Huge variety of blind boxes and novelty items! One of the more popular stores in the plaza. Everything is priced according to market value, so nothing overly expensive. Staff is friendly and they accept Apple Pay! On weekends, there can be a line out the door! Luckily, I came during dinner time so it wasn't too crazy. I got a few blind boxes and went home satisfied. For Sonny Angels or Smiskis, you must ask the staff as they are held in the back.

I'm a regular visitor to Little Tokyo and usually love exploring the stores, but this time it was packed! I'm used to stores keeping the crowds manageable and limiting the amount of people coming in, but this time the store was crowded with people, I could barely see any of the cool stuff because of the crowds. Definitely not the shopping experience I was hoping for. Not to be deterred, I came back later, determined to get a couple of specific blind boxes I had my eye on -- but surprise! They closed about 15 minutes earlier than the posted hours. And to add insult to injury, the staff just ignored us standing outside, trying to get their attention! It felt like they were trying to sneak out early without dealing with any last-minute customers. Despite the crowd and early exit, the store seemed to have a great selection. That said, I was able to grab a blind box a little earlier, and was pleasantly surprised by the price--it was actually pretty fair compared to other, more popular brands. So, I left with something, at least!

Once again, absolutely love this shop and actually much prefer this location! My bf and I had no idea about this one so I wonder how long ago they opened. We first went to the one in the Santa Anita mall and have since been driving out to that one. We just so happen to be walking through the village and it caught my eye since the line was out the door! We were looking for food when this caught our eye but the line was so long, we passed for now. We ended up turning around because we found a food spot on Yelp that we wanted to try and had to pass by this store again with no line in sight so we decided to hop in line. It was just us two and they were at capacity so the young lady working told us to wait a bit till two more leave. Didn't wait very long so she explained the 20 min max shopping time and to not squeeze any of their blind boxes. We walked in and surprisingly ended up only buying 2 Pokémon finger puppets. Usually we buy a bunch of Pokémon re-ment but didn't see anything new so we ended up passing for now. But definitely love the open space of this one, much bigger location and the decor and lighting was very nice. They don't do the buy 2, get 1 gacha coin for their machine at this location tho! I wonder if it's just a location thing. Definitely nice to know this one exists tho and can't wait to come back! IG: @ammysalamii

When I first visited this shop, it felt like a familiar one that I had been to in Burbank. Apparently they moved! They seem to get a lot more business here than when they were in burbank, so huge props. I've been here a handful of times, and every time I step in just to "look," I always end up walking out with something. The prices are decent and there a a nice supply of mystery boxes, straight from Japan, China and Korea. The shop is well kept and the staff is nice and helpful!

I've been to the one in the Westfield Santa Anita multiple times and this one has most of the stock that they have there too. Lots of blind boxes with little figures in them ranging from indie artists to popular characters and series (Poke'mon, Animal Crossing, etc), lots of cute accessories like earrings, patches, hair bands, etc. Personally I think that this location has more clothes on hand since there is a wall of the Poke'mon shirts/sweaters in the back and not just the 2 racks. Instead of an in-store gacha machine based on how much you spend with a random item inside, they have a crane game machine. Neat place to look around, especially if you love cute character series like Sanrio or San-x, like anime (mostly just Poke'mon, JJK, Demon Slayer, and Tokyo Revengers), or just want a place to walk around and check stuff out. Unlike the Sanrio and Tokyo Lifestyle stores, there was no limit on people entering the store currently.

They have so much cute mystery items ! They had the birthday mystery tins and I was so excited. I recommend trying to trade someone if they are buying the same Item as you. The workers were friendly. One cash only register and one credit card only register.

Lots of unique collections gathered on one spot. Sanrio, Pokémon, BTS, etc. lucky bag that contains 11-12 items is another fun event that they offer. They also have vending machines where you can grab and go your favorite characters. There are unknown brand character figures as well and even those products' quality were great. If you would like to explore other collections other than the well known brands, this is a place.

Great little gift shop in Little Tokyo! They got everything from Sanrio keychains, one piece collectibles, Pokémon figures, lunar new year tigers, and much more! We bought a couple of things and came back later to buy more stuff! The keychains are 2 for $20 which seems reasonable. There are many other stores in the area that sell similar/identical items like neko stop but I think Neko Stop is definitely the best when it come to organization. The store is a bit small so just be aware of that when walking around. Nice store to get gifts from little Tokyo.

Cute little shop! They have a lot of unique items. You have to check your drink in at the entrance (as with most stores in Little Tokyo)

I want to start with, this store is AMAZING! I was in LA for pride weekend. My partner and I took a trip during the day to little Tokyo. I used to collect pop art vinyl toys when I was in my early 20's. Specifically blind box toys. I loved the thrill of getting something and not knowing what it would be. But having a small piece of art to place in my space. When I walked by neko stop. The line was about a 10-15 minute wait. I went inside with no expectations I just wanted to look. I was awe struck by how cute everything was! I wanted EVERYTHING! I ended up getting a sleeping elves sea box, a dimoo aquarium box and a pucky what are the fairies doing box. I also got my dog something and some family gifts. I had so much fun deciding which collections to choose from. This was definitely my favorite stop in little Tokyo. The staff was also so kind. They seemed to be having as much as I was trying to decide. My partner even surprised me with an extra sleeping elves sea box because I wanted them all! I called this store after leaving LA and asked who owned the shop and the history. I spoke to Maggie who was very kind and let me know that the owner is kind and it was a family owned business. Even though I could get the full set of sleeping elves sea on amazon and have it in a day. I decided to buy from their online store to support them and wait the few extra days and pay the shipping. Adorable family owned shops like this with friendly staff. They deserve to exist. I think the kindness and happiness of the staff also reflects the owner as well. I would not have purchased these blind boxes had I not found this adorable store that made me feel the joy of a child all over again.

They also had a lot of traditional items/supplies for tea ceremonies, calligraphy, and kimonos. I had fun looking through all the items as it brought me back to our summer in Japan. Apparently they have a long standing history in LA, having opened in 1946 after World War II. The shop occupies the site of the first Japanese-owned business in Los Angeles, circa 1890's. Pretty cool! I have a soft spot for everything animal shaped and soo.... I picked up a fun/odd felt tiger Christmas ornament, a cat pen, and a super cute bronze cat shaped spoon that hangs on the side of your cup. Did I need it? No.... but it's fun and makes me happy. Maneki Neko also operates a sister concept store called CATCH Little Tokyo located on the third floor of Japanese Village Plaza. [Parking]: As long as there are no special events in Little Tokyo, the Aiso Parking Garage (101 Judge John Aiso St) is your best bet. [Selection]: The shop has transitioned from primarily selling traditional decor / ceramics / cosmetics (which the shop still carries but in a smaller section) to focusing mainly on plushies and blind boxes featuring IPs like Sanrio, Pokémon, and other Japanese anime. Even though an officially licensed Sanrio store is located next door, Maneki Neko still has an excellent selection of Sanrio items that you can't find at the next-door licensed Sanrio store. [Conclusion]: This is one of those shops where I can probably find a Sanrio plush that I am willing to buy as a gift.
