The second time, I was present, I wanted to see her in action. She quickly walked up to the served party, asked a few identity questions, stated that they were served and was done. She is a great service and I know if I need anything served that she will be the one to do it. I do want to mention that other process servers charge extra for multiple locations, but she is extremely reasonable. I asked her to swing by a few "known" locations and she had absolutely no problem doing so without giving me a hard time. This was the main reason that I insist on using her. She took the complexity out of this process. She is very reasonably priced (about $70 a serve). Granted, I live in her area of service, but even so, she attempted to serve/served with little to no hassle, questions, problems, etc. Definitely recommend this process server!! I felt like, despite ample opportunity to serve my requested documents, they moved with no sense of urgency to get the job done. I read the terms, understood their policies etc and yet still felt they weren't in the business of "process service" especially since it was mentioned several times early on, if they were unable to serve the documents onto the defendant after all attempts I could just file a "declaration of non-service" and ask the court for alternative ways to serve him. Definitely didn't want to have to do that especially since I paid $130 and gave more than 7-days time frame to get it done. On one attempt, I notified them ahead of time that I had confirmation he would not be home, and they knocked and rang the doorbell anyway and counted it as an attempt. I was confused but stayed patient in hopes they would get the job done. Needless to say, they were unsuccessful and ended up filing the Non-service affidavit and I was back at square one after 8 days and $130 short. Instead, the documents were returned to me disorganized, with missing pages and additional copies mixed in. When I later checked the court's electronic record, it became clear that many of the documents were never submitted at all. The night before the filing, I received a phone call from the paralegal stating that my paperwork had accidentally been shredded, only for her to say later that night that it had been "found." That alone was extremely concerning given that these were important legal documents related to my case. Because the filing was not handled correctly, I now have to spend additional time and money working with an attorney to correct the errors and resubmit documents that should have been filed properly the first time. There is also a strong possibility that the paperwork submitted to the sheriff for service was incomplete as well, which may require service to be redone. The level of disorganization and lack of professionalism here put my case at risk and created unnecessary stress, delays, and expense. Based on my experience, the handling of my documents demonstrated a serious lack of competence and attention to detail that is concerning for anyone working with legal filings. I paid for a straightforward filing service and instead received work that appears careless and incomplete.
