After the appointment, I called the California Hearing Aid Center to arrange a follow-up appointment. However, I was informed that they only had schedules available for the following two weeks, and I was advised to call back later in the month. I called back three more times to no avail. I was on a trip to Europe and even called from there to ensure that she would be seen as soon as possible. Unfortunately, no one returned my calls. In the meantime, my mom's hearing aid was malfunctioning, and she urgently needed to be seen by Keith. During the week of September 25th, I made numerous calls until I finally reached someone at the center. They scheduled an appointment for October 24th and mentioned that if I didn't hear back, I should consider the appointment confirmed. Today, on October 5th, I called three times and left messages, but no one returned my calls. Finally, at 3:52 pm, I was able to speak with Karen, who informed me that she couldn't locate my appointment because Keith would be out of the office on October 24. I want to know why this call center is not functioning and why there is no respect for patients concerns nor caregiver time. I am very dissatisfied and frustrated with the call center performance and don't recommend this Hearing Aid Center!

Any one of them would have been worth a good review, but taken all together -- simply outstanding... Actually, this would have been a TEN STAR review, but Yelp doesn't go that far... =8-) Will go through the reasons one by one... My wife is extremely hard of hearing... We are retired and the whole idea of the several thousand dollars for hearing aids seemed beyond our means... The insurance company that handles our Medicare Supplemental Coverage added a perk this year: $1,000 toward each hearing aid... Suddenly hearing aids seemed within our reach... CHAC was one of several providers in their network... We contacted a few of those providers but were unimpressed until we reached CHAC... The person on the phone, Brooke, clearly came across as interested in our situation... However busy at the time, she made us feel like we were her only interest... We talked a bit about options and how this would all unfold... Brooke really gave us confidence to go forward with them... Their office is located nearly fifty miles from home... We live in the Sierra Foothills of Amador County, California... Hundred mile round trips did not sound appealing... Brooke cinched the start of the dance by telling us that their hearing specialist comes to our rural community regularly... The round trip was reduced to 1.8 miles... We'll take it... Our first encounter with the specialist, Keith Rios -- who we now know is the owner -- was thorough, professional and instilled tremendous confidence to us... Then he absolutely sealed the deal: He noticed something in the tests he gave my wife that might suggest an underlying medical condition requiring more than just hearing aids... He asked us to get a referral from our family physician to an Ear Nose Throat medical professional to check that out before going forward... He could have closed the deal right then and there for what surely would have been a quite handsome profit, but he was willing to forego that to make sure that hearing aids would be the appropriate solution... That professional integrity alone, was worth the FIVE STARS... The process took a couple months to unfold: getting the GP referral, booking the ENT appointment, going to the ENT professional, getting her diagnosis (false positive on the first tests; hearing aids would be sufficient), forwarding her notes and Rx to CHAC, getting the devices ordered and delivered to CHAC... Today my wife received her hearing aids during one of Keith's visits to our little community... He walked her through the whole process, made sure they worked as planned... All the while he was both the consummate professional and fully compassionate and caring to be sure that my wife was comfortable with her "new" experience... Unexpected side benefit: the particular hearing aids Keith recommended and we ordered include a three year supply of batteries... Considering the frequently short life spans for hearing aid batteries, that works out to something between $450 and $600 of an unanticipated benefit... There's still more... This turns out NOT to be a "fire and forget" situation... We will go back (1.8 mile round trip, remember =8-) once a month for several months for Keith to check that she is becoming comfortable with the hearing aids and to respond to any questions that arise from their use... So, as I write this review, my wife is out in our little garden listening to the birds singing for the first time in years... I was told I couldn't be scheduled because there was "no referral on file" and that my previous referral had expired -- only to then be told that my prior referral was never sent at all, resulting in the doctor not being paid and supposedly "eating the cost." As a patient, I had no way of knowing this, was never informed at the time, and should never have been made aware of internal billing failures or financial consequences in the first place. That information was inappropriate to share and felt like an attempt to shift responsibility -- or guilt -- onto the patient. At my last visit, I wasn't actively having symptoms at that exact moment (because ENT issues are not something you can schedule on demand). The doctor seemed annoyed that I was even there, yet explicitly told me to call back when symptoms occurred, advocate to be seen urgently, and inform staff that he keeps openings -- even over lunch -- for this exact situation. When I followed those instructions, I was shut down by staff, told I needed a brand-new referral, informed the doctor would be out for two weeks, and offered a medication refill -- for medication I've never been prescribed because I can't get seen when the issue is actually happening. So to summarize: * I can't be seen without a referral * The referral process apparently isn't handled correctly * I'm told to come in only when symptomatic * Then told I can't come in when symptomatic * And somehow this is all the patient's problem The entire experience feels disorganized, dismissive, and borderline gaslighting. Patients should not be expected to navigate internal billing failures, referral errors, or be made aware of who did or didn't get paid just to receive basic care. I will not be returning.

Dr. Pfisterer had to do a significant visible cut on my face with stitches. Right now it is still healing but he put the cut in the crease of the cheek so, when it heals it will not be to visible. Dr. Pfisterer had great bed side manner at the surgery center during surgery prep. Dr. Pfisterer is a very young Surgeon, when I first saw him he looked to be recently out of school (high school), lol. I would go back to him for other care. I recommend his services.

The procedure was performed, and when I inquired about follow-up if the tags didn't fully resolve, the doctor assured me there would be no additional charge for the same tags. At checkout, the front desk told me the total billed was $180 with my responsibility being $108.94. I paid what I understood to be my full share based on what I was told that day. A month later, with half the skin tags still present, I received a bill for an additional $200 specifically for the "cosmetic procedure." When I called billing to question this, they claimed the original $180 was only for the office visit and this was a separate charge. No one had disclosed this breakdown or the true total cost on the day of service. Had I known the full amount upfront, I would have addressed payment immediately. Instead, I was left with incomplete results and surprise billing. I called to schedule a follow-up for the remaining tags (the exact same ones the doctor had already treated), and I was told I would be charged again despite the doctor's earlier assurance. They also refused to schedule the appointment until the disputed bill is paid. The entire process felt like a classic bait-and-switch focused on maximizing charges rather than transparent care. The staff comes across as very superficial -- smiling and giving partial information during the visit, but showing little genuine concern for patient outcomes or clarity once the procedure is done. It seems the priority is collecting every possible dollar rather than supporting patients through the full treatment process they promise. I would strongly caution anyone considering services here to get every single cost, charge code, and follow-up policy in writing before agreeing to anything. It feels like they are more interested in protecting their position than genuinely resolving patient concerns. The superficial smiles during the visit quickly disappear when issues arise. Their questionable approach to communication and customer service makes me seriously wonder about their ethics and how they retain patients.
