Started my Saturday morning in Little Tokyo at Yoboseyo Superette! The photos only yelp drew me in, especially seeing the drink containers :) Overall a solid spot. Friendly and welcoming staff, and the cafe has a warm cozy vibe to it. Some of the treats they sell at the counter looked appealing and they also sell a lot of random goods. I got the impression some of it was by local vendors? I didn't really understand what was behind the cafe as you could go up stairs. Yeoboseyo (여보세요) is such a unique place in little Tokyo! Definitely a hidden gem with either street parking or structure parking. I personally park within the structure for $15 flat rate but you can park for cheaper either on the street or in other lots! My favorites here have to be their packaging and unique items. The interior is beautiful and you can spend a good amount of time going through all their items. We ordered the blueberry matcha and regular matcha! I enjoyed their regular matcha over their blueberry personally. If you prefer sweeter tastes, the regular matcha over the premium is suggested! I personally enjoy my matcha sweet so the regular matcha was a solid choice. If I am ever in the area, I'd definitely come back to visit this cute store! read more

From growing up in the 626, I know that "Yoboseyo" is a common Korean greeting on the phone. Coming into this small boutique store/cafe, I felt that it was, indeed, welcoming and I liked that they featured tasty Asian pantry items and cool knick-knacks from Asian-owned small businesses in LA/OC. They have some nice local flavor as they carried a nice selection of chili oils, sauces, Asian ice creams and boutique soaps/candles. I've purchased some of these items elsewhere (ONDO Soap, Roberto Hot Sauce, BOON chili oil), and I feel that this store has curated some high-quality goods that have high usefulness. If you're looking for some nice, useful gifts for a friend (or for yourself), then this is an interesting place to check out. From this visit, my wife got a refreshing tea here; however, I enjoyed perusing all of the things that they were selling on their shelves. Tucked away at the USC village is the cutest boba shop with an artisan boutique feel of many hand crafted and unique items. There was so much to look at inside. They also have a market type vibe with many grocery type items to stock up on. The ube taro was very creamy, wish it was stronger ube a flavor. But classic coconut-y like flavor. Boba was good. They had some seating inside but plenty of outdoor seating in the village. Plus 2 hour free parking downstairs. Even though there was a line inside they were quick. We tried the cappuccino and blueberry matcha. The only milk available is oat milk! If you want different milk with the same menu - you can go to the sister shop (Dulce). The menu is very simple and straightforward. The blueberry matcha tasted pretty sweet, and came in a very adorable cup with a can. The cappuccino came out in a paper cup, sustainable! Found a lovely little coffee bar in Little Tokyo. Got the Yuzu Sparkling Tonic, which was a great twist to a classic espresso tonic. Mix your drink well as the yuzu has a tendency to rise to the top. So unless you want to get blasted with a strong, sour taste, give it a good mix. However, once mixed, it's amazing. SUCH a cute find in Little Tokyo! I love coming across a specialty store filled with local goodies. And Asian goodies, no less? You have me hooked. I'm sure their wares rotate, but they had a whole bunch of local snackies from small businesses when I was there. I grabbed an ube cookie and some pandan coconut blondies from Bánh by J, which were SO good, intense flavor and not too sweet. I also got a black sesame mochi krunchie (mochi rice crispy treat basically) from Loaf Language that was perfectly chewy, and not overwhelming with the black sesame flavor. "Yoboseyo" is how most Koreans answer the phone, and it can mean "hello", or "excuse me" to get someone's attention. The bright, clean store with its array of fun (spendy) boutique items certainly got MY attention. I got a latte (very nice) and a canned drink for my sister, and we also decided to share a pint of 626 ice cream--the burnt honey and barley flavor, upon the storekeeper's recommendation, and wow, it was amazing. It would've been nice to enjoy the coffee and ice cream in the store, but alas, no seating. We ended up taking our stuff outside to enjoy at one of the public areas in the Japanese Village.
