me in my room (single rooms are MUCH nicer than the doubles) - luckily this one had its own bathroom
Grace M.

So I had to stay here back in 2014 (this was supposed to be my place of rehabilitation - medical care & physical therapy). The physical therapy lady I had - she gets 5 stars (I don't know if she is there still) but she was very nice and friendly. She was also very patient, I had to relearn to walk and strengthen my leg. Anyway, the majority of the nurses here had terrible bedside manner. I know a lot of them were more friendly to me, because I was like their age (I was the youngest patient there). But you're just like stuck in your room all day (like a hospital) and the nurses come in/out to give you your meds and that's like it. If you ask for something or need something, they're not friendly about it. Staying in that place is way more depressing than staying in the hospital. I wanted to go back to the hospital. I would do my daily walks inside the facility and you would see all these old people (most in wheelchairs) just sitting in this hallway (yes, most of them have "gone out to lunch & have not returned"), but they're literally just sitting there, no music, no television, nothing. Some of them would just be sitting there facing the way. It was just such a depressing sight. I ended up getting an infection when I was there, had a very high fever for a couple of days, had awful chills, could not sleep. I definitely needed medical attention but they would just "wait for it to pass"; after like 3 days of being miserable, an ambulance had to take me to the hospital. Also, the room I was in - the AC was broken. I was there in October, it's still warm AF in October. They only had a fan which was basically just blowing the warm air around the room. I don't think this place is very sanitary, needs like a FULL clean down. I feel so bad for the people that are staying there, it is not a place anyone should call "home". And even though this place is for those with not a lot of money (not a boogey nursing home), but it just terrible. This place needs better nurses (that actually care about the patients), needs to be cleaned, needs things to be fixed, etc. Worst 3 weeks of my life at this miserable place.

My Dad just went through a major surgery at Eisenhower Medical Center where he stayed for a week. We had no idea what they had in store for him. This place is a big "MEDICARE DUMP". It's where the hospital dumps Medicare patients to save money. This place is disgusting. It's filthy, dirty, beat up furniture. The TV's are bolted to the dressers. The floors are filthy, no one cleans, sitting in this place makes you feel like your in an Insane Asylum.

EVERYONE IS SO NICE HERE!!

They were nice enough to have a nurse conduct the consultation. I never once spoke with a surgeon. After reviewing my MRIs, I got a call from the receptionist saying that I needed an epidural, which will not correct the problem. It will just put a Band-Aid on it. I know surgeons are busy and don't have time to make phone calls, but when you make the time to show up, it's comforting to consult with the person that was trained to solve the problem. not a nurse. I suggested that the epidural seems to be a method of fee generation rather than solving the problem, and boy did that bite- the attitude immediately changed from the nurse. I don't think it's too much to ask for a surgeon to look at the MRIs and give you his professional opinion, face-to-face, and allow you to answer questions which I was never able to do. It seems Eisenhower- once one of the diamonds in our community has degenerated to a private equity Hell scape. On top of all this when the receptionist called me, she told me that this epidural that " is not a cash grab" has to have a pre-procedure consultation 35 days from now. Patient care is clearly not a priority. I will go somewhere else.

Dr. Mahmodian did a comprehensive review of my husband's treatment thus far and he examined and prescribed important aggressive treatment with a nutritionist (still on gastric tube feedings due to severe dysphagia), physical, speech and occupational therapy, GI specialist as well as labs and diagnostics. Phone calls, emails and nurse's requests for phone calls from case management, social workers and doctors are ignored. The one phone call from the case management manager resulted in her promising to obtain information and call me back within a few hours. So far, it's been 4 days with no information.
