My wife was at work, so I couldn't ask her to remind me. I called MetroPark on April 3rd for a pickup on April 4th and spoke to 'Sid'. He seemed like a nice enough guy although he couldn't seem to either hear or understand what I was saying part of the time. He told me what the price would be for the pickup at our home and for the return trip, I gave him my credit card info and email and he said I would be receiving an email or text confirmation. By the morning of April 4th, I had still not received any confirmation but what I did receive was an almost $400 charge on my card from them. The agreed upon price I got on the phone was $120 each way. I called the main number back at 8:10 am on April 4th, got a different person, told them I had not received confirmation and asked why I was charged so much extra. He was rude and condescending, said it was sent and that I should check my spam email (which I had already done prior to calling), told me the extra fees were for gratuities and other expenses and added that I shouldn't book them if I can't afford it. Keep in mind that this comment comes from a semi-literate working at a taxi stand. Needless to say, I emphatically told him to cancel the service and hoped this would be the end of it. I then called my bank to give them the heads up about these charges as I would be out of the country for over a week. They explained that the charges were still pending, but I at least wanted it to be on record that I contacted them immediately. As I write this on April 13th, the charges were still on my card, so I filed a fraud complaint with my bank and the charges will be taken off. Also, we went with the car service we had previously used and they were honest, charged less, had a clean, new car and were top notch. Even our driver was a pleasure. To summarize, it is much easier to be an honest company who treats their clients with respect and good service than a vampiric parasite who tries to cheat honest people out of their money. You are only hurting yourselves in the long run through loss of business and reputation. MetroPark, are a few extra ill-gotten bucks really worth it?

He scanned our ticket and we boarded. The bus was pretty full, so we ended up sitting separately. The above head storage bins are kind of tight, so I had to take something out of my over stuffed backpack to manage to wiggle it in. While my purse sat on my lap. I liked the foot rest and the hook on the handle on the seat in front of me. Trash bags were hung here and there. Looks like they also provided small bottles of water for us, though we had to grab those ourselves. The electric plugs didn't seem to work, but perhaps the ubs plugs in the ceiling did. Our driver was a great communicator. He set expectations so we knew that we had a 20 min rest stop before arriving at Baltimore, and pointed out things to help us to pay attention and to get back to the right bus. He warned us that given current construction that we were sure to arrive later than what our tickets said, and gave us his best eta given the circumstances. Another passenger later commented that the bus bathroom was clean. We kind of ended up being dropped off on a brightly painted bridge in the middle of no where - perhaps on Maryland Ave?, by a bus stop. A short walk from Penn Station.

I should've waited for another company's because La Costera's driver provided horrible service. Never again. First, I asked if he was taking passengers because he was speaking on the phone to someone. I thought he would've ended his conversation after I got into the car, but he continued talking on the phone for 5 minutes. He only got on with my ride after I asked him whether he was going to drive me or not. Second, he didn't know where I wanted to go. I am from out of town and I was visiting someone for work purposes. I even asked him if he knew where the place was. He then proceeds to ask me to use my phone's GPS because his phone was dying (um probably because you were talking on the phone for all that time). Third, there's no meter. Repeat. NO METER. He wanted to charge me $20, but I only gave him $18 after some pushback. Totally arbitrary. Finally, he couldn't speak English very well at all, and while it is not a requirement to speak English in this dear country of our's, if you work in the service industry, I'd hope that you can at least somewhat communicate with your customers. Absolutely terrible. Recommend everyone to stay away.

Today I received a phone call from a representative of Arrow, not a patronizing call but one of true concern. I have been an Arrow customer for 35+ years and I valued their service. After being picked up Newark Airport and driven home, a few hours later I received an email from the company saying they were charging my partner and me a $15 fee, when we asked why they said it was because our baggage was "large" and "heavy." There is nothing on their website that states an extra fee may apply, and no definition of what large or heavy mean. We each had one suitcase, normal size for checked baggage. In fact, we used their car service in the past with the same luggage and there were no issues or extra fees. When we had checked in before our flight both suitcases weighed about 40 lbs, well below the weight limit for checked luggage. Due to the lack of customer service and surprise fees based on no legitimate evidence, we won't be using this car service again.
