I wrote the same review below for his son Dr Jeff Sasaki since it's the same office that has been given such great dental service as a team to our community!!! My family and I have been going here about 30 years! We have had great friendly and professional service from everyone here from the receptionist to the hygienist and Dr Jeff and Richard Sasaki. I recently came here for bridge work and as usual everything went very well and will come back for the real bridge in a few weeks. My kids come back and still see Dr Sasaki for their twice a year checkups. Jeff has pretty much taken over the practice from his father Richard and is doing a great job. Both hygienists named Leslie are very efficient and personable. The receptionist, Veronica, who has taken over mostly for Cathy is doing a great job too. If you want a great dental experience please come here. They will take care of you expertly!!! read more

Avoid Dr. Jeffrey Sasaki if possible! I've been going to his father [Richard] for years.. but have been seen by Jeffrey - totally different experience. He did not take a time to stop by and say hi - was communicating with me via his nurse. In about 45 min after me being in the office, Dr Jeffrey Sasaki comes in w/o any greetings, does something w/o asking what concerns I am having.. I have not seen real professionals without basic professional manners - so stay away from this dentist! read more

I've been going to Dr. Jeff Sasaki's practice for 5 years. As the daughter, grand daughter and niece of dentists back east, as well as someone whose worked in dental offices on both coasts, its my opinion that Dr. Jeff Sasaki's practice is excellent. The hygienists are very skilled, I've never had a painful cleaning or exam, they have modern equipment and a knowledgeable, helpful staff. The office is clean, calm and my experience with Dr. J. Sasaki has always been good. I will say the only treatments I've had are the preventative cleanings and x-rays as I've luckily not needed more. Thorough, careful and professional dentist with staff to match. Dr. Sasaki has a busy practice but always does a thorough exam, takes the time to explain and may recommend a treatment but never pushes. I'm a happy patient. read more

In defense of Jeff Sasaki he took extra time to explain some dental options - I knew his schedule was tight because they run a tight ship (I like that - these guys are pro's from scheduling to follow-ups - it's an amazing culture - you are basically in their charge - they are perfectionists.) Avoid. It's really unbelievable for dentist Dr.R.Sasaki and Leslie hygienist to charged me on 7/11for check up and cleaning but not able to find huge tooth abscess. I was told my teeth are just fine. Wow but I do not believe it.The slow hygients will not able to clean your teeth by one visit. I believe the record in the file doesn't not match what she does and they are totally cluless about the history of the patients."She stated she clean only half..".?? I was told to come second time and she will finish the first cleaning. If I was told I will be charged again for sure I will decline. I came second time I provided documents to Cathy and she made copy. She stated next cleaning will be free because they charged two insurances . She did not informed me that she will charge me for second cleaning before she scheduled appoitment or in the time of visit.This week before I got this charge I got another message from Cathy informing me she made me third cleaning appoitment for this Wednesday even I was at work and not available. On 8/14 I received second charged for $120 cleaning and $ 40 for periodical oral evaluation and before I got the first bill for $ $120 cleaning and for $40 for periodical oral evaluation ......Two statements and it see to me I owned them for the incompetence. The second time Leslie notice the big tooth abscess ..wow ...she is the top hygienist as I was told...omg...and because she didn't perform a quality job at first time I am charge again, again.... on top another $40 for another periodical evaluation?? Shame. I believe they are misleading. read more

Dr. Sasaki was my dentist for many years - he pays meticulous attention to detail. I rate him very strongly for regular dentistry (he doesnt focus so much on cosmetics) and his prices for his location are more than fair. His staff is very friendly - his office manager is a whoot! The dental techs are good and very gentle. He is a very very good dentist . I would recommend him and his staff highly for any regular fillings, cleanings. He cares more about the longevity and way less on aesthetics... this is a positive thing for someone who needs any work done on teeth that are not seen so much.... read more

These guys are awesome! I have been going to Dr. Richard Sasaki for 30+ years. I live over 40 miles away and changed to a local dentist because of a change in insurance back in 2003. I went to that dentist one time. I immediately switched back to Dr. Sasaki and now his son Jeff and their excellent hygienists and paid for it out of my own pocket until I got new insurance that was accepted, because they are that much better. I still drive 43 miles each way every 6 months to get my check up and teeth cleaned and will continue to. It doesn't hurt that they are fly fishermen and we get to share our fish stories too. read more

My wife and I were patients of Dr. Richard Sasaki for over 30 years. (We just moved out of state.) He is a craftsman with a deft sense of touch. The reviewer who noted his "meticulous attention" to detail is on the mark. We will be very lucky to find a dentist of equal skill anywhere else. Both Richard and Jeffrey do not "make work" for themselves. I've had them watch teeth for years rather than perform unnecessary procedures. They also will not hesitate to refer work out (e.g., a root canal) if you need it. Unlike the reviewer who panned Jeffrey, I recommend him without reservation. He appears to have inherited his father's touch. He may be a bit less gregarious than his father, but the hands are what I'm paying for. I've had him "install" crowns on several of my teeth, and can attest to his abilities. The practice is in good hands. The staff is first-rate, and if you are looking for a "gentle" hygienist, ask for Leslie. You'll need to book her months in advance, but she is worth the wait. read more

Dr. Sasaki came highly recommend and is a very smart and forthcoming personality. He gave me some great advice about my receding gumline, for that I am grateful. However after one cleaning session with his hygienist, I left the office with gums tortured and totally bloody. I've actually never been in that much pain and discomfort at a simple cleaning in my entire life (am 40 years old). When it came time for my second annual visit, I emailed ahead of time and asked the office if I could have a different hygienist. The office admin seemed curt with me, said I would have to wait for another month for an opening, and then never replied to anymore of my emails or calls. I can only surmise no response means I offended the office by not appreciating sheer torture session with a rookie hygienist? Or simply, they're booked and don't need my business. Either way, the experience was most unprofessional no matter how I look at it. read more

Our family has been going to see Dr. Richard Sasaki for over 40 years. He is simply the best. I moved to the East Coast a few years back, and in the early days, I would always schedule my dental check ups around my visits home. My mother continues to go to them and raves about Jeff, remarking very recently that he has all of Dr. Richard's gentleness, kindness, and expertise. I would say that the two 1-star reviews here are clearly outliers, and should be discounted. If you're looking for a dentist, look no further than Dr. Sasaki. read more

I love the staff here! Cathy at the front is just awesome fit me in right away for a cleaning appt. Elena is wonderful and cleaned my teeth with detail and care. I've been going here for over 7 years and never had a bad visit. Dr. Jeffrey Sasaki has a great bedside manner and it's always a nice visit. Dr. Jeff Sasaki is great! I had Invisalign done with my orthodontist, but Dr. Sasaki has also helped me through the process, answering all of my questions and I never feel rushed. It also helps his staff is very friendly, I'd recommend this office to family and friends. read more

I went to Dr. Sasaki way back in 1982 when he was in Palo Alto. I lived on the East Coast from 1984 through 1995 and my dentist there often remarked on what good dental work Dr. Sasaki had done. When I returned to the area I found that he had moved his office to Los Altos in the meantime. He employs wonderful hygienists, and he does not push for more than what needs to be done. His son is now in practice with him and does very good work also. read more

I've been to both Jeff and Richard Sasaki over the years. Handled my issues through two implants with excellence. Here's a hint: top dental surgeon go here for his own dental work. Very patient. They do not fish in your mouth for work. Very gentle inside my mouth. read more

I switched to the Sasakis a few years ago and have been very happy. The office is like a spa, the people are delightful to deal with, and so kind. It makes a real difference! I've never felt pushed to do work that was not needed (which is why I sought a new dentist). Dr. Richard is awesome! He does excellent work and takes the time to explain any treatment he's recommending. His son Dr. Jeff has followed in his footsteps and is excellent as well.
