections of all craft, some local, but as varied as anyone can get around here. It's dark, small, warm, cozy, inviting, but ultimately weird. Hipster AF. I was glad to see some classic cocktails on the menu which I also tried, but there is a weird bottle neck at the chalkboard as it narrows to the bar opening which makes ordering just awkward if the bar itself isn't open. They do an interesting thing asking for your name instead of tabbing you via a card to hold, but that also doesn't seem to be a Canadian thing like it is back in the States. My pisco sour was excellent, fresh juice, fresh egg white, well shaken, though I'm more a fan of metal on metal and I'm starting to think kold-draft is a luxury as many places simply don't have it. Kold draft or even 2+ inch molded ice has a very unique clang that I like. Ultimately bad if your shaking with glass though. My friends had a few lagers and ales which Hamilton is more known for than IPA's. We sat at the back where it was quite and we could hear ourselves instead of shouting over people. They have board games which I imagine is great fun and even a back patio which I imagine goes off in the summer. The staff are friendly and pretty knowledgeable, but I'd have like to seem a little more eye in the sky control, in that regard it's more barista than bar. On any given night here you'll hear conversations of beard oil, compost, prius', and other hipster topics. It's quietly romantic and dark so no one will bother you whatever your opinions are. If a Portland hipster mated with a San Francisco hipster, The Brain would be their baby.
