Our room was clean, so I was happy about that. A lot throughout the building is outdated. Given the…read morelocation, I suspect they have hard and/or rusty water. When I saw a sign that said that they sold .50 cent bottles of water when checking in, I thought at first it was just a very kind amenity. However, when I washed my hands in our room's sink, and black mold blew off the faucet opening into the basin, I understood the cheap drinking water. Soundproofing is not great, but I doubt the place ever gets booked up enough for that to really matter. The breakfast wasn't anything to brag about. They did have cereal and a waffle maker. However, they were out of sausage, and the egg-like disks were to be warmed in the microwave on styrofoam plates. One would also use styrofoam cups if they wanted to warm water for tea. I couldn't bring myself to drink the coffee due to not knowing what the water source was for that. With toast, bagels, English muffins and yogurt also available, one will not go hungry. Plus Kwik Trip is right across the street, and they have a wide range of food offerings, including Glazer doughnuts that give me life. The breakfast area's garbage lid was absolutely disgusting with such a build-up that takes at least weeks to get that way. It is the little things like that that cost nothing to spruce up. I'll forgive a stained wall or scuffed door. But a nasty garbage lid is not ok. On a positive note, the three staff members we encountered were all amazing, and the water pressure in the shower was awesome. Overall, if "okay enough" and "mostly clean" are acceptable to you, go for it. It's not posh, but it's not horrible either.

Comfort inn has a pool that it shares with guests of another local hotel about a mile away. The breakfast bar is not as good as others but it's still nothing to complain about when it's included in the room price. Juice, cereal, hard boiled egg. Breads rolls or doughnuts, coffee. What more do you need -- especially when you're traveling with kids. It's a fair price for the what you get. My only gripe would be with the toiletries in the room -- the lotion is nice, but the others? Meh. You're always better off with your own but if you forget, the local Pamida will come to the rescue.

My family and I stayed here over the weekend. We are very well traveled and know it's hard to make…read morea decision on where to stay with kids, especially when what you're used to isn't in town. We brought our older kids plus our little kids and dogs, and were in town for a large sporting event, so we had lots of gear, etc. Pros: The biggest pro: Customer service is 10/10, with hands-on ownership! We had some special circumstances and definitely troubled them with questions and needs, and they were amazingly accommodating. It also snowed overnight and the snow was cleared in a reasonable amount of time. - Pet friendly - Affordable - The heater worked very well. We are still acclimating to Wisconsin winter weather, and I was so glad when the room wasn't drafty despite sleeping next to the window. - Good proximity to everything you need. Only minutes from Walmart and seconds from several other places. Cons: - The building is on the older side, so if you have asthma or respiratory issues I do not recommend you stay here. However, nothing was broken, all the fixtures worked fine and we all had hot water. - The rooms are on the smaller side, but it was perfectly sufficient for our needs and it's a cozy place. Overall I would stay here again for the convenience and accommodating customer service, and for being family & pet friendly!

I went to put the chain on the door as I was facing the street and it didn't reach - since I don't know Medford it left me a little uneasy. The bed was comfortable - The window was open, so I closed & locked it and turned on the air which did put a slight musty smell in the room. I was told there was coffee in the morning and it was good but nothing else was offered for breakfast. The TV was so small and far away I could barely watch it. All in all not bad but not great. In a pinch I would stay again. Great staff is wonderful but rooms keep people coming back.

Worst check in experience I've ever had at a Holiday Inn…read more The woman was like a robot with a very negative message and attitude . (In monotone) "Welcome to the Holliday Inn, the pool is closed for remodeling, we do not offer free breakfast here because we are a conference center not a holiday inn express, enjoy your stay". First of all, why wasn't the pool closure shared when the reservation was made? Telling people when they check in (unless it was a last minute issue) is pretty damn shady. My next issue was the breakfast comment by, I didn't ask about any breakfast (because I know Holiday Inns don't offer it) so why give me a lecture about this is not an Express? Next I got to my room and turned on the TV and found that all channels have digital numbers (such as 49.1). The cheep remote only has whole numbers so it is absolutely worthless! You can't key in a number like 49.1, you have to start at the bottom and work your way through the entire list of channels! They have approximately 80 channels available and you have to click up or down (one by one) to get to each station. (So if you want to change the channel may have to go though all 80 channels to find your program). Don't even think about surfing for something to watch! The TV has no menu so you have to just sit and press up and down until you might find something to watch. Frustrating to say the least! I really thought I was wrong about the horrible TV situation so I called the front desk and asked how to change the channel and I was told "with the remote". (Yeah.... Wasn't impressed with that response!) I used to stay at this hotel a lot in the past (for work) but had some issues. It's been a while so I Thought I'd give them a try again, this will be my last. Workers with bad attitudes are unfortunately becoming more and more of the norm of late, and I hate to completely blame businesses for the talent pool of employees that are out there. But, the cheapness of the small TV and worthless remote, and the poor communication about the pool has made me wish I would have stayed elsewhere. If you don't watch TV or don't care if a hotel has a hot tub or pool (hopefully this will be fixed sooner than later) than maybe you'll be happy here. Bed was comfortable and the room was clean.
