My wife had some work done on her Elantra this week. Just for comparison sake, she had gotten another estimate from a competitor. That competitor was $800 higher for the same work and they were not going to be able to do the work for another week or two. As always, everyone was professional, polite, and courteous. Another 5 Star rating! read more

My experience with Abbott's Precision Collision was extremely disappointing. After bringing my vehicle in, I discovered they never installed the wheel well liner, and the paint on the bumper began peeling soon after the repair. When I returned to have the bumper repainted, it took more than a week with no updates. Communication was practically nonexistent--calls went unanswered, and there was no voicemail available to leave a message. I won't get in to the paint & flex color matching. The lack of care, follow‑up, and basic customer service made this an overall terrible experience. I cannot recommend them based on what I went through. read more

Where to start... I dropped my truck off and didn't hear from them for almost 2 weeks despite leaving messages asking for updates. They do not answer their phone (ever) and will not return calls. I finally got a text when it was ready for pick up. They repeatedly tried to cut corners on the work done. Luckily the insurance estimator wouldn't have it. In the end they still didn't do some of the work that the insurance estimator requested. However, they did charge for it. I went to Abbott's because they have been a Lafayette staple for years. Pretty disappointed by the level of service. read more

** Avoid at all cost ** My car had a collision on the front right bumper. The bumper rail got impacted and slightly bent + radiator leaked (so it had to be replaced). I towed my car here for a repair according to a recommendation of the police officer. After 14 days, I got the car back but they did really poor job at repairing (especially aligning the frame; see pictures). They could pull just a little further to make all parts aligned, but chose to deliver me anyways. The impact I got is minor as you can see from the picture of frame under hood. Complained about the misalignment and all they did was putting glue & trying to make side and front bumper stick together. The glue lasted but only for a couple of days. Went back again to and was told to pay more for a repair. I obviously declined their offer. read more

I am an auto insurance adjuster. For over twenty years I have worked with body shops in the repair of vehicles. When my own vehicle needed repair, and I was paying out of pocket, I chose Abbott's Precision Collision.  I am extremely pleased with all aspects of my experience. The communication with the shop was outstanding. The service performed was second-to-none. My car was put back to showroom shape. The price was very fair.  I highly recommend Jason, Chandra, and the staff at Abbott's Precision Collision for any work needed on a vehicle.  Paul Amerson Independent Claims Adjuster read more

Have had a very frustrating experience here. They had my car for 4 weeks. After week 1, I got a call my car was done. I drove all the way across town to find out it was not done and even though they had called me, they confused me with someone else. Fast forward to week 4, which was yesterday. I was called that my car was done, so drove across town again. When I arrived, I paid my deductible and started moving stuff from the rental to my current car. When I opened my doors, I was disgusted at the mess they left inside my car. There was grease, paint all over the seats, dirt, and more. It was unreal. I wasn't going to say anything, but decided I better. I went inside and asked the nice lady to come outside. I asked if they left all their customer's vehicles like this after they fixed them. She was mortified and told me they would clean it and to come back when it was done. A few hours later I got a call that it was done. I drove across town again to pick up. This time it was raining profusely, so I didn't have time to check the back end of my car as well as I had hoped. I moved all my stuff over, got in my car, and went home. When I pulled in my garage and took a look at the back, I noticed they did not fix a major problem. The trunk lid was not aligned at all and because of that everything they had moved from the inside of my car (when they detailed it) to my trunk was soaked from the rain. Even a blind person could have seen the trunk was still messed up. I can't believe they let me drive it home that way. I feel honestly nuts, but in reality the lack of communication at this place is unreal. Clearly nobody is working together or none of these issues would have happened. Guess what? Now I have to go back across town to get this fixed! Just what I want to do with my time. I would never recommend this place in a million years. read more

You should only choose this disappointment of a body shop if you don't want your work done on time and don't want the work you requested to be done. I requested a rocker panel replacement, and got a little metal welded to the rusted areas. Only a fraction of the work promised was done, and it took 2 extra days. I had to point out to the owner that sections of my vehicle weren't even painted. Poor workmanship is an understatement. read more

I would definitely recommend this body shop for any vehicle repairs! My car was damaged from the recent hail storm and initially I just dropped by for an estimate but to my surprise they were able to get my car in that day to start the repairs! They supplied me with a free rental and had my repairs completed in just a couple days! Not only did my car look AMAZING when I got it back but it had also been detailed inside and out! I was completely satisfied with my experience here and would highly recommend them! Not to mention the girl running the office named Chandra I think was a true sweetheart and was happy to answer all my questions about the process! I will definitely be coming back! read more

Had my Dodge Intrepid involved in a bad accident. The guy fixed it back to near-perfect condition, and was very friendly and prompt in delivery. No hidden charges or additional bills. Extremely professional in work; rather than replacing all new parts, they recommended used parts for the damaged ones (which saved a lot of money), and it was almost as good as new. If you are in Lafayette (or nearby), this IS the place to go for collision repairs. read more

For a body shop I expected attention to detail. I took my truck in for body work, I was told 5 days, 10 days later I got a truck back with broken trim pieces and a broken side mirror. The parts were replaced with knock offs and I later found over spray everywhere. In less than a year it was rusting from the repaired areas. read more

We recently used Abbott's Precision Collision repair just for a car rental service. It was recommended by a local mechanic. We received a car, had it for 3 days, went and returned it. When returning it, it was very busy, phone ringing off hooks, very chaotic. After waiting about 20 minutes for the young girl's computer to work to print an invoice and pay bill, we paid our bill and left. Then a couple days later our insurance company tells us there is a claim on our insurance. We call the insurance company, and Abbott's is claiming we damaged the bumper of the car we had rented. We left the car in pristine condition, probably cleaner than we received it. We certainly didn't damage the car. We called Abbott's to see if maybe they had the wrong account or something, they then said we had left before the "inspection" and couldn't call us to tell us. (They had our cell phone number on the rental agreement so that was a lie.) AND despite I had stood there 20 minutes and even had to run back inside to get my debit card I almost forgot, never a mention of waiting for an "inspection." This is unbelievable BAD BUSINESS, poor customer service and extremely shady. I cannot believe a local business would flat out lie about this and try to get money from people. We had been considering the company for some body work we wanted done on another car we own, but now will tell everyone we know about this crooked behavior. Luckily I work in marketing and know A LOT of people including those in the mayor's office, police station, Purdue and other government agencies, and I am involved in the community. Everyone will know about this SCAM and I hope it can prevent others to potentially falling victim to it. read more

I had an accident near LaFayette and ended up having to get some serious repairs (including a whole transmission replacement). They were very honest, got it done pretty cheap and quickly and then helped me when some other problems came up, even though I was already in Illinois. I was very impressed with their honesty and follow-up. I would recommend them any day. read more

I had a very good experience at Abbots. I hit a coyote on N. River Rd. which completely ruined the front bumper of my car. I went to a couple of body shops in the lafayette area. This was by far the cheapest quote. Other places wanted to replace things that were not even linked to the accident. I was promised that the car would be ready by 12p.m. the next day and it was ready as promised. read more
