The absolute worst care my father has ever received. Most employees from the nurse to the social workers to the front desk have attitudes and do nothing for supporting the patient. It has been a complete nightmare from start to finish. We are relocating from California to Oregon, and it has been completely different in how they handle everything. We were told all the wrong information, and no one knows what to advise or do. I ask if anyone knows their job. RUN do not walk or stop at this location. I feel like I have been on a hamster wheel for the past year and a half. It is a perfect example of a government run business! Trump should shut them down. It is a disgrace how the veterans and their families are treated. I have to constantly circle back because nothing gets done. How are they allowed to be in business! I am the primary contact with power of attorney for my father. I have dropped off all required information two times with certified copies and still not listed, and they lost all the information. It is unacceptable that they are still operating. I have filed complaints multiple times against the treatment of patients and their families and will continue to do so until they are shut down. No business should operate this way and the Veteran's deserve better! read more

Doors (No Security) Go To The Glass Partitions To Ck. In. Sitting Down & Filling Paperwork Out In This Huge Empty Room (See My Pics) The Girls At The Ck. In Were Unprofessional & Very Loud Laughing & Chatty In Spanish. No Real Wall Art Or Pics. (Other Than Trump ICK...) So, I'm a New Patient (100% Rated Vet. & a Transplant From Ft. Lauderdale / Miami VA) My New Primary (PCP) Was a Telehealth Visit (Video Appt.) She Had No Idea Of What Med's. I Was On (She Basically Did No History On Me, Expected Me To Tell Her) Anyhow The Screen Was Frozen, & Time Delayed, Broken Speech Pattern It Was a MESS. A Big Nightmare. From What i Understand My Health Care (Appt. Tomorrow VA Hospital Loma Linda VA -101 Miles Round Trip) Some Health Care Is At LLVAHospital & Some Sourced Out With Community Health With Eisenhower Hospital at No Cost (100% Rating) Guess I Was Spoiled In Ft Lauderdale / Miami VA Healthcare & Even There It Was a Little Backwards But Here In Palm Desert Clinic Just a DISASTER.... They Do Have a Lab. For Blood Work, No X-Ray's or Prescription Pickup (That I Know Of) & I Saw One Real Physical Doctor Calling Back a Patient, But What Dr. Calls Back Their Own Patients. he Prob. Had an appointment today 9/16/2024 at 3pm. I was texted and emailed many times to confirm and make sure to get there 15 minutes early which I did. Still waiting to be called in at 3:35 pm. Found out they were running behind and still seeing the 2:30 appointments. I was very frustrated for the long wait. Doctor must have been doing surgery lol. They offered to take me back but I would be waiting in the room until they got caught up. Mind you they had canceled an appointment that I had 6 weeks ago. Also sitting in the waiting room is very depressing. Nothing to read. No pictures on the walls and silence except for the staff talking to each other. I'll never go back there. read more

To make a blood draw appointment one has to go thru the Loma Linda ,VA switchboard. Additionally you have to wait for the operator to transfer you to a different schedule provider. It can take up to an hour. The primary care physician they assigned me was insensitive & uninterested in my concerns so I opted to return to care at the Loma Linda location. read more

Do not call this office if you need any assistance. I was on hold for over twenty minutes only for them to answer and immediately hang up on me. I had to call again and be put on hold for another 20 minutes before they finally took my call. Absolutely ridiculous and unprofessional. You're supposed to help Veterans but you guys can't even answer a phone call from someone who needs help? read more

On April 15th had a bad fall and I knew right away I sustained a serious leg injury. I contacted the Palm Desert VA clinic and they had me go to an urgent care in Indio. The urgent care took X-rays and found that I had a serious fracture. The doctor stated that I would most likely need surgery and said I should let the VA know that I need to see an orthopedic specialist right away. I called the Palm Desert VA clinic to tell them of the findings, and that I needed to be seen by orthopedics quickly. That day went by and nothing more was done by the VA. At that point I was having severe pain. The next morning they said they couldn't take care of me without the X-rays the urgent care clinic took. A friend of mine drove them out to the clinic. I heard nothing more that day. It had then been two days since my fracture. On Friday my nurse had the day off and I didn't receive any communications. Then it was the weekend and I had not been seen by orthopedics, and I did not have a cast. I called VA first thing Monday and they were just giving me excuses why I hadn't been seen by orthopedics. At that point I had to get my leg taken care of outside the VA. I contacted Eisenhower Orthopedics and they saw me the same day, and I had surgery three days later. I ended up having a plate and six screws put in my leg. There was never a sense of urgency to take care of me at the VA clinic. It was if they didn't care. I will now be stuck with a large medical bill as a result of their lack of actions. I have filed a complaint with the White House Hotline and I'll continue to share this story until the VA makes it right. Yes, they need to pick up the costs incurred by me as a result of them not taking action. In all good conscious I cannot recommend going to this clinic. read more

First of all their location is now behind Costco not on Cook St. Next, i used to go to VA Hospital in Minneaspolis once a year to see my doctor and get prescriptions through the VA. 15 minutes from my house. Since moving out here i was never comfortable with the clinic and now with Eisenhower as my primary doctor as well as my cardiologist. (Medicare & Blue Cross supplement). Never went back. So lets go to the present. My cardiologist wanted me start on a very expensive medication. Sam's pharmacist called me and said was I aware of the monthly cost which was close to $600 a month. So I called his secretary who I knew from another situation and she gave names of places that will reduce that cost. For different reasons turned out to be a dead end. Stopped at the VA Clinic to see if i could re-enroll in their program and was told they were taking no new patients. However I then talked to the head of the Clinic and he said due to the distance to Loma Linda, the VA now has a program where one can use local hospitals and doctors. Eisenhower is one of those approved facilities. Bottom line is after going through several phones calls to something called Community Care, I am now in the VA system through Eisenhower with the exact same doctors I have had. And now a 30 day supply is $8.00, not $600. A huge thank you to the gentleman whose name I cannot remember who is the Clinic head and a word to the wise if you are not near a VA Hospital, there is another option. read more

I just moved to the Palm Springs area and made my appointment at the VA in Palm desert to get a new doctor. Somehow I made the mistake of marking down may 11am blood draw for 1pm. When I checked into the clinic, the receptionist told me my appointment was at 11am. As this was happening, a nurse walks by, and the receptionist ask if it was ok for her to draw Blood so I can see my new doc in a week. The nurse starts to yell "no blood work that late in the day". She yelled it like 10 times. The nurse then says she'll draw my blood and she processed to yell at me again. "No blood draws that late in the day". I suffer from PTSD and there's no way I'm letting someone who is crazy AF stick anything in me. How do people like this keep there jobs? Why would she be employed at a hospital where she's around Vets? So now I have to drive to the SFV to see a doctor. read more

Absolutely horrible between the call center I don't know who's service is worse... The Palm Desert location is horrible I have gone through three different primaries in three months and I don't even want to mention the lack of concern being shown from the call center and the front desk of this clinic in Palm Desert..... More so than not these people are here to provide a service to veterans because if not for us they would not have a job and at times whomever I speak with I let them know that we don't work for them they work for us and if u don't like your job move on...I called last month to have a prescription refilled for this month (August) back in July and the doctor still has not signed off on it. I was told by the call center four different times to be told all we can do is send a message what makes it even worse is every time I call the call center I am being told something different. Cold unwelcoming warehouse. Difficulty in scheduling blood work. Still waiting over 7 days for scheduling to call after 2 prior attempts and notifications to ordering VA doctors. Time to notify Patient Advocacy and Congressman Dr. Raul Ruiz. I would have to drive 70 miles each way to drop off a urine specimen. Veterans deserve better. read more

For those vets (like me) living in the Coachella Valley and wanting a clinic nearby, this is much better than driving an extra 30 minutes just for a regular doc appt, blood draw or meds. LL is there for all the specialty stuff. As a disabled vet, I like that Sundial takes me there (and back) for a *lot less* hassle and $ than LL. AmVets is great for transportation, but you have to go early and come back late. I can't deal with that. There's always the ER at Desert Regional if it's immediate, or LL ER if you can wait. I've found the staff and docs at PD CBOC to be very attentive (almost to the point of annoying, a good thing), parking (if you drive, I don't) to be easy, and the office is clean, personable, and timely. Whoever claims that the VA has not lived up to expectations is wrong. I get great and efficient medical care. When I have a question I email my doctor and with 24 hours I have an answer. The only shortcoming is the need to go to Loma Linda for "some" of the specialist care. Now there are specialist for Psychiatry, hearing, and neurology in the same building in Palm Desert. My prescription can be ordered by telephone or online. The VA has the best ever web site. I'd give their care 6 stars if possible. read more

I would rather drive in Coachella concert traffic to Loma Linda than to be "helped" at this Vet Clinic. The front desk is so incredibly rude and unfriendly. It's almost like this is a training center for the DMV, not a center for United States veterans! Awful. Horrendous. There has to be a better place to go. Pathetic !! I have 100% medical, I relocated. Contacted the office to establish and set a Doctors appointment. I had to drive to the office 20+ miles to get a piece of paper to fill out my new address, Street, City & Zip Code, on 12/02/16. Before they could make an appointment. My appointment was made for 01/11/17. Turns out this appointment, was only to return the piece of paper, with my new address. After waiting, it took less than 5 min. To do. I've been waiting for 40+ days and DID NOT SEE a Doctor. Another appointment was needed for blood work and another to see a Doctor. Would have been easier and faster to drive the 100+ miles to the VA hospital emergency room. I've driven more than that and haven't seen a doctor yet. All my information was already in the computers, only an street, city and zip code was necessary to change. This took 40 + Day................... Over a month and a half to see a Doctor. Private Sector, they ask you to come in 20 min, early to fill out paper. But, you get to see a doctor !!!!!! read more

These guys are the best. When I moved from Palm Springs to Valle Vista I switch my VA to Murrieta. After two visits I couldn't take all the whining and complaining by the people sitting in the lobby. And as far as I was concerned the staff was good. Finally, I called the VA and ask if I could switch back to the Palm Desert VA and I explained why. they said yes I could. Granted it is further than Murrieta but the people that go there are very patient and respectful and the staff is like visiting old friends. So stop your whining.....you're lucky you have VA..... read more

Stay away from this place!! I have no idea how this place still exists. The treatment was cursory at best and almost killed me PLUS they spelled my name wrong and seems there isn't anyone who can change it in the computer so I'm Stepehen not Stephen in the VA system. I had a bi yearly review of physical with Dr. Danial Nash, he has been my V.A. Dr. for more than 4 years. Over the years the V.A. has taken a lot of flack over various items. I must admit this has never been the case with the Palm Desert office or the Loma Linda office. Dr. Nash is one of the most caring persons I been assigned to. He has helped me thru my troubling on going issues. The next day he even did a follow-up to inform me of an approved medication by the V.A. and asked how I was doing. I'm surprised by the harsh reviews for Palm Desert VA Clinic. Between my primary care provider here and the treatment teams at Loma Linda, I get the best of care and couldn't be more satisfied. I see several writings about pros and cons of the "nurses" at the Palm Desert VA Clinic. Guess what? There are no clinic nurses there and never have been. In the State of California, "nurse" is a legal term generally referring to an RN. If you were admitted to a VA Hospital, as I was, you would be taken care of by real nurses. Big difference in care and how you are treated. The same professional care should be applied to out-patient PD VA Clinic. read more

This place is absolutely horrible. The front desk staff is typically rude and treat you like you owe them something for walking in there. Most of the nurses could care less about your health. All the staff there cares about is getting you out of there as fast as possible. The doctors if you can even call them that see you for a total of 2 to 3 minutes, give you some sort of medical advice that you can usually Google yourself and send you on your way. This place needs to be seriously investigated....Absolute shame the government allows this place to keep running the way it does.... read more

New doctor at this facility and seems like ONLY MD to see patients! Had 10:00 am appointment and wasn't seen by MD until 11:20am. Asked the staff 5 times outside of treatment room I was warehoused, "where is Dr?", was told "I'll check" but they never returned and 2 nurses who promised "I'm next pt" at 1045, 1100, and 1115. Loma Linda VA gets you an MD who is still in training, but never the same physician more than once! There is no continuity of care. My health is more important to me than money. Well, it is six months later, and I am still trying to get out of this clinic. I cannot get rid of them. I have been trying to correct the wrongful entries now for six months and they just do not respond. I email them constantly and get no response. I do walk-ins at other clinics for my healthcare because I refuse to go there. I cannot reach anyone at Loma Linda to correct this. My pcp has to do everything and he won't let me go. I am a 100% service-connected disability, P&T. Isn't this disgusting. I think this place is contract personnel and doctors, not VA healthcare, so they probably get bonuses to keep costs down and that is the problem besides having doctors who just like aggravating you and giving you poor or no care. You will die with the healthcare offered here. I reiterate DO NOT SIGN UP FOR CARE HERE. YOU WILL BE SORRY. Any wonder they all sit behind a bulletproof cage. Never saw that at a VA facility before.
