I just had my truck fixed there and was not happy with the price due to it was a re man transmission which they billed me for 15 hours and the norm is 10 hours and the company that sent the re man pays them for 4 hours so I feel i was RIPPED off. Now the gentleman that was working there named James was let go due to low sales he is supposed to sale at least $18,000.00 a week which he did not the only sale he got was from me for $5035.00. My point is this AAMCO is about taking money. So I would not advise you to go there. Now the mechanic and the new CS person there just doing what there told to do had no problems with them just as I said I feel like I was RIPPED off but also you hear a lot when people talk shop or read a script!!!!! And to top it off the owner has not even responded to my write up on google or nothing so that tells you what kind of business he is running!!!! read more

I called 2 days in advance for an appointment and showed up this morning at 0800 to check my car in for a fluid check and replacement, but no one was at the office. Since there was a light dusting of snow, I waited for 10 minutes to see if someone was coming, but then decided to call them in case they were inside, and just not hearing me at the door. The attendant asked for all of the same information that I had provided 2 days earlier and then said that Steve would be there in a few minutes to check me in. I waited for one more hour, but no one ever showed up. Unfortunately, there isn't an option for 0 stars. BEWARE CUSTOMERS DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!! I REPEAT DO NOT GO HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I called to schedule a transmission oil change for FRIDAY, April 28, 2021 (clearly a business day). I dropped off my car the night before and did not hear anything back from anyone until MONDAY, May 3, 2021. Not one single call back, update, NOTHING!!!!!!!!!!!!! Not even a email explaining why the shop was closed on both Friday and Saturday when clearly on their website it shows they are supposed to be open. Finally, after many unsuccessful attempts to reach anyone by noon on Friday I decided to go by the shop. With video and pictures to prove in a court of law, I found my car behind their fence locked up with not a single person around. The only reason I did not go to FFX county police dept was because my car was on their lot and I assumed possibly a dire emergency had come up so just try to be patient. Monday finally rolls around and finally I get a hold of "ROD" the "manager" who gave me a 1/2 a$$ excuse. When I asked that the service be done free of charge because of his blatant disrespect of taking a car hostage for an entire weekend he responded with a BOLD FACE LIE that they couldn't work on my car because the transmission oil change would actually cause more damage to the transmission and best if I leave it as is. Not replacing transmission oil can cause more harm down the road. Now worried I may have transmission issues I took my car to VW (dealership) and their mechanics took one look and said he lied to you. They did my tran oil change within 30 mins and advised to be careful of mechanics who can be this ruthless. Please....if they can be this shady imagine the damage they cause under hood of your car and drain you money and time. DO NOT GO HERE!!!! I went to AAMCO in Springfield, VA at 12:30pm with my 2007 Chevy Impala I provided the service engine code 0741 I was informed it takes 3hrs for an extensive free test. Was called at 3:09pm they stated they didn't know what the issue was and provided the same code I originally provided. Was informed it would cost 893.00 to pull the engine and see what is wrong with transmission. I took my key to leave and to price shop the car all of a sudden grinded uncontrollably and would not go in reverse or forward. I went back in and was told that this "Extensive Search" was just a test drive and a diagnostic check. Also that they suddenly wont be able to work on the car tell tomorrow afternoon. The same thing happened to another gentleman and they never responded which is why they have a C rating with the Better Business Bureau read more

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER! My experience with Aamco has been terrible, this company lacks character, courtesy, and professionalism. I have been lied to and given multiple false promises. Three weeks ago, on March 24th, 2021, I took my car in to be inspected for possible transmission issues I was told that the inspection would be complete no later than the March 26th. I never heard from them until I called to ask for an update the following day. That is when I was finally updated on the status of my car, I was asked for $1600 to complete a "deeper" inspection on my car. He promised that it would be completed by March 29th. It was not until March 30th, where I contacted Aamco again to get an update on my car. During this time, I did not receive clear answers regarding questions on the repairs needed for my vehicle. They said that they would get back to me "later that day". That contact never happened. I called them the following day and receive an invoice of $5,000 for a transmission replacement. The owner stated that he would not start my repairs until I paid in full; I found this to be very odd. However, on March 31st  the same day I received the invoice, I sent in money for them to begin the repairs. These repairs were promised to be completed by April 6th at the latest. On April 6th I heard nothing from the repair shop. It was not until April 9th that I had called to get any update on my vehicle. I was, once again, given the run around regarding the status of my vehicle. This forced me to call the Aamco corporate office where I was given similar treatment. I spoke with a customer service rep who promised me answers by COB April 9th, I did not hear back from the customer service rep. I called back the repair shop later that day and FINALLY I was told that the part needed for my car "might be on backorder" I was given no confirmation on when my vehicle could be fixed or when the part would arrive. On that same call, I was asked to pay MORE money on my repairs. On April 5th, I went to the repair to grab a few things from the vehicle. When I asked the mechanic about the repairs that I had paid for he stated that he hadn't heard anything about what was going on with the vehicle. The mechanic stated that he didn't even know what or if repairs needed to be done with my vehicle. This had confused me because I had authorized Aamco to fix my vehicle 5 days prior. On April 12th, I called Aamco corporate office back, since I haven't received a call from them regarding my vehicle. The service rep told me a conflicting story from what I was told on the 9th. She informed me that now my car wouldn't be getting a refurbished transmission and that the shop had decided to rebuild my current one. I was confused by this update because this wasn't relayed to me on my call with the mechanic. I was not told the price for these new repairs that I did not authorize. Later in the conversation, I informed the service representative that I will be exploring all avenues to air my grievances about my experience with Aamco. The rep told me that "I should caution on doing that, because if I did it before they fix my vehicle they would work slower on my car and it would take more time". I took this comment as a threat to comply or else This experience has been a total inconvenience for me and my family. I have not been able to run errands for my family, I have missed several family events and important appointments including my COVID vaccine appointment. Aamco's lack of communication and professionalism has caused a tremendous strain on my life for the past three weeks and till this day I have not received any clear responses as to what the status of my vehicle or the parts for my vehicle, which have all been paid for. All Aamco has asked from me is to pay them more money, that is the only time they have proactively contacted me. Do not go to this shop. I asked for an estimate on replacing the transmission of my pickup, which was sitting at another shop at the time, and they refused to give me any kind of ballpark estimate without putting their hands on the vehicle first. I would have to have it towed to their shop just to get an idea of how much a replacement would be. I asked the rep why it was that I received an estimate from another shop for a used transmission, and he told me that they don't sell used transmissions. I pointed out to him that the Aamco website was currently offering a $100 coupon for a used transmission with installation, but he told me that their shop doesn't do that, which is absolute BS. These guys were cordial on the phone. Helpful. Informative. They could not explain why another Aamco location was saying that their ad for "free" estimate was not valid, but hey, that's why we chose this location instead. They stuck to their word and the ad which expresses that Aamco, has a free multi point inspection and they will figure out what is wrong with your car before they start working on it. As a mom of a teenaged driver - I appreciate this. They called me directly with the details and the estimate. I feel they are honest and know what they are doing and don't try to juice you for unexpected ish. Good mechanics know that they are like a good stylist - once they have you, you are never going anyplace else. OH, and kudos to Pep Boys, my local car care peeps, for hooking me up with Aamco b/c they don't do transmission work. All around, the most honest, trustworthy group of people I have met here, yet. They did the work when they said they would - the cost was within the price range they estimated. Everything went smoothly, and that's what we all need in our lives, a little more smooth. We took our car there for the free transmission diagnosis. Eric called us back and gave us the estimate. When we went back to the shop to see the estimate in writing, it was more than double. We naturally declined and asked for our car back. Erick went into a rage and said that we had to pay (remember this is a free estimate) $1,295.00. If we did not pay, Eric said that he would impound the car on his lot, put a mechanics lien on it and sell it at auction. We may not be alone in this experience. Do not take a manual transmission here! We had a clutch issue. They replaced it for $1700. But it still had a bad noise and it shook when hot. Took it back and they replaced it again. But same results. They said we needed a transmission. So we stupidly agreed. While it did shift a little better all the noise and buffet issues remained. After we were told the clutch was out of warrantee which it was not, we called corporate and they sent us to the shop near Van Dorn. They replaced the flywheel throwout bearing and pilot bearing. All these should have been replaced first time around. Over $5000 sunk! Just stay away! But the Van Dorn shop did fix it finally. read more

I've gone here several times for oil changes and tire rotations. Eric ALWAYS looked out for me. I surely missed the customer service he offered when he transferred temporarily to a new location. I sure am glad he's back! There are other shops that are closer to my home, but I will never go anywhere else! read more

Went here on a recommendation from a co-worker. I had air leaking out of my tire. When I got there the place was packed. I told the manager the problem, and told him that I could tell he was very busy and could just go elsewhere if it was going to be a while. He told me to go ahead and pull around back and he would have one of his guys take a look at it right away. It got in, got repaired, and got out with no problem. The manager was very nice and the guy that did the work was even nicer. He even apologized for taking so long and I know it couldn't have been more than 35 minutes. I know this was just a tire repair but I passed several other actual tire places on the way just because I hate dealing with the way the ones I have dealt with always try and up sell you as much as they can (Alban Tires). I appreciated that they just did the repair and got me in and out as quickly as they did. I will definitely return to this location. read more
