Stood at the counter for **5 minutes with nobody there**--finally, the cashier showed up but didn't even bother to say *sorry* for the wait. Dead attitude, zero customer service. Felt like an inconvenience just for being there. Worst experience at a gas station in a long time. Would avoid unless you enjoy being ignored. read more

The gas station has cheapest gas and the smog guy is easy-going, quick, careful and thorough.

Cheap & fast. No, I'm not describing my ex. Here is your place for that Petrol at the most cost efficient price. Everyone who lives in Hayward and Union City knows, your fill-up dollar will stretch most here at ABE. It's the most economically priced gas station I probably have ever known, even through the many gas price fluctuations we experience, especially here in The Bay. I wonder what it stands for... I usually just say it as it reads. Like good ol' Honest Abe. Speaking of honest, I do have one other experience here other than for a fill-up. Once my car suddenly started making a strange noise - so, having only basic automotive knowledge, I drove to ABE which was located near the home I was living at the time. One of the mechanics came out almost immediately when I drove up and he gave me a very honest educated guess as to what the problem was. I was able to purchase power steering fluid at a nearby O'Reilly store and add it to my reservoir and *poof* - like magic, the annoying sound was a thing of the past. I know that many times women, myself included are very hesitant to go to any mechanic for fear they will get taken advantage of in their lack of knowledge. I think it was very decent of him to have gave me that helpful hint with a very professional & friendly demeanor. In addition to the best gas prices in town, ABE also offers auto repairs as there is a garage on site. They also are a STAR Certified Smog check station. Only minor thing I can say is the place looks just plain old. I've been here a few times where some of the pumps are labeled "out of service", but honestly, for prices this good, I'm willing to overlook the exterior. Fill'er up - next time at ABE! read more

I'm of the firm belief that all gas is more or less the same. Given that, my favorite gas station is going to be the cheapest place that accepts credit card, gotta get those travel points! ABE has the best prices in Union City and easily my go-to spot. No upcharge for credit/debit cards but still has the best deals in the area. I don't really care that the place is a bit run-down, that's not my priority when it comes to gas stations. It is a bit annoying that the handle-locks are broken at several of their pumps, so you'll need hold down the handle for several minutes while filling up the gas. If you're reading this, ABE management, fix this issue and you have my 5-star stamp of approval! read more

Cheapest gasoline prices in the area. A little crowded as a few pumps are out of service. Plan ahead and get there during off-hours. read more

Cheap gas ($3.89/gal) Aug. 2021. Cash only. The place looks run down but there are always cars in line to get cheap gas. It's definitely cheaper than most other gas stations around, with the possible exception of Costco. read more

Abe's is a necessary evil. It's usually the cheapest station in this area. Not even just the immediate surroundings, often Abe's is the cheapest in the whoooole area. However, the other reviews are right about the condition of the pumps/station. It's so run down, and the pumps often don't work. Today the first pump I pulled up to had a sign saying out of order, but the second one was broken too. It didn't have a sign so I had to pull around and wait for another pump to open up. The buttons on the gas are stripped from use. It's generally just dirty and run down. The owner has responded to a review here, so surely he's aware of the general state of disrepair of his business. Sometimes I think due to the inconvenience, dirtiness and unreliability I may avoid Abe's, and then I never do... read more

Great gas station! Cash, debit, and credit all works for cheapest price. Pumps are old but work well. Prices are cheap. Store is lacking variety. read more

I've brought my car here for repair several times through the years. If I lived local this is the only place I would go because Harry is the best mechanic! There have been times when I've needed a quick tire repair or to have a light looked at on the instrument panel. Many times they have taken care of the problem immediately with no wait. In every instance, Harry has repaired my car right the first time, with no recurring issues. He is honest, kind, and has always done a great job. Bringing my car here is always an easy, no hassle experience. His prices are very reasonable. They also consistently have the cheapest gas in town. Excellent customer service and very competent mechanics here. read more

I love this gas station prices, not much to look at but who cares about looks when you are pumping low priced gas. It has about the same if not lower prices than an arco without the surcharge. The only downfall is that you cant pump with a card more than $50 at one time. But again who cares when you are getting great prices... Did i mention the great low prices on gas all the time? read more

I pretty much get my gas here regularly as long as I don't get low somewhere else that isn't in the area. I live just down the street so it's super convenient and the rates can't be beat! The reason for 3 stars--there is always one or two spots here that are out of service or limited in the gas it distributes (only diesel, or only regular). The other reason for the drop in stars is they close at 9pm. I find this SO odd. A lot of the times gas stations are open 24 hours. Some are not, fine. But this one closing at 9pm... It's very early, no?? Like 9pm on all nights. Even Fridays and Saturdays? I just feel like they must lose out on so much business because of this. Then the annoying thing when they are closed... They don't turn off the lights or anything that makes it obvious they're closed. They just put locks on the pump, so you don't even really notice until you're already lined up and parked, ready to fill 'er up! and then you notice, "oh shoot, they're closed!" Clearly, this has happened to me many times. It's frustrating. Luckily there's another gas station right down Mission, however they usually have much higher prices. read more

Small rickety old time funky looking outdated gas station. 4 pumps Old rock textured employee shack. Graffiti all over the pumps. Place is an eye sore and looks like a dive dump. This wreck of a gas station is on the corner of Mission Blvd & Lewelling. Today's price for regular unleaded gas $2.85 read more

I use diesel. So this is the cheapest gas around except a small.place in Castro valley is a few cents cheaper. But just about everyone that uses diesel uses 30-40 gallons or more and at $4 a gallon you need to cough up at least $120 but if you use the card slider the pump turns of at $85 which sucks. So you have to go in and then guess how many gallons you need and then guess how much you want to authorize on your card because the cashier doesn't know where his calculator is or doesn't want to use it. Then go back in when you authorized to much. But it is the cheapest and when it's .20 cents cheaper at 40 gallons that's dinner money. read more

Ok the gas station is pretty old but hey we are here for gas! So far it's the cheapest in the area. For regular (87) is 3.699 per Gal. (10/2/2011) I mean that's a great price in the area . read more

Cheap Gas here but they do not open until 7 am and closes very early. Lots of pumps do not work and the working ones you have to pump the gas and can put it to auto stop. Limited on soda and snacks inside. Run down gas station read more

actually, no stars, no stars, no stars. why you ask? check the pump on 1 gallon of gas compared to the dollar amount, ie $2.49. it does not match, and i mentioned this to several employees, (of which the cashiers office smells like an outhouse) and none of them seemed to care. their typical answer? "i'll let them know". that was 2 months ago. got $10 yesterday, still the same! they are ripping people off and laughing all the way to the bank. read more

I would think twice about going to this gas station even though they are the cheapest in the area. Not all the pumps work properly and the ones that did work only the 89 grade worked. And it's not posted so you have no idea until after you put your card in the machine. Plus the guy behind the counter could care less. I definitely will not be going back to this gas station. read more

The place has an almost run down look and one person I was driving by with thought it was abandoned or something. Some of the service reps are okay, but for those that carry cash for gas to get the cash discount when they have it, you get this attitude from some that can be rude and disrespectful because they think they are the best price in the area so you will automatically keep coming. Yes they do have a good price but they are not the only place nearby at that price. Google has some free apps that are pretty good at keeping track of such things based on user reports of local pricing. The gas price is probably the only thing that place has going for it. I wouldn't recomend it anytime I know of another place that has similar pricing. read more

I have purchased gas here for some time now, always cash. On 10/22/12 in the pouring rain I pulled in here. I used my debit card (first time ever) and it stopped pumping at $50.00 (I have an SUV so I was only half full!). Then, it wouldn't print out my receipt telling me to see attendent, so I went inside. I think this guy was new and he couldn't understand what I was telling him but he said he couldn't get my receipt without my card. Reluctantly I handed him my card and then he asked how much money did I want to pump and he starting scanning my card, I said NO I already put my card into the ATM outside and already got gas, I just wanted a receipt, and he keeps running my card though 2 more times, then handed me my card. I kept saying all I want is a receipt and he says "give me your card" and I said "no, and have you charge me again?" and I stormed out without a receipt, wrote all the pump info on a piece of paper and went on my way. Later that afternoon I decided to check my bank and there it was, I WAS CHARGED $50.00 FOUR TIMES!! Good thing I didn't hand him back my card for then a total of $250.00!! Today I am now working with my bank and they filled out a form and they said it will probably take a week to clear up. My bank said I could go back there and locate the manager and ask them to reverse it, but this guy yesterday didn't understand and I didn't see anyone else around so I declined to try and am going through "the form" process. It is a great place to get gas if you pay cash. A word to all who use the station, if you charge your gas there, via ATM INSIDE the station, KEEP YOUR EYE on how many times they scan your card. read more
