Price inflation and chip shortages made me fear that I was in for yet another headache in shopping for major appliances. I didn't need a gleaming new appliance set, just something simple and reliable, ideally name brand, that wouldn't break the piggy bank. Well, that's what I got. Dad and I just hooked up both units and they work just fine (after swapping out a rubber washer on one of the hookup hoses). Consider this: All the chips, sensors and computerized stuff has made appliances both more expensive and more complicated to repair. Midtown Appliance seems to have more of the older, mechanical models and doesn't mess with the touchy, wonky technology. It makes sense.

Waits fixed the issue in one day, explained it to me, and were very knowledgeable and helpful, and the repair price was reasonable. If they had needed to order parts, the turn-around time might have been a little longer? I discovered that they are also very knowledgeable about older, mechanical machines, as well as the newer ones, and even can refurbish treadle machines. :) AND they work on industrial machines and sergers. I would not hesitate to recommend Waits. As a matter of fact, my Jazz 2 just stopped working again yesterday, and Waits will be where I take it. As an aside---the older machines didn't tend to break down, and wear out parts like these newer ones do---Waits also buys older machines, refurbishes them, and puts them up for sale. One that did everything you wanted might be a better deal than these new-fangled ones, and Waits might also be a help there.
