I had a salad and garlic bread with some onion rings. The first two were very good ; the onion rings were lacking( tasted like Mrs Paul's with minced onion). My husband had the lamb. He said it was good. I would definitely return and might try something different.

If you're looking for decent food with an interesting menu, I recommend this place. I had Halibut Havana style with cuban rice, which I found tasty. One person who had the same dish as me suggested it could use a bit of heat, but I don't think everyone would feel the same. It is tucked into a courtyard away from the bustle of the Latin Quarter and gives one a great atmosphere to talk and eat comfortably without having to leave.

I resorted to a mixed drink, but the waitress recommended a Shiraz that she thought was very good. She offered a sample and she was right! What a great wine!! Definitely went better with the steak than the gin and tonic I was turning to. Very nice establishment. It was clean and nicely decorated.

The Pqrk House Hotel Restaurant never disappoints. This is an updated review to say that this…read morerestaurant has the gold standard in traditional Irish food, ambiance, and hospitality. Simon, the overseer of the restaurant, makes sure that each guest feels welcome and satisfied. The hot food comes on hot plates and is fresh and tasty. The lamb is especially well prepared and comes in a delicious sauce. The veg are fresh, not canned, and not overcooked. The desserts are delicious and we especially enjoy the different flavors of ice cream and chocolate or butterscotch sauce. This is a traditional restaurant and what they do, they do extremely well.

The supper club like atmosphere and the heavy cream sauces serve as a mainstay in the local dining scene, nothing special. I had the unfortunate experience of getting food poisoning from oysters. As we were guests at the hotel, we spoke with the staff the next day, who were exceedingly kind and attentive. They assured us the kitchen reviews the shellfish with extra care, though one bad one apparently got through. That, while a rare event, would be enough for me to not recommend this place, but in addition to the lackluster dining, this is definitely a 'skip'.

Duck fat toasties... probably really bad for you, but it tasted pretty good. Cost: 6 The food seemed slightly overly priced until you realize that it is in Euros. Paid $10 for a small cocktail which was missing one of the ingredients... a discount on the drink woul dhave been nice since it wasn't what was advertised. All in all it was a good, but not particularly memorable. Note to travellers: They don't accept American Express.

The combination of both work really well because the shrimp is perfectly fried. There is also plenty of both. It kinda reminded me of a Po Boy in New Orleans because you get a little lagniappe, or a freebie of food, with your order. Change the bun to a Leidenheimer roll and you have New Orleans in Galway. Perhaps that is appropriate because of the cultural streets and the narrow alleyways, and it is right on the water.

Unfortunately they were already sold out but we got a dozen local oysters, seafood chowder and fillet of hake. Paired with a 12-year Redbreast, a single pot still Irish whiskey. The chowder was packed full of fish including hake and salmon. It's a bit thinner than American chowders but made with local cream and no potatoes. It's a hearty bowl packed with seafood and no fillers. The oysters are Kelly Gigas, and many connoisseurs claim the west coast of Ireland produces the best oysters in the world. It was €36 per dozen and they were indeed excellent. The Fillet of Hake, Grilled and served with sweet potato puree, green vegetables and a coconut ginger, chilli and coriander sauce. This was outstanding. The house made Irish brown bread with softened butter was the best we've had so far.

Too much traffic, glass bottles dropping (crashing) in to a bin. Could've done without that, startling every time someone dropped or threw a bottle in. On to the rest of the experience. We got set very quickly, upon verifying our reservation. Took too long for the server to come around and off us anything. Got our drink order in, drinks cane pretty quickly, bottles of beer and a pour of wines. Food orders got in shortly afterwards, with the wait time not taking too long. Our group ordered the Tempura Prawns, Grilled Hake with mashed potatoes & broccolini, grilled hake with chips & broccolini, seafood linguine. Everything was prepared nicely and tasted quite good. Good volume of food too, nobody left hungry. The service... not that great. Really took away from the overall experience. Not engaging, not explaining dishes, kinda cold! Took multiple tries to get their attention. Not a complete showstopper but could definitely use improvement. Cheers.
