This spot is dope. I've come here multiple times for gifts - great spot for birthdays, Christmas, etc. They have a ton of stationery like notebooks, cards, stickers, merch, and the like. They also have an awesome selection of artists' goods in the back of their store, and books in the front. Everyone is always so friendly and helpful, and you can tell the store is very community centered. Love that they provide free masks for those who need them! Everything is pretty reasonably priced, especially for being in this section of Highland Park. I'm always willing to give my money to support small businesses over billionaires, and I hope this store stays around for a while. read more

Came in here on my #StationeryStoreDay Crawl back in August. Located in Highland Park on a very busy York Blvd. this little shop packs a LOT into this cozy spot - plenty of greeting cards, journals, stickers, Chocolates, Tumblers, Children books and other unique gift items and they also host the LA Pen Pal Club from time to time. What a wonderful neighborhood treasure for the stationery community! BTW they are located across the street from Shorthand. Street parking is available as well as a lot behind the block. Be Nice Have Fun is a cute small Latinx-owned stationery shop on York Blvd. They sell a wide variety of items such as cards, stickers, t-shirts, sweaters, tote bags, books, candles, etc. Store has huge exposed brick walls and a very spacious layout. Prices are ridiculously expensive. Atmosphere was inviting and relaxing. Overall, it's a nice stationary shop. read more

Basicallly BNHF is like that trendsetting girl in your H.S. that was always wowing folks with her personal brand of style, political insight, and pulse on what would make your living space feel homier. This place was adorable!!! I went in initially because they were hosting a paid watercolor event that my friend was hosting. The staff are super nice and the store gives you that classic artsy feel with multiple items for sale by independent artists. They have such an array of items from sale from tote bags, to hair clips, to jewelry-even items from Japan. Pretty sure you'll find something you can gift this Christmas/holidays! I don't know about you but I'm pretty excited with my gift finds and if I was the one receiving them I'll feel extra grateful these gifts were well thought out out and one of a kind! This is a cool spot of well curated shop of local artists and there's something for all ages! My 3 yo especially loves the slime and squishy corner and wanted to get them all! What a charming little shop! My friend and I happened to pass by this store last month, and there were SO many darling toys, trinkets, books, and more. I picked up a myriad of trinkets (including two animal whistles, a mini magnetic doodle board, and a couple of activity books). Such a cute little shop on York Street! I know there are a lot of little stores around here but this one is one of my favorites. They have an awesome selection and, as my sister and I discovered on our recent trip here, they have a lot of items from Valfre that have since been discontinued so it might be your only spot to get some of these older designs at a decent price. I haven't been to any of the events here but I love that they create space for them and it seems to be a pretty inclusive community. I think this is going to be my new go to spot for gifts! read more

Love this place first and foremost for the wonderful owner! She's the sweetest and radiates so much joy. I love people like that. I'm also partial to the music she plays and we've had good conversation about our respective emo days and Warped Tour, haha. Stumbled upon this shop after grabbing some coffee. I brought my daughter back, and the service and hospitality was amazing. Super friendly staff, clean store. They have a huge selection of gifts, books, stickers, jewelry, and so much more. We came out with a book, a couple of gifts, a sketch book, and some calligraphy markers. I came here looking for a card and wrapping paper for my friend's bridal shower, and boy did I find it. I wanted to like this place, but unfortunately the service wasn't great for me. I stopped in because it was the only party shop open after 6 pm (right now they're open until 7). I ordered some balloons to pick up in a few days. They were a little more expensive than I was hoping (around $60 total for 12 regular balloons and 3 special ones). I was totally cool with it since I didn't have time to shop around. When I got the balloons, they were supposed to be in three "clusters" or groupings, each on a clip. The employee handed them to me kinda tangled up in one big cluster and said they would come untangled later. I was like, sure, makes sense... So I put them in my car. A few minutes later I opened the car door, and multiple balloons sadly escaped, including the one "happy birthday" balloon in my cluster. :( So, I realized that several of the balloons were not actually tied down to the clips, so it's honestly surprising that I didn't lose more! Also, they didn't tie down one of the letters that I had properly (it had two areas on the letter where you could tie it), so it was lopsided. It was disappointing to pay a lot for balloons and then not have them tied down to a clip so they wouldn't fly up in the air, get lost, and pollute. I didn't have any other decorations planned that explicitly said "happy birthday," so I was just sad to lose that balloon; I know it probably sounds kinda silly. read more

Such a cute store for knick-knacks, stationery and party supplies! Came in looking for plates/napkins/cutlery for a party and there were so many cute options. We ended up leaving with birthday cards and stickers too. You can definitely get lost inside this fun boutique. Cant wait to go back. Tip: It's a boutique so inventory is on the smaller side. read more

This place is amazing!! And can I say, THANK YOU for saving my butt!! I called in a last minute whim hoping to get a ballon garland done for a same day photoshoot . The owner, was the sweetest gal. She not only took samples of what I needed and made it happen, she also did this in record time to save the day!! Not all hero's wear capes ;P. I highly recommend this place for someone looking to order their party decors, photoshops, supplies to make your own etc. Will be back again!! read more

Since they deleted my review. I will post it AGAIN. They cancelled my appointment 2 hours after they were supposed to be here. But proceeded to have their "block event" the same day & time. Seems to me they couldn't handle that much work. I'm all for supporting small businesses. But they shouldn't accept work they can't keep up with. It was a little unprofessional to cancel my appointment 2 hours after they were supposed to decorate :). If personal emergencies happen, it should be notified to your customers at that time not the day of their appointment :)- a little tip :) read more
