The staff was exceptional! Besides CiCi our awesome server, two other employees came by our table to check on us to make sure everything was great! The restaurant has multiple seating options. I look forward to dining outside when the weather breaks!

For our appetizer we ordered Firecracker shrimp, Fried green tomatoes, and Sweet potato muffins. We also had the complimentary corn bread. The appetizers and sweet potatoes muffins were delicious. The cornbread was dense and okay. For our main course we ordered turkey chops, and they came with two sides. We chose mac and cheese and red beans and rice. The turkey chops were ok but the sides were trash. The red beans and rice were (see picture) dry and the macaroni and cheese (see pictures) as well. The mac and cheese was cheeseless. We also ordered the catfish dinner with okra and yams. The yams were delicious and the okra was okay. The catfish skin was dark like old oil was used. It appeared to be cornmeal fried and hard. I should have specified how I wanted them. We also order the waffle and the chickens and there were no complaints. Honestly, we've been to Cornbread many times. Previously, I've always given 5 stars and haven't ever had any complaints but something drastically changed. The drinks as well didn't taste the same and we were told that the bartender was new. We didn't want to complain or send our food back due to our past experiences at other restaurants but we did take pictures. The service was great. But honestly, I do not believe that we will ever return.

The fish was soooooo good. Fresh, hot, and lightly sprinkled with lemon pepper. It wasn't fried too hard, it was just right. The fries were crispy and delicious. My second trip, one of the most memorable. I ordered the fish and fries again of course But this time I ordered shrimp and to my surprise a bbq chicken pizza. When I tell you everything was delicious and on point. I couldn't leave from in front of the building before I ate a slice of pizza and some fish. If you haven't been, im telling you now, you are missing out on a gem and delicious food. Just tell them that LaKisha sent you!

I usually order online ahead of time for convenience's sake and when I pick up, every time I get get there I'm blown away by the hot food display other food items that are available daily and are not on the online menu. Nevertheless I'm always more than satisfied with the long list of soul food items on the online menu. I especially like the variety of green vegetable choices. You can order Green Beans, Collard Greens, Mixed Vegetables or Salads. Plus, Baked and Grilled meats, love their Meatloaf, Salmon, Shrimp, Baked Chicken and everything else, their Yams are to die! for. The online ordering is smooth and so is all the staff there, lead by the charming & funny counter person Marlene

Craving soul food after a funeral and thought of past food from Mookey's. Rib tip dinner was pricey…read moreat $25 for what was provided. Originally I had 6 pieces of meat in the meal but I thankfully checked my bag as directed to on the signs. I inquired and the container was filled with what I should have gotten as a dinner. Maybe the staff member was new that initial did my order. They were polite. More than 1/2 was tough, some even so much not edible. Disappointing because I really wanted some rib tips. The cornbread was dry and crumbly. Cornbread is not difficult or long cooking so I'm not sure why I'd get old cornbread midday on a Saturday. Or they need to retool the recipe. In my head, I would think that portions would be sampled by the cook to ensure consistency, but I've never worked in a fast past restaurant so I don't know the process. Sides: dressing was good and not overly salty. Yams had too much sugar for me. I bought another meal for someone to eat and I hope it was better. A 1/2 chicken meal was $20. Overall, not with the $25+ tax I paid today. The staff was pleasant. The area was kept clean. However, the meat was a failure. I would be fine paying $25 of the meat was cooked correctly. I would not recommend going here for bbq as they have a not cash return policy. It is store credit or a gift card even if the food is poorly made. Likely need to go to a bbq specific restaurant next time. I have no plans on driving way back to the restaurant and just count it as a loss. The prices are equivalent to sit down restaurants without the service or quality.
