I needed to replace a key fob for my equinox. Knowing how expensive going through a dealer would be I opted to get the fob on Amazon. I tried getting it cut at some other places but had no luck. I came across Aaron's and they were able to do the job and even offered to program it for me. She also explained how to program it and I did it myself in the parking spot outside. A friendly person answered and quickly connected me with someone to unlock my car. I was out of town so this was especially helpful for me. Let me say my husband and I drive older vehicles. As in you can go to your local hardware store and get a key cut for under two bucks. Well we bought a jeep. As it happens it has a chipped key...sigh. No fob just the key. And said jeep came with one key. Now I don't know about you but one key is never going to work. I want at least three keys. One for me, one for hubby and a spare. You know just in case. So I proceed to call the local dealerships to find the cost of getting these chipped keys. I damn near fell out of my chair when they told me the price for each key would be 145.00. For ONE key. And of course that doesn't include the programming for said keys. That cost is another 75-150 bucks depending on which dealership you call. So all in for three keys plus programming is going to run me 510.00-585.00 which is insane. Let's not even get into the whole...I would have to set up an appointment and then they still apparently need the jeep for several hours. GAH. As I sit here mentally chewing out dealerships and their insane pricing....hence the reason we wrench on our own vehicles.... , questioning my life choices in buying a vehicle that needs expensive keys and asking WHY there is even a need for chipped keys. Anti theft...pfffft. The damn thing is a stick...that's pretty anti theft to begin with. I figure surely there must a cheaper source for these damn chipped keys. That took me down the rabbit hole of ordering your own...keys are super cheap that way...and programming yourself. Of course there is no guarantee said keys will work when done. I then have a lightbulb moment....why not see if a locksmith can make these keys. Aaron's came up in the search so I called and talked to a wonderful lady named Tammy. She quoted me 30.00 a key and a 50.00 fee for the programming, gave me their hours, told me they had those keys in stock and I could stop in any time during open hours. The only bummer is they no longer have a Janesville location and we'd have to go to Beloit. No biggie but just letting anyone know if you're in Janesville you'll need to head down to Beloit. Hubby and I went down there yesterday. I did not get the name of the guy who waited on us and cut and programmed the keys but he was AWESOME. We were there for maybe all of 15 minutes and all keys work perfectly and we were on our way. All for a total all in cost of 147.00...that's with tax. So THREE keys and the programming of them for the price it would have cost for the key only at a dealership. Not to mention you get to support the small business owner. I'm putting that in the win column. If you need a chipped key save your time and money and head down to Aaron's. You will be glad you did. read more

Called in for late night service and waited over two hours for them to show up. The call center contacted me every hour to see if the on-call person had shown up or called me (which they hadn't). Unreliable service. Take your business elsewhere. read more

Good service initially and got me into a locked car. But in the process damaged the locking mechanism so the key no longer works in said lock. And it's the only keyhole in the whole car (Ford's fault). So now if the remote stops working there's no way to open the locked vehicle. They wouldn't fix it for free. Then they wouldn't fix it at all because they were afraid they'd hurt the paneling in the cold weather and they don't have a garage. read more

Lifesavers! Locked my keys in my car while at work. Called every locksmith in the area and none could help. Aaron's said they did have a big job that day but they would speed out and fit me in. Got into my car in less than 2 minutes and cost less than the last time I did this to myself. Very nice guys, definitely recommend. read more

What happened to customer service? The woman who answered my call this morning was anything but helpful. Had know idea of when they could service me and suggested that I call another day. When asked if she was the regular receptionist, she replied," well yeah." Go somewhere else. read more

Called at 11:02PM - They said that someone would be there in a half hour. 1 hour later, I called back and the guy took my number again and said someone would be there shortly. 45 minutes later and I called back again.... NOW after sitting outside in the dark in the cold and rain for over 2 hours, he tells me that I should maybe call someone else because he still has not been able to get ahold of his on-call guy! What the Hell!!!! It's 36 degrees out and it's raining! Couldn't you have told me this after the first half hour!!!! I ended up having to break into my house!
