My wife and I were looking for an inexpensive washer/dryer set but didn't really want to buy a used…read moreone from someone's basement. Searzone had an ad on Craigslist for a new set for $800, so we drove there. As you drive north up Gratiot, the area is an abysmal pit filled with dollar stores, wig shops, used car lots, and hand-me-down appliance dumps. We were afraid Searzone would be like that too, but alas, the grass was greener a block north of Eight Mile. The building looks unimpressive from the outside, but the inside is a well-packed and organized layout of every imaginable appliance and some furniture. I don't recall the salesman's name, but he wasn't the kind that pressures you to buy some shit merchandise with fake awesome deals. The set we saw on Craigslist was displayed on the floor for us to see. We kind of wanted to buy the set with their financing since we were unsure if we wanted to spend so much at once, but their credit plan would've cost us over $300 more in the long run (even if we paid it off within three months before more interest accumulated). The salesman was friendly and explained their payment options thoroughly. So, we decided to pay the $800 price, and it was $50 for delivery and installation--even though we lived 25 miles away. He seemed more gracious that we paid cash up front. In the end with tax, we paid $951 for a brand new Whirlpool washer and Amana gas dryer, and with that, he threw in all the components to hook it up: vent, gas line, water lines. We bought it on Saturday, and it was delivered and installed on Tuesday. I researched the set we bought, and the price we paid was a fair price. Plus, I am a supporter of small businesses. For their credit, they don't run a credit check, which is good since I have bad credit. They run a check on your bank account--how often have you overdrawn, missed bank payments, bounced checks, or if your account has had $0 for the past year. With my good bank history, he offered me $1,705 in credit that I could use later if I wanted. I might go back there and see what kind of furniture they have.

I wouldn't recommend you buy from this appliance store. A red flag should have gone up when I seen…read morethat the appliances in the store had dryer sheets inside them. Once I got my refrigerator home and plugged up the smell of mildew was in both my fridge and freezer. The manage, Danielle tells me the warranty doesn't cover smell. What!!!??? Now I have to purchase another refrigerator from a professional, reputable establishment. Check their review they have many unsatisfied customers.
