I personally feel that Rancho Milagro is a great place to get sober. I do strongly feel that it is more of a client motivated program and may not suit people their first time in recovery (honest opinion). RMR is comfortable, like a home, and the animals are wonderful. Chef Cesar is awesome, providing great meals and supportive of recovery... kindness speaks volumes. Staff is friendly, helpful, and supportive to individuals needs; my needs were met and I was able to focus on myself and my recovery responsibilities. I would recommend RMR to anyone that has been through treatment before and needs a "reset" on life. The atmosphere is conducive to healing, recovery, and "to give yourself a break". Rancho Milagro Recovery - Bedroom that I stayed in, with 2 other amazing women. - Rehabilitation Center Near Me - Temecula, California

This place is extremely poorly run and uses addicts as indentured servants. They do not have any medical staff which caused safety concerns due to clients being in psychosis being allowed to move to the residential area. I had to sleep in detox vs a client in detox (he was a prior employee) and my roommate was attacked by this client. When safety issues were shared with staff, they became extremely angry telling us to leave if we did not like it. The only counselor (Kay) was unprofessional to staff as she could not control her emotions. Their rules make it so you must go to staff for everything (phone calls, razor use, safety issues, cooking, charging electronics). All clients are treated as if they were 51-50ed. They have prior clients living on the property in exchange for labor and clients are also used to clean stables and feed their animals. They bring dogs to the home who make it hard to be present for classes and to sleep. Feedback is met with retaliation. I also noticed they modified my "symptoms" paperwork to justify longer stays. If your a white woman, this place is for you. If your a Marine, don't let Kay know as a Marine dumped her so she has a bias. I had to be transfered to another facility due to the aforementioned safety concers/aggressive behavior by staff. read more

I am a regular reviewer on Google and Yelp. The best reviews are always positive. On those occasions when a negative review is warranted, it should be posted only after giving some time to think it over. This facility is a recovery center for people with alcohol and drug addictions. A friend was accepted, and as her primary caregiver, I took her to the facility. It is located in the rural area surrounding wine country in Temecula, CA. After traveling down some dirt roads you come to a large single-family home with animal pens for various farm animals. All looked good until you walked to the front entrance and were confronted by hundreds of flies living in a small pool of water near the entrance. As my friend and I entered the home were were met by several dogs, one wearing a diaper. These are large dogs and can be threatening to some people. Not good. I carried my friend's bags back to the room she would be sharing with another patient. While getting my friend's belongings in place an 'unhinged' staff member came yelling for me to leave the room. I understand why outsiders aren't allowed to be with the patients. What I don't understand is the highly unprofessional way the situation was handled. This was just the beginning, more to come. Using the phone was not allowed for the first week. After that, you could use the house phone while being monitored. This is not the norm at other rehabs. On receiving the first call a staff member took the phone and began treating me as if I was one of the reasons my friend was in rehab. I was treated as a suspect, not a friend, let alone a caregiver. Outrageous!!! Later, I was called by the the facility owner because my friend was not following the rules and they lost control of the situation. I was asked to talk with her. Of course I did, and was able to get my friend back on track, this inspite of the disrespectful attitude of the staff. In the process I learned that the facility owner ruled with an iron hand and the staff was was causing issues with my friend by challenging an invoice i presented foe 3 months room and board for my friends dog. This was not any of her business. In closing, the last time I saw my friend is when I brought her dog to the facility and received payment for my invoice. This included an offer to watch her dog while she was getting settled into her new apartment and no additional cost. I wasn't allowed in the facility when I returned my friends dog. While I was giving my friend her dog, supplies, a staff member was on a walkie talkie with the owner, who told me to leave the facility or she would call the police. I was done talking to my friend and was leaving anyway. I highly recommend that you pass on this very scary environment, despite all the flowery, sound alike, reviews, Ryan R.'s review leaves you with some very good advice. Stay away. read more

I never thought I'd be leaving a review, but I needed to. This is for the astounding help, patience, and professionalism of the many counselors that helped my cousin through the hardships of addiction. It is arduous the time and effort that goes into battling this lifelong disease and I have also learned so much about addiction through the numerous family sessions and therapy. I have witnessed first hand how much work it takes to really help someone, but the first step as always has to be with that person -- when my cousin was ready, Rancho Milagro was there. They helped explain how the initial few days would be and it was pretty tough. After much perseverance and time, my cousin now remains steadfast in her programming. She is an amazing person who I hope will one day she share her story, but I must give credit where it is due. I cannot thank you Rancho Milagro enough for helping my family. I know these are only the first steps to a lifelong process and although there may be setbacks, these are the tools to help fight the fight. RMR changed my life I spent 40+ days here and felt right at home. The staff goes above and beyond for their clients and really care about our recovery. The ranch has dogs, pigs, horses which really helped me during my stay. The staff was very accommodating and did all they did to ensure I was as comfortable as could be Director Renee is amazing and makes sure we are recieving the best treatment we are able to. I drove my friend here two months and was amazed at how beautiful it was driving through Temecula to Rancho Milagro. I was hesitant at first, but after seeing and meeting the staff and learning about the program they were offering for my friend, I was put at ease. My family and I are so thankful to Rancho Milagro for helping one of our family members through a very difficult time. Although we had wanted him to get help for over a year, we suddenly needed to find a rehab facility asap since he was in a state of psychosis and finally agreed to go. We reached the head nurse at Rancho Milagro right away when we called, who was wonderful and so helpful on the phone, and had everything lined up when we arrived later the same day! Our family member had a case manager assigned to him and she, along with his counselor, nurse and doctor, helped bring him back and out of psychosis: it took longer then usual, but they didn't give up! He is healthier now then he has been for years, and drug & alcohol free. Having healthy, delicious meals prepared by a chef on the ranch was an added bonus! In addition to the wonderful staff, the ranch and grounds are lovely and the animals (horses, goats, pigs and more) help make Rancho Milagro an even more peaceful place. I was always able to reach someone by phone, and I knew the staff by name. Even the owner is on site and takes calls. They were all always so gracious, understanding, and willing to talk and answer questions. Rancho Milagro is an excellent resource for people who suffer from drug and alcohol addictions to start the process of reclaiming their lives. A friend of mine spent several days here. I have to say this place was a BLESSING!!! My son was addicted to fentanyl and for 2 years I was searching and searching for help to find a rehab that actually wanted to help and cared and not just tell us what we wanted to hear to get us in then have him experience something totally different then they described. it was just becoming hopeless, I thought I was gonna loose my son! As we we were on our way to a hospital facility to admit him I received a call from Judy the owner. She explained the facility to us how they have group meetings, one on one therapy and have animals there it's an outdoorsy type of feeling. My son told me to turn around and wait till they have a bed available which we did and honestly it was one of the BEST things that could have happened to help him heal! They gave him knowledge and showed him how to be strong and cope with getting off this ,they actually really care about everybody there and as a mother I had the feeling that my son would actually make it! RMR is the place to go if your looking to get your life back on track! I decided it was time to quit drinking and i made the call to the "Ranch". The 30 day treatment program works if you are willing to do the work. The Counselors each had a vast array of knowledge and concern for my well being. The property is secluded and has ranch animals such as, cows, horses, pigs, chickens, goats, an emu and a wonderful pack of happy dogs. Jackson is my favorite, so if you go, give him a good belly rub. I was provided the proper treatment package that was tailored to my specific issues. With the help of a the Therapist and my Counselor, I walked out of there a new man and was ready to take on life's challenges. I highly recommend this facility if your serious about letting go of addiction and enjoying the things life has to offer.
