His actions resulted in a three to four month coma with little-to-no chance of survival. I am only here today by the GRACE of GOD and my praying family. Shakeel acted as though my condition was of no importance or serious. The near fatal tragedy, to date, has lasting, ongoing effects. I ask myself, "Did he perform my surgery with his eyes closed?" I've been and currently am going through a lot. I wouldn't refer a corpse to him let alone a living, human being. Thank you. Have a blessed day. GOD loves you. (even you, Shakeel.) Do better, and try to humble yourself. You were quite berating and short with the nurses and other staff. The manner in which you spoke to them was demeaning, rude and unnecessary. Seek help.

First off let me explain that I teetered with ranking this at 2-stars. I'm giving 2 stars because I…read moresurvived, It could have been a worse situation and the staff wasn't as bad as some may have encountered on their own personal experiences. Thank God the was no requirement for wearing masks any longer though. I had a colonoscopy and endoscopy last Thursday. To begin with and from a "customer service" standpoint I cannot figure out why he requires physically bringing all medications to EACH appointment that you have with him, regardless of the medications already being documented in your records and no changes whatsoever. But they WILL send you home if you happen to forget bringing the actual prescription bottles with you for each appointment. Also, he has no online check-in for any appointments. Very archaic for these days. I found the staff as being professional but seemingly overworked and testy because of that. My appointment for the procedure was for early afternoon for some reason (especially challenging to me because of the required 24+ hour fasting beforehand) and with everyone I encountered it seemed that they might have been cranking out procedures as if they were on an assembly line, herding cattle. The day of the procedures I realized that this was a Soviet-style medical set-up for a colonoscopy and endoscopy. The procedures were done inside his office building (!), not inside a hospital like I've had done 2 previous occasions back home in Texas. The prep room was inside an expanded office space, sectioned off with hospital-style draping separating 4, maybe 5 of us. The woman on the other side of the drapery from me was "hacking up a lung" with all of her coughing (thank God draperies were there) but it seriously raised questions about the sanitation conditions of the area because we were all within such close proximity of each other. When I was wheeled in for the actual procedure I was carted into another converted "office" area!! I was honestly looking around checking sanitary conditions for things like cobwebs (I never saw any). I noticed stereo equipment, pictures, books etc. I was thinking I was in a dream to tell the truth. Afterward, I was told by Dr. Pai that I don't need another colonoscopy for 5 years. Keep in mind though that I he did mention that I had a biopsy from the endoscopy that performed at the same time. He simply mentioned that the biopsy was taken and would need to get results from the tests and follow up with me by phone. I had no problem with that at that time. I find that it's important to understand that there was ZERO mention by Dr. Pai as to the frequency of needed follow-up endoscopies - I learned THAT from my PCP with whom I happened to have a routine appointment with the very day (I showed her printed results of the previous day)!! She was seemingly surprised at the procedures that I described. I noticed that she made a personal note regarding this, likely for future referrals that she might need. I can assure you that I will be seeking other doctors for any follow up procedures going forward rather than Dr. Pai.
