Abby Towing & Wrecking was incredibly helpful during a stressful situation with my wrecked vehicle on the highway. They were friendly, patient, and responsive from the start. They checked their system, sent me a text so I could pin the location, and when the vehicle wasn't there, they quickly canceled the tow and helped me figure out where it may have been taken. They explained it was likely picked up by the Sheriff's office. I really appreciated their professionalism and kindness. Had my transmission gear linkage go out while backing out of a parking spot in a parking garage, blocking all traffic during rush hour. Needless to say, this was a super stressful situation. After 4 hours trying to get someone out to help me, Anthony from Abbey's Wrecker Service came to the rescue. Without even seeing my car he knew exactly what was wrong with it and gave me hope that it will be a simple fix to get it down from the 4th floor of a low-ceilinged parking garage, safely onto the tow truck, and over to the mechanic. 6:58 PM (318-19) and we are still sitting here waiting for a tow truck service. 2+ hours, it isn't so much the time waiting that disturbs me but more of the fact that the tow truck service member claimed he could not find us. As you can see in my photos I was holding back four lanes of traffic, kind of impossible if you happen to come to the correct address. Even after returning his call and me leaving three voicemails he still would not answer my calls! I put in a complaint with USAA hopefully they take you all out of their contract! read more

As a Geico car insurance customer, I needed my 2008 Mercedes Benz towed several weeks ago. I had a flat spare tire on the car, it's stem broken from a previous tow truck service. My original tire, was flat too, in my car's trunk, the rubber half off the rim. So needing a flat bed tow truck was essential. My insurance company hires this Abbey Wrecker to service their customers, which it shouldn't. This guy is very rude, very unsafe, and quite unprofessional. He shows up earlier than anticipated, which is great. But than his horrible customer service shows itself fast. As he is positioning his tow truck to get my car harnished onto the flatbed. He demands my car keys to drive my car forward so it is closer to the lift. He didn't ask nicely or say, okay we need to move your car closer. It was rudely, I am driving your car, move out of my way lady kinda behavior. I just don't like rude or insulting people. I refuse to support them or their business. For two seconds, I ignore his comment. Before I hand over my keys, I ask him. Will driving on my flat spare tire rim damage it?? I asked nicely. This dude is such a hot head. He says forget it. Say what?? He says I don't need your bs. What?? Asking a question is not unacceptable. But apparently it is to the guy who runs this wrecking business. And he does the unthinkable. He starts to put everything back, hops into his truck, and takes off. Yup. He leaves me standing in the street with my jaw on the ground. Like for reallys dude. But believe me, it was a blessing in disguise. After reading previous reviews one sees how dangerous this guy is. And I am glad I didn't get into his truck and risk my life. It's crazy to think GEICO actually contracts business with this guy. Of course I called them back for a different tow service. But to question why a wrecker service with a dangerous record of causing accidents and a clear history of horrible business practices is an active account. Like how does that happen?? Sloppy business practices. Sad. Very sad. Do yourself a favor. Never use a wrecker for a tow service. They are not equipped. And this guy is not someone you want to do business with. If I could give zero stars, I certainly would. This is the MOST unprofessional place I have ever experienced. My 2016 dodge would not start up. I reside downtown which means my car is parked in the parking garage. The woman dispatched, rode pass the building, never looked for my vehicle and made the assumption that there was no way she could get my car out of the garage. When I asked her had she inspected the location of the car to see if retrieval of the vehicles was in fact possible, she immediately got upset and began talking to roadside assistance as if I wasn't there, " I'm not doing it! Arturo, I have already told him, I Amy disconnecting the call. I am not ruining my truck to get his." Ridiculous to say the least. This place insisted that I stay home from work to allow them into the parking garage, although I had already set up garage access with the apartment's management team. Despite complying with their request, my vehicle still did not get towed, I'm late for work, and now I have to wait an additional hour due to her incompetence. 0 stars. For those reading I don't know where to start. On the 14th of November I was hit on the highway leaving my vehicle totaled. The driver came to the scene loaded the car and left. Understandably enough I was out of it and had assumed the cops gave the driver my contact info and address. (I saw them talking for 10 min). An hour passes and still no tow truck driver. I had to go through 5 phone calls just to get the drivers number and upon calling him I get a mouth full. He claimed to never get the address but that begs the questions.. who leaves with someone else's property knowing it needs to be dropped off without getting an address? Never have I seen this in the towing industry. I had paid the driver to drop it off at my house, but instead I had a grown man cussing me out over the phone at full volume at 5am. Professional service right? To make matters worse he blocked me and my buddies number after telling us he would rather drive the extra hour to the impound lot instead of 5 min down the road with MY property. Half an hour passes and the driver unblocks my number and gives me a call asking me not to report the car stolen. For anyone reading this choose any other company and thank me later, and for the business owner if you're reading this you clearly don't know how to run a business in this industry do yourself and everyone else a favor and shutdown. You and your people are some of the rudest, most ill mannered, inconsiderate, unprofessional people I've ever come across. That's putting it nicely. After asking around no one had anything good to say about this company so how about some tips: 1. Request the address you're delivering to BEFORE leaving. 2. Hire some professionals who know how to talk to a customer. 3. Learn some social skills. This is a business after all.. 4. I would give zero stars if I could. Abbey's Towing was assigned to pick up my car through Progressive Roadside Assistance. If they assign them - immediately cancel and request a new provider. The original estimate was 45 minutes. I called when no one showed and was told it would be another hour. I waited... and called again. I was told "traffic was building" and they had been prioritized to other calls. I told them I was sitting outside in 100 degree weather and they told me to sit under a tree. DID NOT CARE. Progressive then called and said it would be THREE more hours before they could get to me. Just cancel if they are assigned to pick you up or don't even call them in the first place. Worst service ever almost had to call the police! Tow guy had anger problems. Tow guy refused to tow my vehicle even after my Dad jump start the car and I pulled it out the drive way. Mind you I understand his position of why he couldn't get it out the drive way the first time. But please save the attitude. Understand that sometimes you don't know what someone else's struggles are. I have a smile on my face and greeted you nicely Sir. You didn't have to yell from across the street instructions. Absolutely terrible company from start to finish. I was provided the service through USAA. The company didn't show up on time. When they attempted to coordinate pick up, the dispatcher belittled me and was incredibly condescending. On arrival, the driver was rude, refused to listen, was condescending and blamed me for issues. On top of that, he threatened to withhold service despite having received payment already. The driver also threatened to leave my car in a vacant lot instead of my intended destination. When I went to pick up my vehicle, I found that it had been ransacked (the 2 other cars in the same lot were scott free). My car manual was stolen, other miscellaneous items, personal effects, my car title and registration as well as my iPhone charter. When i attempted to find resolution with the company directly, they were incredibly defensive and accusatory, they didn't believe the story and acted like I was the bad guy. I own a subaru so I actually used this service through subaru roadside assistance. The first driver showed up and unfortunately couldnt get his truck through the gate at my apartment building. He seemed to actively trying to NOT be helpful. My car was beyond dead, I couldnt even unlock it to pop the trunk for a jump. He told me to call his dispatcher, who then told me to tell him to call her...the dispatcher was very nice, explained I would have to get wheeled out, etc. but also that her one truck that had that ability was out and it would be an hour. Well at this rate I had already waited so fine. The reason they get 4 stars honestly, is because of the man that I ultimately dealt with. I didnt catch his name and I really wish I had. He was a tall middle aged african american man, he was so nice!! He wisely reminded me that I do have an actual key that will unlock my car when the power lock is off (Can you tell this is my first car haha), and then he was able to jump me and we were done! He was very friendly and gave me good advice as what I should do next and made sure to stay with my car while I ran in and got my purse to drive to a car place. I had the bad luck of my car breaking down while in a parking garage -- while many other towing companies said they couldn't get my car out of the garage, Abbey's said they could! My tow came right when they said it would and the driver worked tirelessly to get my car out of that garage (which was tricky to navigate)! Being in the wrecker business in Dallas for over 15 years I was informed by their driver they were in the market for trucks & to call the shop. Due to the fact I have a whole fleet for sale & we closed our towing company. After telling Karen I had spoke to her driver she basically called me a liar and said "you didn't speak to one of our drivers". Well I hate to break it to you but now I understand the piss poor reviews. For future reference if you were that quick & rude calling people liars I would've fired your ass a long time ago. Horrible service. Called for service at 6pm, was told the tow truck would be here by 7:04pm. At 7:15, no tow truck in sight, so I called to check on the status. The woman who answered the phone immediately took a rude tone and told me that there were two police emergencies and that my service had been delayed. (Would've been nice if someone had called to tell me this) I was then told that the driver was on his way and would be with me in 15-20 minutes. 35 minutes later I called back because I was still waiting. This time, I was told that he was on his way but had to stop for gas and would be arriving in a few minutes. I asked how far away he was and she told me that he was at the city impound lot (20 mins away) because he had 2 police emergencies. 20 minutes later, still no sign. I called again, and was immediately told that she had just talked to him and he was almost there. When I expressed my frustration she said she could cancel the service and make me wait another hour. (?!?!?!) apparently she realizes how easy it is to take advantage of someone in need. Very unprofessional, unfriendly, and downright rude. Shame on Abbey's and the rude lady on the phone for not being sympathetic to someone in a vulnerable and frustrating situation. read more

Horrendous service. Was told wait would be 90 minutes max. Received a call verifying this time. When 90 minutes passed and I called for clarification Carrie was horrifically rude and exhibited unacceptable customer service. She informed me the wait would be at least 25 more minutes. I expressed shock and distain with two hot babies in the car. In addition to other offense remarks and snarky attitude she responded, "well do you want our service or not? You are welcome to call another tow company." So I did. I am also filing a formal complaint with my road side assistance. read more

My insurance company set up Abbey's with towing my wrecked car from the Dallas Pound to the body shop. My car arrived at the body shop with damages that were not associated with the accident. I had to file another claim with my insurance company for the damage Abbey's caused and pay a deductible. I provided pictures of damaged pieces that were on the ground next to the car where they dropped it off at the body shop to prove they were the only ones who could have caused the damage. They denied responsibility and now I'm out of a deductible for something that was completely out of my hands. Take ownership of your actions and accept responsibility, especially when you have insurance to cover such things. read more

I called to report the claim to the manager, Karen - she told me basically to file a police report and there was nothing she could do. Abbey's Wrecker Service was assigned to my AT&T Roadside Assistance call today. When I initially made my call, AT&T(Assurion) informed me that the driver would be there to tow my vehicle in "less than an hour". Unfortunately, the driver did not show up for TWO hours. In the meantime, I called At&T (Assurion) to follow-up on the call- each time, I was placed on hold as they contacted Abbey's dispatch. Each time the response was either "The driver is around the corner" or "He'll be there in 5 minutes". Once the driver finally showed up, I asked him what took so long and explained how long I had been waiting. He showed me his dispatch phone where they had contacted him only 10 minutes prior to tell him to come to my location. Obviously, the dispatch was either lying to AT&T(Assurion) or AT&T(Assurion) was lying to me about what the dispatch said. In any event, I waited in 106 degree heat for the driver to finally come. read more
