Whoever does the buying deserves a huge shout-out; every item is cute, classy, or interesting (or a combination thereof). Many of the greeting cards may have literary references, there are scarves and jewelry and knick-knacks and toys for the kids. I tend to give away a lot of journals; there's usually a lovely selection of super expensive diaries, as well as discounted notebooks to jot down your thoughts or start that food diary. I believe that the profits support the library; your shopping may not be a charitable donation but your purchase supports a good cause. Retail therapy and a win-win for the public good. TRENDY LITTLE STORE w/ GREAT FINDS! Central Library's "The Library Store" is a current,…read morewell-stocked gift shop with buzzy reads and stylish merch. I loved seeing their pocket-sized collection from their genre-specific books to celebrity finds. I spotted a Chappel Roan book among other favorites. Additionally, they had a selection of Heated Rivalry novels and other fan-favorites. I definitely see myself coming here more often, too bad my booklist is currently full. My Mom and I got a few items (a small version of Macbeth, socks, mug, etc.). Staff were pretty polite but a little awkward, I think they're on high-alert for shoplifters. The store was neat and tidy. Lighting was dim and the store wasn't packed. As this is a gift shop in LA, library-specific merch is slightly pricy. However, the quality of the goods are great. If you're entering through the backside of the library go straight down the entrance hallway a bit and turn to your right. The Library Store is hard to miss!

This gallery/community space/boutique/gift shop had endured the pandemic and a shaky economy, STILL holding space for events that fortified, uplift and support the neighborhood and community. This is the place where you can catch a live music show, listen to poetry, meet authors and learn about their latest book release, look at art and find a new art piece for your home and buy the most unique gifts around. Their space is filled with local artists, but traditional and modern, unique clothing line, progressive books and items that are hard to get. This place is too good to gatekeep and the prices are very fair and reasonable. For their art shows, they take care of their artists by waiving a commission fee and collaborating with local business to treat them with a dinner and drink. In a city where galleries feel cold and transactional, Espacio 1839 sets the bar for the art scene. Come by, grab your next book, buy presents for your loved ones and start your art collection.

Shout and About is a small boutique shop located in Echo Park that sells various gifts and greeting…read morecards. This is the flagship shop opened in 2015 and there are currently three brick-and-mortar locations in Echo Park, Carlsbad, and Encinitas. [Parking]: Parking is very difficult in this part of town. I got really lucky and found a residential street spot on Grafton St. [Merchandise]: The shop offers many cute gifts including home goods, scented candles, tote bags, and a section with items for children and babies such as children's books and random animal plushies. I like some of their greeting card designs, but there is not much of a stationery selection. There is also a mini print vending machine at the front entrance. [Conclusion]: I am not sure whether I would drive out of my way just to shop for gifts here as there are too many random items. It would be nicer if the shop focused on a more specific niche category rather than being a jack-of-all-trades gift store.

The shop normally closes at 6 PM on Friday - Sunday, but the shop was still somehow open at 8 PM on Saturday while Damnoen Saduak (DS) Night Market was on in early August (the night market has since been permanently closed starting August 17th, 2026). [Parking]: Metered parking only with several paid parking lot options available in Chinatown. There are some free parking spots along Yale St. & College St. [Selection]: The shop offers various cute T-shirts, sweaters, hoodies, hats, art prints, red envelopes, stickers (buy 5 stickers get the 6th free), magnets, keychains, canvas totes, etc. All designs are original and created by Chunky's artists. This is one of the few gift shops with a big design focus on Shohei and his dog Decoy. Customers can add a frame to any art print for $15. [Conclusion]: This is a very small gift shop with no AC so it can get stuffy here. Personally, I think this gift shop has some of the better one-of-a-kind Asian inspired designs that are out there and I can see myself coming back here to get their unique red envelopes or Shohei/Decoy gear if I need some.
