Don't go there... they don't care about their patients. All they want is money and they are so unorganized.

Great place for care and accountability…read more My older brother recently spent thirty days here and we are grateful for the experience he had. He came in wounded and wobbly, just out of the hospital after having dealt with alcohol poisoning, and left on steady feet with many resources to rely on. Brett, Doug, and Patrick took care of my brother and remain people he can call upon for help. Each of these individuals have developed close connections to him and taught him life long skills in dealing with struggle. We also received support from these individuals when we called and asked for help with our next steps with Dave. The other patients were sources of support to my brother and it really felt like a family there with lots of times for reflection. The twelve step method is used here and very helpful for building a reservoir of strength beyond the facility. Thank you, Axis Residential for taking care of our family and our beloved brother Dave.

Before I went to Axis I was a very isolated, hurt, addicted woman. I was prescribed 12 different…read moreperscriptions including Xanex for 2.5 years. I thought I would never be normal again. I thought there was no way I could stop taking it and at the same time I thought I would never be happy again. There was no way...I was full of regret, dispair, suicidal thoughts and anxiety. When I arrived to I was welcomed with open arms from a woman named Tiffany. She brought me coffee and a wonderful turkey and avacodo sandwich. After flying from CT alone, I was exhausted and she was very understanding and compassionate. I was so scared I was trembling, but Tiffany's hand rubbing my back reassured me that I would be okay. She made me feel safe. I was brought on a tour and met my roommates, I had no idea that soon these wonderful people would become my dearest friends. They were all well by the time I arrived, and I wanted what they had... I knew this would be the start of my new journey. The house was amazing. Clean, open, the back of the home is all glass. There are fruit trees, palm trees, benches to sit on outside, beautiful patio furniture, and a huge Inground pool and hot tub. There are two chefs Bill and Betty. Both cook your meals to perfection. They prepare meals that you would only be served at a 5 star restaurant. Bill and Betty are not only employees, but are amazing people to talk and laugh with. Their love and passion for food is something well admired. I was privileged to be served by both. I must not lie, detoxing from Xanex was not a field trip. The first 4 days I could care a less about what was being served or what the patio furniture looked like. My roommates and the staff were there to give me comfort all day, every day. In my detox stage I was was close to my nurse Paul, who was a kind, soft spoken man. He did everything he could to help me physically get through the withdrawals, and he was very knowledgable on all of my questions. As time went on, I actually started to feel better. Everyday I went to groups on time and shared my experiences with the councilors and my roommates, and they shared their stories. What a group of amazing people. Some days we had yoga or meditation with "Mediation Mark" who is a God send for those days where you cannot concentrate or relax. I never thought I could concentrate enough to mediate, and now it's one of my favorite things to do. Mark is a wonderful soul, a kind hearted man whom has traveled the world to learn inner peace. His teachings and talents that he brings to Axis are a privilege to be a part of. Meditating with Mark is something that I miss dearly now that I am home. After I detoxed I was taken out of the house every day. Whether it would be going to the movies, shopping, sight seeing or just a talk over coffee. And this is where my favorite councilors come in. Megan is a strong, intelligent, beautiful person. From day one she takes the time out and makes it a point to sit with each roommate and asks simple questions about how they are feeling, how their day is going, etc. Sometimes she takes out over an hour of her time to speak to us one on one. I had trouble opening up to a complete stranger, but after awhile I trusted her. The conversations I had with her were confidential and I finally learned to trust another human being. Something I haven't done in years. I know I can call Axis when Megan is working. She listens to my feelings and concerns and still guides me even though I'm no longer living in the home. Johnny always comes in to Axis ready to go! His loud excited voice gets you going! He makes sure to ask everyone how they are feeling and he also goes out of way to get to know each of us on a one on one level. He always wants to take us out, so we can grow to be better in social gatherings, Something else I had trouble with. Going to the movies with him was always my favorite because just for a short while I would feel "normal" again. Just a bunch of friends going to the movies. His personal story is one to remember always. Somewhere I know he is proud of me, But I want him to know... I am also very proud of him. To conclude, I am better now. I no longer take any pills for anything. I eat, sleep, and go out of the house happy. I am a good mother, wife, and friend again. I can watch tv with my family and laugh, I can read my daughter a story and tickle her goodnight. My anxiety is now gone and so is my insomnia. Go to Axis if you need help. I promise that if you listen to what they say, surrender to your addiction at the door and be patient. You too will get your life back, but this time you won't be a prisoner of your addiction. No more checking the clock, hiding pills or bottles, and no more isolation. Just take it one day at a time.Make today your first day to change and call. My only regret is that I didn't call sooner. To the staff of Axis, thank you for saving my life. My name is Amber and I'm an alcoholic/addict.

RMR is comfortable, like a home, and the animals are wonderful. Chef Cesar is awesome, providing great meals and supportive of recovery... kindness speaks volumes. Staff is friendly, helpful, and supportive to individuals needs; my needs were met and I was able to focus on myself and my recovery responsibilities. I would recommend RMR to anyone that has been through treatment before and needs a "reset" on life. The atmosphere is conducive to healing, recovery, and "to give yourself a break". It is always helpful to have a group of fellow alcoholics/addicts that want a better life for themselves, the group does matter!

I had to sleep in detox vs a client in detox (he was a prior employee) and my roommate was attacked by this client. When safety issues were shared with staff, they became extremely angry telling us to leave if we did not like it. The only counselor (Kay) was unprofessional to staff as she could not control her emotions. Their rules make it so you must go to staff for everything (phone calls, razor use, safety issues, cooking, charging electronics). All clients are treated as if they were 51-50ed. They have prior clients living on the property in exchange for labor and clients are also used to clean stables and feed their animals. They bring dogs to the home who make it hard to be present for classes and to sleep. Feedback is met with retaliation. I also noticed they modified my "symptoms" paperwork to justify longer stays. If your a white woman, this place is for you. If your a Marine, don't let Kay know as a Marine dumped her so she has a bias. I had to be transfered to another facility due to the aforementioned safety concers/aggressive behavior by staff.

I am now on my 30th day of PHP, and I can confidently say that the work we've done together has transformed me on every level--emotionally, spiritually, relationally, and personally. Because of Joshua, I don't just understand what recovery looks like--I know how to live it. He's helped me build a foundation rooted in honesty, integrity, and purpose. His guidance, presence, and challenge have allowed me to confront the things I've avoided for years and step into a version of myself I never thought possible. Because of Joshua, my relationships have begun to heal. My connection with my wife has improved. My ability to show up for my kids has grown. I'm more present for my family, friends, and coworkers--and I'm finally able to live with emotional availability and clarity. But most of all, because of Joshua, my future is no longer something I fear or avoid. It's something I look forward to--bright, beautiful, and filled with possibility. I will forever be grateful for his care, his professionalism, and his wisdom. If you have the chance to work with Joshua Smith, know that you're in the hands of someone who doesn't just do this work--he lives it. And he changes lives because of it. --Chris Klein Alumni, Hazelden Betty Ford Residential + PHP Programs

Veronica should train every CNA. She was the most professional, kindest and attentive CNA. Thank you Irma for delivering me to my car with a smile and a wave goodbye. The entire physical therapy team were great. Maureen, the occupational therapist assistant, was the most caring, positive and thorough . She was the only one who started me on Diathermy first, and she was spot on using that therapy on me! Nurse Evanie, who distributed meds was so cheery, kind and professional. She listened to my needs and acted promptly! I never waited long. The facility is kept super clean and maintenance crew like Hilda, Pedro and Lu Lu entered the room without loud chatter and were respectful and considerate of my needs to not have strong cleaners on the floor due to my respiratory condition. This place is not the modern remodeled kind but the care and cleanliness really matters a lot. The food was mostly very tasty. They happily substituted anything on the menu. The only change I would like to see is syrup without high fructose corn syrup and creamer without artificial ingredients If I didn't mention all staff by name, I still thank everyone for making my difficult time a little easier. I wanted to take a moment to thank your team for everything they did on my behalf during that time. Your entire nursing team on Station 2 where I was located was so welcoming and helpful to a new and extremely anxious arrival like myself. I must give special mention to CNAs Veronica and Alma with whom I spent the majority of my time. They were always attentive and cheerful when I needed it most. Assistant Director of Nursing Mike Lamb also went out of his way to assist me when I had questions or concerns about my situation. The Physical Therapy team was fantastic in their approach to my healing. Primarily led by Ted and Jurbee, my PT sessions became the best part of my day. Their expertise and advice produced immediate results and made me feel much more confident in my ultimate recovery. Finally, your Administrative team- Meredith Shipley, Erin Hickey and Crystal Islas provided the patient related information I needed to relieve undue stress from the moment I was admitted to the day of my release. Again, special mention to Erin and Crystal for their efficiency. Both went above and beyond to assist me with scheduling doctors appointments and home nursing follow-up. As I am facing additional surgery there is a good chance I will be admitted to rehab again within the next few months. I will be sure to specifically request your facility. You are very fortunate to have such a professional, skilled and compassionate group of people working with you in the service of others struggling with various health challenges. Please let everyone there know what a difference they make and how very much they are appreciated!
