Ahmad just helped me with a crown, with his nurse Ingrid, and it was a memorably good experience: totally professional, prompt, and kind. What more could one ask from a dentist (I always laugh that we have to pay our dentists to inflict pain on us, but this was 100% painless)? Highly recommended, including the office staff. read more

Doctor Abdollahi is wonderful, he is patient, he is gentle, and most importantly he is honest. He doesn't do procedures that are not necessary. He really cares about his patients and is not just trying to make money off of them. He is a huge advocate for preserving the tooth which means that he will do everything in his power to keep your teeth healthy and avoid unnecessary work. IF I COULD GIVE A ZERO STAR, IT WOULD BE A BETTER REFLECTION OF THEIR LACK OF PROFESSIONALISM!!! My insurance assigned me to this dentist for my children. I had to call well in advance to schedule for their routine cleaning appointment. After waiting for so long AND AFTER telling the office lady that my daughter has a cavity that needed to get filled, she still scheduled the appointment more than 2 months out. A few days before the appointment date, this same office lady called and told me that she's canceling my children's appointment WITHOUT providing any reasons. After I insisted that she provided me the courtesy to at least explain why she was canceling the appointment, she told me (AND THIS WAS A BLATANT LIE) that the office had to close on the day of my children's appointment so that all their staff could get the time off to get the COVID vaccine. This sounded like a terrible lie because if this were true, why didn't she just came out and told me so. Also she wasn't able to keep her story straight! During the course of the conversation, she was incredibly rude, constantly interrupting me and refusing to let me talk or ask questions. Finally, after I pushed for more clarity and she knew that I didn't believe her Covid Vaccine story (which is incredibly awful for a healthcare professional to use as a ruse for canceling patients' appointments), she suddenly told me that she found an appointment that just opened up for my children. THIS WAS WHERE HER LIE UNRAVELED. THE NEW APPOINTMENT WAS ON THE SAME DAY THAT SHE CANCELED MY CHILDREN"S APPOINTMENT AND ON THE DAY THAT ALL OF THEIR STAFF WAS SUPPOSED TO TAKE OFF TO GET THE VACCINE! INSANE LIE!!! I confronted her about this and she rudely told me if you want the appointment, then take it. Otherwise, I will have to go take care of another patient. I was desperate to have my daughter looked at and get her cavity filled so I took the appointment. The saving grace was that the dentist appeared to be decent and did a decent job on the day of the appointment. After this appointment was done, I asked her to give me the next appointment 6 months down the road. She was very reluctant to even bother to look at her calendar to schedule the appointment. She told me to call the office another time to schedule the appointment. I asked her why couldn't she just help me look up the calendar then while we were already in the office?! Reluctantly she complied and gave me an appointment more than 6 months out. One week before this second appointment that was made more than 6 months ago, she called again to cancel the appointment WITHOUT providing a reason why. HOW INCREDIBLY RUDE AND UNPROFESSIONAL IS THIS PRACTICE??? Don't waste your time with this facility/dentist office bc these people do NOT understand what basic professionalism is! read more

Like most Everyone else I hate coming to the dentist But I've been coming to Dr. Abdollahi for about 5 years now and have never had any issues with the office staff or billing. I've had both my bridges replaced without a problem. They always let me know exactly what my out of pocket will be prior to appointment. My husband and son also get their teeth taken care of here. Today I called Dr. Abdollahi's Office for my Mom's Prosthetics which needed only some clue to stick her prosthetic to her implant but unfortunately I received a voice mail from a lady from his office mentioned "we are not accepting Medical, Medicare or any other insurance, and also we don't take care any body else implants." As an Iranian American I really expected to receive positive energy and good and warm welcoming but it looks like that lady doesn't have ethical business and doesn't know how to treat to patients in critical situations. At the end I figured that out that lady is Dr Abdollahi family because of her family name , so she might be her sister. ***Specifically For Dr. Afshin Abdollahi: Sir, You sweared to treat patients when you became doctor but this kind of behavior and rude actions from your office is not acceptable, at least they could make an appointment for my mom. Today I had three visits in a row between my new dentist and my root specialist to fix my loose implant. They made a hole on the crown, tork the abutment and then fill in the hole in 30 minutes. So professional, so quick and so friendly. Now I am thinking why I did not change my dentist years ago!? So I felt like I should spend sometime to write this down for Dr. Abdollahi and his sister to think and for people to know. I was a patient of both Dr. Ahmad & Dr. Afshin Abdollahi since I moved to the USA about 15 years ago. They had better attitude back in 2003-2005. Then gradually there was a change in attitude and specifically with the office policy of $100 charge for same day cancelations while the office tends to not frequently making usual reminder phone calls 24 hours before the appointment. About 6-8 years ago I had this incident when I called to cancel my appointment and I was told that I need to pay $100. I got upset and that was when the office manager/medical biller with an unpleasant attitude came to the picture! I found out that she is doctors' sister. Then after I told her that there is no way I am going to pay $100 for an appointment cancellation, I hung up! They tried to fix the incident by leaving me a voicemail that doctor Afshin would give me some credit for the new crown. I just ignored the voicemail and did not see any dentists for 3-4 years after that incident. I had a tooth ache some years ago and I contacted Dr. Afshin's office to make an appointment. They were friendly so I continued to see Dr. Afshin until another incident happened in August 2018! I did an implant back in Iran February 2018. The implant and abutment were both in place and the crown was already made but not in place until the implant was ready to handle the crown. Then I would ask my dentist to cement it after two months. Dr. Afshin saw the implant in July 2018 and commented that the gum has overgrowth around the abutment and that it needs surgery to remove the gum. Then he was concerned that the abutment has not been torked two months after the implant. Although there was an indirect communication between the dentist in Iran and Dr. Afshin about using a healing abutment to remove the gum overgrowth instead of surgery, Dr. Afshin's recommendation was to go back to Iran and have the same dentist fix it. I had a consultation with root specialist for my wisdom tooth removal and he saw my implant. He said he can use my already made crown as healing abutment and do a quick surgery to remove the gum from around the abutment and place the crown. Then my dentist can permanently cement the crown. After the root specialist did the surgery and placed the crown he told me to see my dentist as soon as the same day to permanently cement the crown in place. I called Dr. Afshin's office to make an appointment for cementing the crown. I was told that doctor will discuss that with me once I see him for the other tooth he was working on. As soon as I entered the office, the medical biller who happens to be Dr. Afshin's sister showed up with the same attitude as many years ago! She said the doctor can not cement the crown because we don't know how to bill the insurance for this procedure!! Why don't you go see another dentist to cement it for you? I told her that I am Dr. Afshin's patient and you are simply telling me to go see another dentist for this? She repeated herself about how they don't know how to bill the insurance. At that point I was so annoyed by her attitude and asked to speak to Dr. Afshin. She said he is not in. I was about to walk out of the office that she said, the doctor is here! She went back and talked to him couple of minutes before they call me into the room. I talked to Dr. Afshin and he was repeating her sister's words about insurance issue. I asked him not to play around and just say he does not want to do it and if so what would be the reason. He said that he thinks the job is done by another dentist and something might be wrong with the abutment and implant and that he doesn't feel comfortable to cement the crown." I told him that he could have said that to me directly instead of asking his sister to step forward with attitude and bring up the insurance billing nonsense. It was like a little boy hiding behind his sister asking her to save him with some lies!!!! Dr. Afshin Abdollahi: You were right about the abutment that needed to be torked before cementing the crown. It was your good call on that since it got loose after two months. BUT that was not a big deal! You know what the big deal was? Leaving your patient of 15 years to argue with a lady with attitude for the 2nd time over insurance billing nonsense and asking your patient to leave and have another dentist to do the job! Such attitude of yours and your sister's makes me feel ashamed of being an Iranian. So unprofessional! But good things can happen out of bad experiences! I called before to make an appointment but they refused. Since it is close to my home, I then drove to this office today to make appointment for my root canal filling. I was armed with a letter from my insurance that states I am assigned to this office starting from 04/01 (i.e. next week). The office lady refused to make appoint and insisted to wait till start of April so that she can "see" my name on her roster. I was nice and asked her please help me to make advance appointment and I showed her a letter from my insurance that read I am assigned to this office. She completely ignored it. Then the office manager came in the conversation and was worse. She was rude and said even if you come again next month, we will be too busy and you have to wait 4 to 6 weeks. The tone was loud and rude. I asked if I could speak to the dentist, she said no he is too busy, then she suddenly asked me to leave immediately. It felt like I am asking them for a free service. The office manager spoke with Persian accent and looked like the dentist when he passed by from one room to another - maybe related to him. I left the unhappy place and felt I should post this note here. I have no idea about the dentist there. read more

He does not know his work. He did a crown for me causing an infection and a huge gap between teeth. The he blamed it on the other tooth and recommended a crown for that one too. He did a crown to the next tooth and the problem did not go away. The he sent me to a specialist which he closely works with and the specialist recommended a surgery. I did not agree with that and re did the crown with the same denitst (Afshin Abdollahi). I got a bigger infection and went to another dentist. The other dentist re-did the corwn perfectly. My infection went away in a week and I can floss my teeth easily with a perfect gap in my teeth and NO need of surgery. DO NOT GO TO THIS DENTIST. On top of thta the customer service is terrible!!! read more

On my visit the doctor took some x-rays to check my fillings. After he showed me some issues in the fillings, i asked him for a copy of x-rays so that i could show it to the specialist i know, but the doctor refused to give me those x-rays. The only thing he gave me was a print out from a printer which had almost run out of ink, as u can imaging that print out is worth less, but dr. Abdollahi did not even thing twice before saying that he cannot give the x-ray at all. It is difficult to work with the dentist who doesn't what to help his patients with information. I am not sure what is he trying to hide there. I will not recommend this doctor to any person. read more

Dr. Abdollahi is one of the best dentists I have ever been to and I've been to my share! First and foremost he charges the fairest and lowest prices for his high quality work. He doesn't try to push unnecessary services on you and gives you what you need and want, nothing more. Moreover, he is considerate of his patients' time. For example, as a college student going to UCLA it is important to me to get as much done in one appointment as possible and this is exactly what he does! Unless you're getting a multi-step procedure or something he will generally do cleaning, X-ray, and even fillings all in one sitting. I've never been to another dentist with this much compassion and understanding for his patients and I will keep on coming back when I visit home! read more

Afshin and Ahmad Abdollahi are amazing dentists! I moved from the Bay Area to LA in 2010 and tried to find a new dentist but couldn't find anyone who was even close the quality of Ahmad and Afshin. I used to hate going to the dentist but they make the dental procedures much more comfortable then any other dentist I've been to. I go to him every time i chip a tooth or had to replaced my old filings but beyond the emergency care he's all about preventative care over making the most money out of you like other dentist. Some dentists will let your teeth rot so they can do more expensive procedures. He's very gentle as well as friendly so i always had a great experience with him. read more
