I love how awesome Janice is! (She didn't pay me to say that.. lol) always have a great time learning from her, she is patient, may be intimidating at first, but she is really good/nice and knows how to drill these popular drinks we learn in class by her hilarious methods. If you want to learn bartending, this is 100% the place to be at. #1 - you get your certificate in a timely manner, basically two weeks (mon-thurs) or two weekends in a row, #2 - you learn how to sharpen your mind through memorization, #3 - it is so good to have on your resume as far as new experiences/certifications, even if you don't decide to be a full-time bartender. Ask if they have specials going on and your money never expires. You can come in and review your material at any time before and after you have your certificate! I wanted to take the course because my friend kept running her mouth of drinks, cocktails, liqueurs and spirits like an expert. I was impressed, what was more impressing is the money that can be made in Bartending. So I called and Kim made it very easy to get into the earliest class they could offer. We had 3 instructors in the morning class Ryan, Janice and Kim. All three instructors are amazing with different types of teaching styles and personalities, which is a big plus because these are the personalities you are going to see and need to prosper in the spirit serving industry. Janice is great at teaching at a fast paced "drill sergent" style. She is fun, out-going and have a New-York Attitude to her. She is very good at teaching speed and what the right kind of attitude and personality is required behind the bar. Kim is a sweetheart. She is very nice and patient and will answer every question you have. She is very good at teaching the business side of things like tips, calculations, preparing multiple drinks at once, and bar terms. Ryan acts more like a guru of bartending. He came from a long line of bartenders in his family so his stories and side tracks are very valuable lessons to take home with you. His teaching style is more laid back then the rest of the instructors but still learned plenty from mixing drinks and cocktails. A buddy of mine decided to take bartending classes. After looking around I found abc bartending here on katella where I went and actually sat in on a class. That's when I met the one and only Janice!!!!!! Lol Janice is one of the instructors other than Kim. Janice is really cool down to earth and very helpful. The classes are fast and up tempo. I purchased a class for my friend since she has always wanted to get her bartender certificate. She had to be absent two days due to illness and when she contacted the person giving the training she was reassured her that she would be able to finish it with another group. My friend has been calling and trying to find the person that told her that she would be able to make up the days, without sucess. Her multiple messages via voice mail, texts and in person have been ignored. At this point I feel that my gift had no value and my friend's time and interest disregarded. Kim is the person that told my friend that it would be ok. Her inability to stand by her word and deliver what she promised do not speak highly of the school's respect of others. read more

I wenr to this school to see what it was about and to see if i was able to become a bartender without any experience. I have never had any more fun in a classroom in my life. In abc bartending school, you get the full experience being at a bar ! Not only do you learn the most popular cocktails but you get to make them during this course as well. It isnt real alcohol but the bottles they have are filled with water and food coloring. I had instuctors Ryan and Kim, they are extremely informative with important details and have amazing stories to share to the class. If anyone is looking to become a bartender this class is something you definitely would have to try out. I signed up for a class, not really sure what to expect. After talking to fellow coworkers and other people in the industry, I was told it is the biggest waste of time and money to do this class. The first day really proved to me that everyone else's opinions were completely wrong. The class and the people were amazing. We all got along great and I've never had so much fun in a school, haha. I'm glad to say that I had the best instructor, JT. She's extremely outgoing and makes the class fun. Kim also taught on one of the days and I was amazed at how similar both of their teaching styles were. It was very easy to understand and they made it so easy to memorize all the drinks. I definitely recommend this school and both teachers. I went in not knowing anything about mixology and came out at the end so confident about what I've learned.
