I usually go to another healthcare system in the city, but they were super rude on the phone with me and couldn't get me in for over 6 months, so I looked at some of my other referrals, and this one popped up. From the minute they called me to schedule, they were SO NICE. I was like...is this even a medical facility? They were super thorough before making sure they had everything they needed. I showed up 15 minutes before my appointment and they had me back right on time. The facility is super clean and the staff was SO NICE. Either their office culture is amazing or they do a good job of faking it because the energy here was awesome. I saw Dr. Dixit, and I have been hyping him up since. I've seen a few different specialists (rheumatologists, endocrinologists, etc) in the past and he is hands down the best specialist I have EVER seen. He took the time to really listen, had great questions for me which he had valuable input on, and was so kind. His bedside manner is the best. They were super quick to get my testing done, without making me feel rushed, and Dr. Dixit explained everything. Oddly enough, I didn't test positive for any allergies - I anticipated feeling like I was crazy once I got my results, but NOPE. Dr. Dixit continued to be a phenomenal physician with empathy. He explained other causes of my symptoms and validated that they were real. He came up with a solution for me, and answered all my questions - he didn't even bat an eye when I asked for long term research results on what he prescribed me. I know everyone's experience is different, but as someone who has seen a good chunk of physicians, I will continue to refer Dr. Dixit. I sincerely believe that his overall condition was NOT thoroughly considered and that their determination was based not from that of even a pulmonary function test but a 10 min one time in office spirometry test. My husband was seen by one of the practice's PA-C's on 2 separate occasions who throughout the most recent visit made mention several times about the authenticity of his asthma diagnosis and the "underlying" cause of his symptoms being that of GERD. While I understand that it is not uncommon for doctors to have different opinions about a patients medical condition I find it disgusting the treatment received at this practice. In regard to my husbands case, the PA-C & team of Dr(s) as we were informed believe that my veteran husband's (who was medically discharged from active duty due to developing breathing difficulties following chemical exposure) may be caused by gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) DESPITE a strong recommendation from his pulmonologist of 3yrs to initiate biologic therapy as the best next line of therapy. While both GERD and asthma can cause similar symptoms, such as difficulty breathing, coughing and wheezing the underlying causes of these conditions are different. GERD is caused by stomach acid flowing back up into the esophagus and may cause symptoms to be more prevalent at night while lying down or shortly after a meal. Asthma on the other hand is a chronic respiratory condition characterized by inflammation and narrowing of the airways. It is important to review symptoms and medical history in order to accurately diagnose and develop an appropriate treatment plan. Today via phone we were informed that the PA-C suggested seeking additional testing and management from a GI specialist as the root cause of my husbands breathing difficulties NEVER taking into consideration any supporting medical records showing the implementation of MULTIPLE rounds of oral steroidal therapy(prednisone) over the last 12 months for his various episodes of asthma exacerbation which he has had to seek medical treatment for and then only then thereafter did his breathing difficulties improve. I present this review to those with asthma and allergies looking to consult this practice as a cautious reminder to reconsider. I do not recommend this practice or its providers for those being referred for asthma/allergy related symptoms.
