He told me that he had drained the transmission fluid. After the service, my car began producing a large amount of smoke. What was especially concerning was that the vehicle was repeatedly started and the engine was run and revved for an extended period while the transmission fluid had reportedly been drained and the engine oil had been overfilled. The vehicle was even driven for approximately 7-8 minutes while they were trying to figure out what had happened. I contacted an Audi dealership because I was extremely concerned. Audi advised me not to drive the vehicle because the transmission fluid had been drained and the engine had been operated for an extended period while the engine oil was overfilled, and they could not know what condition the engine and transmission were in without inspecting the vehicle. Audi recommended having the vehicle towed in for inspection. Despite this, the shop told me the car was fine and that I should just take it. I did not feel comfortable doing that, so I arranged to have the vehicle towed to Audi for an independent inspection. I had also specifically asked the shop not to touch or modify the vehicle any further before Audi could inspect it. Despite that, they later told me they had worked on the vehicle again and tightened a "loose valve," claiming that the smoke had decreased. The lack of professionalism and judgment throughout this situation was extremely concerning. A basic oil service should never turn into a situation where the customer is afraid to drive the vehicle and has to have it independently inspected to determine whether it is safe.
