We stayed here while on a Rick Steves tour, Rome in 7 days. Now granted this was obviously not a hotel I booked myself but I enjoyed myself here for several reasons.
We had a 3:00 pm meeting here at the hotel with our Rick Steves Group. Since we had arrived 2 days earlier than when the tour started so we had checked out of our first hotel at 12. We arrived early so we could at least drop off our bags and go sightseeing. BUT, they let us check in! score. They get an extra star just for that, and since there is no elevator the head guy helped me by carrying my bag up the stairs- very nice. .
Best parts:
1) free breakfast, score! - boiled eggs, sliced meats and cheeses, croissants, toasts, nutella, cereal, juices, coffee and yogurt
2) free wifi - if you can get signal in your room!
CONS:
1) wifi: The room we had we could not connect to the internet, for some odd reason. So we would have to roam the hotel looking for signal. This really put a damper on our stay.
2) noise. Mind you this building has condos so there are permanent tenants above us. So that being said I'm sure it was a washing machine or something but we heard everynight for the first 2 or 3 nights - the sound of someone knocking on the door.. ALL. NIGHT. LONG.
We did ask to move and we were told they could move us the following night, and to just make sure we packed everything up and they would move our stuff for us. And they did, the next night. the new room had the bigger shower (with shower curtain) and had great continuous wifi, (but lacked a full length mirror in the room. (that was the only advantage the first room had).
The second room was so nice, and we slept so well it was like being upgraded to a suite. Considering this was our honeymoon it was so nice to be able to rest comfortably and connect to wifi to find restaurants on yelp (duh!) and things we wanted to see, directions, etc. and of course Fb our adventures!
I would stay here again as location wise it was 2 blocks from the Repubblica stop on the metro and if you wanted to walk to many points on the map you could. it was not too far from much of anything. We walked EVERYWHERE in the cold here and we made it work! read more
