ABC Moving I like these guys! They were real cool about me having to reschedule my move on a very short notice from my storage facility. No problem there! Walt and Kevin show up as planned and introduce themselves and explained the pricing and everything and got to work. These two gentlemen were super nice, and have been in the moving business for a long time. These guys know their stuff, and their experience showed. They knew the best ways on how to pack up my smaller items into larger boxes they brought. Walt and Kevin both worked very efficiently. These guys would carry several boxes at a time, and would place my items wherever I directed them in my new apartment. They also put my bed frame together for me. Kevin even suggested for the future on how to pack my cheaper furniture so it would not break. Once we were done Kevin explained all the charges for their work. Too bad we moved to a house we love and hope to live in forever. Otherwise we'd get to work with these guys again. Billy, Josh, and David showed up precisely on time and TORE THROUGH OUR JOB with speed and efficiency--and without breaking or misplacing a single item. We added a couple of complications to our move (extra stop, extra appliances) and our final bill was still within the original quote. It's obvious that they care about doing a superb job. At one point, they thought they had broken something pretty minor, and they alerted us to it immediately. Turns out there wasn't any damage, and we appreciated their timely forthrightness. Justin and Timmy from ABC Moving just pulled away and we couldn't be more pleased!!!! They were prompt, polite, super nice and very efficient! Welcoming strangers into your home to move your possessions can be very stressful and you often don't know who you're going to get, but justin and Timmy from ABC were fantastic! They were very careful not to bang our furniture and swiftly moved through our apartment despite the boxes strewn every where. They were extremely careful with the freshly painted walls in our new house and meticulous about making sure all the furniture was placed where we wanted it. ABC moving is extremely affordable and they charge based on the hour and don't try to estimate based on the amount of stuff you tell then you have (I find I always underestimate) and there were no random, hidden fees. The floor coverings were complimentary and much appreciated. Justin and Timmy were so quick moving us that it actually cost less than I expected! Plus, they saved us hours of schlepping heavy furniture and arguments! :) All in all we are very pleased and would recommend the company, especially these two guys to anyone! read more

I was quoted 3-4 hours to move a small 2 bedroom apartment. It took the movers 7 hours, and they destroyed our sofa in the process. They had us sign a waiver while they had our sofa wedged in the hallway, half broken. Then when we called to complain, the manager just said, "You signed a waiver!" He also stated there was no way I would ever have been given an estimate for moving time; but I was. He was extremely unprofessional, did not give me a chance to explain my side of the story, and admitted that his employees had lied to us during the move. They said that after all the damage and extra time they cost us, we could call the office on Monday and things would be made right. I attempted to call the office and was told no manager was available, he'd call me the next day. No one called the next day by 3:00pm, so I called the office again. I was connected to an employee who refused to state his name. Instead he said, "I'm as close to a manager as you're going to get for awhile." He cursed at me and hung up on me. I called back again to ask for his manager's name, and he shouted at me that he would NOT give me his manager's name. Talk about bad customer service! He then began screaming into the phone about how "unreasonable" of a person I was, and I was forced to hang up to protect my eardrums. Needless to say, I am extremely unsatisfied with the customer service we received. If you have no issues moving, they are probably a great company, but beware if you have ANY issues. They will take responsibility for NOTHING they damage during the move. And if you're lucky, you may even get to speak to the anonymous person I got to who cusses you out over the phone! read more

Such a great experience with the company. Leshorn, Michael and Cody B did an exceptional job. They arrived on time and moved things out from our apartment to the new place very quickly. Despite the hot weather outside, no single complaints from them. They were very professional, extremely careful with handling our boxes/furnitures and made sure that they put them in the right place. ABC Quality Moving & Storage is fantastic for local or long distance move. Very responsive in the process of trying to find a company. I moved 90 miles out of Saint Louis to Southern Illinois, their price is right and their company is professional (the first quote from Two Men and a Truck 2000.00, ridiculous). The only reason ABC I rate Quality Moving four stars instead of five is because they were about an hour late on move day (something out of their control happened, their tardiness was not due to lack of initiative) ....HOWEVER, they did provide an extra person for free. So, without any hesitation I would hire them again for a move. And I would request the professionals I had onsite - Kevin, Will, and Jack N (these guys get it done in no time). We moved in October from St. Louis to Chicago. My husband and I had hired another company but due to a scheduling conflict with the freight elevator, we had to schedule the move for a different day which they could not do. We were a week out from our move and I was freaked out! We called ABC and they were wonderful! They worked with us to quickly get our move all set up and scheduled. Kevin, Will, Dave, and Duane were fantastic! I couldn't believe how quickly they had everything moved into the truck. There were a few hiccups (the elevator broke) on the move in and they were patient and calm. They even helped us dispose of a couch that was too large to fit into our apartment. Everything was moved in perfect condition with no damage to anything. The cost of the move was surprisingly very reasonable. We were very happy and would definitely use them again. read more

I had a great experience with ABC movers. The movers Kevin W., Dave and Will were punctual , pleasant , and professional. These guys knew what to do and handled my family heirlooms with care. On the delivery end, same was true. Items arrived in good shape. These guys work hard! The front office staff were also pleasant and polite. The whole intake to scheduling process took a bit of back and forth over several days, which was more than I was expecting to get this booked. Very, very pleased. Quick, thorough, careful with our stuff. I have used them twice, and the first time was a terrible experience-the movers talked about their hangovers the entire time and smoked at my house, even when I asked him not to (Feb '12). This time, however, was great. These kids worked their hardest on a very hot day to move my mother quickly into a second story apartment (with elevator, thank heavens!) and were very thoughtful and understood what a big deal it was for her to move, asking if it was ok to place items in certain places, arranging things as she liked, etc. Will definitely use again! read more

Was quoted $347 ish to move my 1 bedroom apartment 3 miles down the road, ended up costing $650. The movers did a good job and we're polite and nothing was damaged but I feel like I was taken advantage of because I was a girl and they moved very very slow. I had them move 1 tv, a bed and bed frame, dresser, couch, coffee table, end table, desk, tv stand, and about 10 boxes. I wish I would have used a different company that would have charged me and appropriate rate for the small amount of furniture and short distance I moved. Will not use this company again. read more

I called them on a Thursday and was able to schedule someone for the next day. They (Kevin W & Undray) arrived on time, were very professional and got right to work. We had heavy furniture on the 2nd floor. They took apart the bed, wrapped everything and when we got to the new location put everything back together. It was a very smooth process and they were very efficient and hard workers. Hopefully we wont be moving again, but IF we ever do I would definitely use them again. read more

We hired ABC Quality Moving Co and were designated Kevin W and Tim to do a small internal move in our office. They were prompt on arrival time. They were hired to switch two of our office furniture set ups. The desks are very bulky and heavy and needed to be disassembled and reassembled. They were not only professional, but they also kept the noise to a minimum allowing internal meetings to not be disturbed. They were very kind to move my desk around the room until we found the perfect placement (at their suggestion) and I couldn't be happier with the new set up. They were speedy, safe, courteous, and great to work with. I would ask for these two again. The only reason I didn't give them a 5 star is bec the move was on a smaller scale. But I have confidence they would do great at a large move as well. read more

I've used ABC two times recently, and have had great experiences both times. Tim and Steve S were great, my service elevator wasn't working the day I needed to move out of my (shithole) apartment, and they used the regular elevator and were just as speedy as when I moved in. Moving into my new apartment was a breeze, and the guys were very careful with all my belongings. The quote and what I paid were spot on, and the convenience of the payment app they have is great. Definitely would NOT recommend this moving company. While the receptionist was pleasant to work with the movers were incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. When asked about their COVID policy the receptionist said that they don't require their movers to wear masks, but they're required to wear masks when asked to do so. So.... none of the movers showed up in masks, so we asked them to put them on and even provided masks for all of them. They ignored us... none of them acknowledged our first request and didn't put them on and continued to walk inside our house. So, we asked a second time and handed the masks to them personally and the attitude and rudeness we experienced was incredulous. They finally put them on, but wore them incorrectly. When they were asked to wear them correctly we were told "I can't do that" and repeatedly ignored. They wouldn't make eye contact or acknowledge we were speaking to them and continued to walk inside our house wearing the mask incorrectly. We called the company due to their lack of respect and they said they called the lead guy and told them to wear the masks correctly, but the lead guy and a couple others continued to wear the masks incorrectly! It's apparent their "quality" standard for customer service is set very low... read more

You be the Judge: After calling several local business to receives quotes for our 8 room house, and based on several positive reviews, we selected ABC Quality Moving. Knowing that our move would be during peak season (summer), we reserved the date at least 6 weeks in advance. We reserved two-26 foot trucks and four men; specifically requesting "Walt" (based on positive reviews). We were quoted for an 7-9 hour move. Moving day arrived and they showed up promptly. Based on the suggestions on their website, we pre-packed approxiamtely 95% of our household items and consolidated approximately 80% of them in the garage. To make a long story short, the move took 14 hours total. During the day, we observed several movers taking extenuating breaks, moving slowly, giving us attitude, leaving cigarette butts and soda cans on the move site, then candy wrappers and cigarette wrappers at the new house, and damage to the single most expensive item we owned (our formal dining room table), specifically breaking it in half due to the fact they left it upright and stacked boxes/goods on top of it. At the conclusion of the move (10:15pm), the lead mover stated that unless we paid in full (DOUBLE what we had been quoted) he would not be taking the table back to "the shop" for repairs. After sending a certified letter to the owner of the company, demanding a refund of the overpayment, we reached a satisfactory conclusion. ABC arranged for an independant furniture company to repair our table on-site (which took in excess of 7 weeks), due to the fact "their" shop had a fire, the initial inspection was a great deal more work than anticipated, and the first on-site repair resulted in even greater damage caused by the owner's son. The entire experience was terrible and completely uncalled for. Simply put, everything that could have gone wrong, did. Although I believe the end result was satifactory, it would be irresponsible not to share this experience with others. read more

Ugh this company is a mess. I had read the yelp reviews prior to considering them and saw that they were mixed so I was a bit hesitant but I figured I would give them a shot. My first contact with them was not so great, as one of the ladies in the office got a bit snippy over the phone when I was expressing frustration about their inconvenient appointment times (for anyone with a regular 9-5 job) for having someone come to take an estimate of my property. I did a long distance move from St. Louis to NY so I figured the price would be on the higher end but I was not moving any furniture, only boxes. I don't really have anything to compare it to so I can't speak to pricing but overall the company seems to lack in professionalism, efficiency, organization, and courtesy. When I booked the move date over the phone I had scheduled it for 12pm. There was no mention of an extended arrival window but once I got the paperwork (the night before) it said arrival time between 12-12:30pm. Ok, I can understand that. But day of the move 12:30pm comes and no word from anyone so I call the office who says they are going to call the crew and call me right back. 12:45pm rolls around and no one has called me back so I call the office again, "Oh Andrea was supposed to call you back, I'm sorry." Clearly they need to work on their communication over at this office. They tell me the drivers should be there "any minute." 1 pm rolls around and still no word or sighting of the movers. I go back downstairs and find one of the guys hanging out in the elevator explaining that his partner is parking his truck. So by the time they actually made it up to the apartment it was probably more like 1:10pm. The guys were generally nice but no real sense of urgency, no apologies for being late...nothing. They finally load up the truck with all the boxes that I had already packed and taped and we were on our way at 3pm. The dropoff in NY was supposed to be a day and a half later between 8:30-9am. I finally call the office at 10:45am looking for the guy and they say they will reach out to him and call me right back. Ofcourse no phone call back from the office, but the guy shows up at 11am. Then when all was said and done my credit card was charged 4x for the moving fee. They claim the other charges were reversed but I don't trust them at this point because they are not a reliable company, so I'll definitely be monitoring my credit card statements. Bottom line, they lack completely in organization and communication and an understanding of the principles of customer service. If there was one of these issues then fine, things happen. But the fact that they all occurred and there was no attempt on the company's end to extend an apologize or any sort of compensation makes me think they just aren't run very well. These guys moved us from StL to Southern IL this past June. It was HOT, we lived in a 2 bedroom 3rd floor walk up, and in addition to moving everything out of our apartment, they even shuffled things around from our van to their truck and expertly packed both in just over 2 hours. Then they drove to our new house and unloaded everything in even less time. They disassembled and reassembled everything as promised, broke/damaged absolutely nothing, and didn't even let our cats escape during the process. They were polite, respectful, helpful, and never even complained about the heat or stairs! Not to mention theirs was one of the least expensive quotes we received. The worst moving company by far. Yesterday, they came out to my apartment downtown st. louis. They forgot to bring boxes. Then they said i have to sign, even without their boxes. I already confirmed boxes. They are out at my apartment and they ask, "what am i suppose to pack"? Then, 10 minutes into packing, they go outside and call the manager. The manger comes with boxes. I was suppose to use them to move quickly to the next building. They, then, go outside and start chatting and smoking. They want to be paid, "NO WAY"!!! I kick them out and have different movers for today. I just FOUND OUT THAT THEY STUCK BUBBLE GUM TO THE BACK OF MY SIDE TABLE. IM FURIOUS. WE HAD CONFRONTATIONS AND THEY ARE HORRIBLE. We used ABC on Friday the 22nd for a House move. We had 4 movers and 2 trucks. The drivers were punctual and worked pretty efficiently. We were downsizing and moved us from a 2 story to a ranch in 9.5 hrs. At first everything seemed great until my wife and I started really going through boxes. We had them put all of our boxes in the garage so that we could move them in gradually. As we have been unpacking we have noticed many of the boxes we marked FRAGILE were on the very bottom of stacks of heavier non fragile boxes. Some of our Items were broke inside and I had a computer desk that was broken. Not only that our garage and lawn were littered with cigarette butts. I was frustrated about the situation so I called to just talk with them about it. I spoke with a girl and told her first off that we had cigarette butts everywhere and she proceeded to tell me that none of the drivers that worked with us smoked, which we saw them smoke ourselves. After that I told her about the Fragile box situation and that we had a computer desk that was broke and some important things such as my wife's great grandmothers china. She proceeded to say that they are responsible at all and didn't even care to say sorry. I became even more frustrated and ask so you aren't going to do anything at all and she continued to just back her drivers up and made me feel like a fool. This made me kind of angry and when my voice raised just a bit she said I was being hostile and she was going to hang up. Finally I said that I said nothing derogatory or anything and just wanted them to stand for something and at least say sorry. I got none of that she said I will talk to my supervisor and then hung up on me with not even a bye, thank you or we just don't care we have your money. The service ended up costing us about 1700 after an $80 tip. I guess just hope you have no problems because they do not stand by anything they do and cover themselves with excuses and no insurance unless they pack for you. So watch your stuff they do not care at all. read more

We utilized the ABC Arnold, MO location for our move. Overall, the movers did a great job. They arrived on time and worked hard. They made an unfortunate mistake and broke one of the mounted lights in my brand new house. The Manager never once called me to reconcile the issue. She had an Office Coordinator email me several times. She waited over a week for me to get frustrated before she finally got involved (and by "involved," I mean she emailed me). She finally ordered a replacement light, and proceeded to ask the Lighting Company to lie to me by stating that the light was taking a while to get into stock; when in reality, ABC had put my issue on the back burner for over a week. I had to pick up the light and reinstall it myself, and still no contact from the Manager. The ladies in the office couldn't have cared less about rectifying the situation, and they showed complete lack of integrity by lying to cover their tracks. I would not recommend this company. read more

Our movers (Steve R, Tim H and Keith) were excellent, they worked hard. However by accident one of my TV's was damaged. The guys brought it to my attention right away and took pictures and stated the office would contact me to replace the TV. However I never received a call from the office and when I called and spoke with Christina (the boss) she stated they will not replace the TV. She stated that in order for TV to be replaced it had to be in a box, no one ever told me this prior to the move. The contract states that "Flat Panel TV that are not packed and un-packed by ABC will only be moved at the owners risk" Well the guys wrapped the TV and unwrapped the TV with protective padding, no one said a box was needed. Now I don't have a 65" TV any longer and ABC management is not taking responsibility for the damage. The movers were wonderful but the management is horrible. read more

I can't say enough good things about this company and their movers. I worked with Nick, Jerry and Leo today, and they were not only knowledgeable and friendly, but they moved everything we wanted quickly and without damaging anything. I was given an arrival time of between 8:30 a.m. and 9:30 a.m., and they not only showed up on time but were even there a few minutes early. I could tell they listened when I explained what we needed done, as everything they moved went exactly where I asked them to put it. Their pricing was also reasonable and straight forward -- no surprise charges when the job is done. Worst service ever. We used ABC services to move from one apt to another that was less than 3 miles away. Let me begin with describing what and how much stuff we had to move. There were 8 boxes, 2 dissembled beds (1 king and 1 queen) with their mattresses, one sofa, one dining table, a tv stand and a bookcase. It took more than 3 and half hours to move these items. The total time taken include 2 and a half hours to load into the truck, 15-20 mins of travel and approx half an hour of unloading. The moving time would have easily extended for another 2 - 3 hours had we not asked them to dump everything in the living room of our new apt. Later on, we moved and assembled everything by ourselves in the new apartment. The two guys who showed up were very slow and not coordinating at all with each other. They were moving stuff independently even things like mattress and box springs that definitely require two people. Even having an elevator in our apt building didn't help much in moving things quickly. They didn't seems to be professional. They were trying to take everything through the elevator, even things that wouldn't fit in the elevator including our queen mattress. We even asked them not to take queen mattress through the elevator but they didn't listen to us. Now, our mattress is making squeaky sound every time someone sits on it. It is no longer the same one that we had in previous apt. Also, scratches on bookcase and bed planks are common. We paid them at that time and called the ABC moving company next day to give feedback and share our moving experience. They said that they will investigate and get back to us, but we never heard back even after 1 week. We made another call after 1 week but got the same response that they would call us. As of today, two weeks have past but we haven't heard back from them yet. We didn't anticipate this kind of service from a moving company who is so highly rated online. We had the worst experience and would definitely won't recommend their services to anyone. read more
