This "fly-by-night" business owner, Moe, is rude, unprofessional, and incompetent. I took my car there because I needed an oil change and was hearing a noise coming from the front of my car. Moe ended up replacing a part that was not the source of the noise. I suspect due to incompetence, he was unable to locate the noise, and instead of being honest and letting me know this, he proceeded to work on the car and replaced parts I did not need. Additionally, I did not receive the oil change that I paid for. Other Google reviews complained about this same problem. From what I heard, he gets his friends to write positive Google reviews, so this explains the 4.6 rating. His bonus is contingent on the positive reviews he receives. Please do not fall for this. His Google review rate is more like 2.6. Please stay away from this place. You will certainly regret it, just as I did. If you have any issues with this location or Moe, please file a complaint with the Aamco corporate office. This guy, Moe, is only a franchise owner. He still has to follow Aamco guidelines. In addition, please file a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General's Office and the BBB. They will revoke his business license and require him to pay various fees. I have had other routine maintenance done on another vehicle here but last year I brought my truck here to have the transmission replaced. It has been a nightmare. Spent over $7000 for a remanufactured transmission and other associated new parts. First transmission failed when I was driving on I-5 after 200 miles. Second transmission under warranty failed due to leaks. It's on the 3rd transmission now so let's hope this one makes it. Come to find out this place gets their transmissions from Moveras. They have a horrible reputation. I should have done my research and asked what supplier they use. For this 3rd transmission when I told Moe I didn't want another one from the same supplier, get it from Precision Transmission, he said yep I'll get it from Precision I promise. So what did he do? He sent another from Moveras. So I am stuck with this pile of junk now. Aside from the transmission issues, when I got the truck back I found they never replaced the engine oil cooler line. They forgot is what Moe told me. Yeah right. Took it back to get that replaced and when I got the truck back there was oil all over the steering wheel and armrest. I moved to NY state earlier this year and the most recent transmission replacement (due to the gross leak of fluid) was done here and it was an absolute nightmare. Do yourself a favor and stay away from Aamco in general. They are a horrible company to deal with and use the cheapest and lowest quality parts they can find but charge premium prices. Just look up lawsuits and other issues related to Aamco and you'll see how terrible this entire company is. read more

AAMCO Transmissions & Total Car Care - Damage caused while in the repair shop. - Auto Repair Near Me - Everett, Washington

In April 2023, I was quoted a price of $8,000 for a used/pre-owned transmission. My 2020 Ford Explorer XLT was having transmission problems and I had to have my vehicle towed to this location. They were able to provide me with a courtesy car while the transmission was being replaced and while I was making payments on an agreed upon payment plan. I picked up my vehicle in December and everything was fine until September of this year. I had to bring the vehicle back because it was making the same noises I experienced before, to include the transmission failing to go into gear and making clunking sounds. I drove the vehicle there and although my vehicle mileage went over the 12,000 mile/1 year warranty (12,430), AAMCO did agree to cover labor costs as long as I covered the costs of parts. When I turned this car in for repair, IT WAS NOT LEAKING TRANSMISSION FLUID. After spending another $2,399.47, I cannot even drive the vehicle because it is leaking so much transmission fluid. I was told that "it was discovered the cause of the original leak hairline cracks on both sides of the transmission case just above the transmission pan, from what appears to be impact damage...the transmission pan shows signs of impact as well as the catalytic converter which is next to the transmission...likely from a large speed bump or something of the sort." AAMCO attempted to seal this "crack" in the transmission case, which they were unsuccessful and it is leaking fluid. A mechanic friend of mine looked underneath my vehicle and found NO EVIDENCE of any impact damage. Additionally, my friend reached out to Ford and found that a BRAND NEW FORD TRANSMISSION only costs $3,864.99. Not only was I overcharged for USED TRANSMISSION, but my vehicle was further damaged. I have submitted a complaint letter to AAMCO (this appears to be a franchise owned by Yasin & Nisha Integrity LLC d/b/a AAMCO) and to the Washington State Attorney General's Consumer Complaints office. I will not use this business in the future. read more

Brought in my Aunts car to get a free diagnostic. Was told to bring it in at 9am and they would get that done for us. When we got there, they were surprised that we were going to wait for the work to be done. We weren't told that we were supposed to drop it off for the day and they would get to it when they could or we wouldn't have brought it there when we did as that wasn't an option for us at the time. We sat and waited for 4 hours and 40 minutes in their tiny, uncomfortable waiting area. When we got there we gave a description of what was going on with the car and were asked if trans was slipping and told them that no it was not slipping but it was shifting hard, had some delayed shifting and had a slight shudder sometimes. When they finished with the free diagnostic (4hours and 40minutes later) they informed us that they were unable to get the trans to slip during the test drive to which my boyfriend said "good because it wasn't slipping when we brought it in". The main things they told us were that we needed a new double clutch and that a boot on the cv axle was torn and slinging grease, we had a slight oil seap from the seal on the back of the engine and that we needed a new motor mount. The first quote they prepared for us was over $11k. He then said there was a different way they could do it that would save us about $2500 so he made a quote for that as well but that quote was for over $10k. I don't see how that's a $2500 savings. Over half the price on both quotes was just for labor. When we got the car back from them they wiped down the steering wheel, door and shifter with something that made it feel very sticky. They had also adjusted the seat to a position that was almost laying down during the test drive. I also noticed that even though they test drove it there were no additional miles put on the car but there was a little less gas then when I brought it in, so that was confusing. After leaving the shop the car sounded worse than when we brought it in. Needless to say we won't be returning and will be getting another diagnostic done somewhere else. I took my car in after a hard shift into third gear. It had only happened one time and hasn't done it since. I was told by Moe at Everett AAMCO that they give free diagnosis. I brought my car in and was told even before they looked at it that they would not touch it because since it had the hard shift that there would be metal shavings all over and that they could not do a flush. I was given a loaner car with 3 month expired tabs. When i told him about the tabs he laughed. Moe called me the next day and said they looked at the fluid and it was black and had metal shavings all over. He said they checked it by slightly unscrewing my drain plug.Took a sample for me to see. I came to pick up my car and looked at the sample and did not see any metal shavings. I asked what my next steps were and what needed to happen to fix it...his words exactly "leave it alone and don't touch it. Drive it till it breaks down. You will eventually need a new transmission." "We wont touch it because if something happens down the road you will come back and blame us and demand we give you a new transmission". He gave me no recommendations and no help whatsoever. He also told me that 95% of shops would not touch my car. So much for the "free diagnosis." Moe told me "Well you can pay me $1400.00 and I can rip apart the transmission and tell you what's wrong with it" I took my car to a different shop and they drained my transmission into a magnetized pan and said they found not one metal shaving and told me they found no codes ln my engine or transmission. Said my car runs great and no problems whatsoever. They also said the drain plug had not been touched so not sure what car Moe got the fluid sample from but it was not from my car. AVOID AAMCO IN EVERETT ON RUCKER!! It was the absolute worst experience I have ever had with a shop. read more

This AAMCO location practices bait and switch and dishonest sales practices. Bait and Switch: A service voucher was purchased from Amazon Local providing $250 in brake services. After AAMCO inspected my brakes, I was informed that repairs will exceed the value of the voucher by an amount nearly equivalent to the price of a normal brake job ($207.65) bringing the total of the quoted brake work to $457.65. Dishonest Sales Practices: After receiving the above quote, I took the vehicle to another automotive shop and discovered that my brakes do not need replacement, thus AAMCO was dishonest in the description of repair needs. AAMCO indicated the following: -Drums are beyond wear limits and need replacement -Shoes are beyond wear limits and need replacement -Brake kit needs replacement Other business indicated the following: -No issues with brakes -Drums are far from needing replacement -Shoes are far from needing replacement (currently 6mm thick, replacement is recommended starting around 3mm thick) -Brake kit is far from needing replacement Furthermore, the other business showed me the parts in question and measurement of the brake parts and I verified that the brakes are far from needing replacement. Great customer service and knowledge of needed repairs. I sent my dad in for a transmission service, these guys started with the service and they discovered that the transmission was failing and suggested not to have the service completed because it would have caused the transmission to fail even sooner and that it really needed to be rebuilt. They saved him $240. Needless to say my dad went and bought a brand new truck later that day. read more

Very very friendly and honest staff. I usually go to the dealership to get my car maintained but my friend recommended this place so I gave it a try. I left my car for an hour for an engine oil change and tire rotation. Normally I hear a bunch of crap I need for my car from the dealership but the AAMCO owner, Michael said that my tires look okay so I don't need rotation this time. I was very impressed with his honesty. Where do you find a mechanic like that? If they were all about business, they would have convinced me to get additional services followed by tire rotation. He did not try to upsell me or make me uncomfortable like other shops. I am very pleased with the exceptional service and attention I received from Michael. The customer service was horrible. I purchased the AmazonLocal voucher for brake service. When I called to make the appointment they told me I'd need to drop off my car at 9 am and it would be ready around 3:30 or 4 pm. When I made the appointment I told them the year, make and model of my car. I wasn't thrilled to leave my car for an entire day but made arrangements for a babysitter and brought my laptop to work from the library around the corner from the shop. They called me at 3:45 pm and told me they couldn't get parts for my car so I'd need to leave it overnight or bring it back in the morning. I had to call my husband to come pick me up and they promised my car would be done in the morning and they'd call me as soon as it was finished. By 3:30 the following day I still hadn't heard from them. I called to see if my car was finished and they said it was. Unfortunately they close at 5 and since I didn't think I'd be able to make it by then, I asked them to lock the keys in the glove box. Instead they put them under the center console where they were visible from the window!! The price was great but completely not worth it due to the inconvenience and lack of customer service. I had work done on my car about 7 months ago. This was a Jaguar X-Type 2003. I had hit a car in front of me which had caused radiator work, replacement and checking out any other issues related to the accident. My insurance had came out to do an estimate on what they would cover on the car. Remember it a 15 year old car that has been overall a great car. With that said, it's still is an older car that needs a lot of TLC. Anyway, when I had first picked up the car after a week and half of delays for one reason or another, I was pretty happy with the job they had done. This was the first part of November. Later that week I had noticed that the AC wasn't working so I had gone back to the shop and spoke with Mark and he had offered an hour worth of service time to try and see what could have gone wrong. I had planned to bring it back sometime in the next two weeks. That didn't happen to do two surgery's I had to have done and I wasn't worried about the AC getting handled right then. Anyways, I had taken the car in this last Monday to get the car look at for the AC and I was also wanting some codes check on that I was more than willing to pay for until I met Lisa. She need to understand a bit about customer services. Anyways she looked into the matter and said I was told that they would recharge the AC and that was what they were willing to do. Lisa had informed me she had talked to the person (Mark) that had been my original sale person and he said that he had offered the frr charge of the AC which I know how to do and had wasted two cans of the fluid even before I had reached out in November about the problem. Lisa said to me we are not a body shop and the radiator was barley hanging on the car and that the would not be able to do anything unless the did a $395 inspection of the car. This was at 4:15 pm when I had taken the car to the AAMCO shop at 8 am and asked her to let me know if there was going to be a problem, to call me before 11 am so that I could have had a better understanding of the situation. I will never recommend this shop to anyone and I'm in the process of working this out with my insurance company. All I have to say is stay away from the shade. read more

I agree with the previous writer regarding dishonest services at the Aamco Everett location on 2801 Rucker Avenue. Extremely rude people!! Likewise, I had also purchased a $59 ($250 Value) for a Brake Service for a Front or Rear Brake Service with Brake Pads, Resurfacing of Rotors, and Labor. The practices of the salesman, Rob, is worse than that of a Highway Robber. He is super mean on the phone and wants you to make an appointment and plan to leave your car the whole day for a 1.5 hour job - crazy if you can't find someone to drop you off and bring you back. I rushed off work to get to this Aamco to deal with Rob's unethical and mean attitude - He brought out a calculator and told me I purchased a $250 Value worth of Voucher but it was going to take almost 3 hours to complete the job at $100/hour because he will charge 8/10th of an hour to remove and clean the rotor and resurface. Hello?? The voucher includes Labor. He also told me the part was going to cost $65 which was also included in the voucher. I asked them why they didn't include all these details in the voucher. He begins to tell me someone else called Ed set up the voucher with Amazon and he knew nothing about it. By the time he did all his calculations, he gave me an estimate of additional out of pocket expenses of $100 or more depending on how difficult it will be to change the rear brakes of my car. I told him I was not happy with the dishonesty in the voucher and he walks away and yells at me that he has made up his mind that he does not have an interest in working on my car and that I should get up and move my car from the parking location. My husband was already on his way to pick me up because I thought I was going to need a ride from there - Rob yelled at my husband as well and told him all the work and additional $ I needed to pay. Mind you, there was another brake service voucher that had shown up on Amazon Local from a different auto repair company in Lynnwood, Hubby had scheduled an appointment there that morning and they got the job done for the same cost ($59) - no questions asked. I think all he paid in addition to the service was to upgrade to ceramic by choice was $45. I should have never wasted my time with the crook. Save your money and go somewhere else for all your brake and auto repair needs. read more

I have taken two vehicles to two separate Aamco locations. Both times were a complete disaster. The Everett location rebuilt the transmission in my 99 Subaru, using re manufactured parts. Well, the re manufactured torque converter failed and my car has been in the shop for three weeks and counting, getting it replaced. This job only takes a few hours to do. NEVER EVER trust these hacks!! read more

DO NOT GO HERE! Reading the previous reviews, it sounds like Aamco's poor track record is all too typical. This Aamco location gives the company a bad name. After paying this location nearly $3600 in September 2012 to have my transmission replaced, I went back to this location in August 2013 to have my transmission checked. My vehicle was making a grind/creak noise, and since my transmission was still under warranty, it only made sense to have it looked at. I initially called Aamco on a Monday to have my vehicle checked, and Rob said the soonest they could get me in was Thursday. I made arrangements to leave work early, but upon arriving to Aamco, Rob rudely told me that he wouldn't be able to look at my vehicle until the next day. He said that it would be put into "the rotation" of the 50 other cars that were waiting to be looked at! Now why would he have me make an appointment? I reluctantly left my vehicle, and had my Dad pick me up. A short while later, I called Aamco back explaining I am very dependent on my vehicle, and asked if they could kindly look at it today. I drive from Everett to Redmond every day for work, I have a 2 year old son with medical issues, and I am financially not in the position to open-endedly rent a car. Long story short, Rob and I got into a screaming argument on the phone. He said it could be weeks until I receive my vehicle back. I said that I was going to pick up my vehicle and take it to a different Aamco and have them assess the situation. Rob was incredibly insulting and unprofessional. My Dad was completely appalled as to how I was treated, especially after spending so much money with this business in the past. On my way to get my car, I spoke to the Aamco in Kirkland, and they told me they could look at my vehicle in the the morning, and get back to me with information within an hour! I immediately made an appointment to see them. The topper...Even though my car was in the care of the Everett location for only an hour, my car REEKED OF STALE CIGARETTES when I got in!!!! The next morning, I went to the Kirkland location. In the end, it was a quick ball bearing fix. Kirkland cut me a great deal, provided excellent customer service and had my car back to me before the end of my work day. read more

Its too early to do more than 4 stars right now. So my daughter's car went into the shop around the 4th of July and now (November 11) it have gone through 3 transmissions and two torque converters and you ask why I would even consider giving the place a high rating. Well it's simple, the owner did some house cleaning and got someone who would give honest answers and call people back. In the beginning my daughter took her 2003 Honda Pilot in for a new transmission and it took weeks to hear back. When it finally got done, she drove it 3 miles and it left her stranded on at the gore point on the Everett Trestle - NOT GOOD! So they towed it back and it sat and sat and sat and we got nothing but BS. Then about 3.5 weeks later, under the direction of legal counsel I went into make arrangements to have the car towed to another shop and I met Nate the build-tech and acting manager. No more nonsense, no more games. They went completely through the transmission and replaced the valve body but they blew another torque converter on a test drive. This time however Nate and his team were then able to do a proper diagnosis only to discover a bad pin on a wiring harness was the initial problem that fried the her original transmission. Yes that did cost them another torque convertor but he wasn't about to the car go out again and have problems. In fact, with our permission he drove it about 200 miles to make sure the vehicle was at 100%. They also noticed the front brakes were bad and replaced them free of charge as a symbol of moving ahead with understanding that there is a new sheriff in town and that clients are #1. I'd really consider going back - That's if Nate is still there. read more

They don't know what they are doing I took my f350 1996 diesel in to this place to get my transmission re placed they had it for a week the first time and when I got it back it was leaking fluid everywhere and not working right took it back, they kept it another two weeks stating that they put in the wrong torque converter, got it back, drove it 25 miles light comes on again still leaking shifting hard not right this went on for 3 months, they even sent it to a " master mechanic"because apparently it was the truck and tried to charge me $700 for this. That other master guy said it was the transmission. Finally I got a clue and fought for a refund after taking it to Ed's for a second opinion found out they where just clearing the light and doing nothing to fix it or try in any way. They also left wires hanging and left the engine cover off! read more

I brought my Subaru in for an air conditioning re-charge. They did a great job. I was called and told about the schrader valve leaking and that it would need replaced. This was only a few dollars more. I was impressed that I was told before I picked up the car and that they didn't try to make a big deal about it and charge more money. When my husband got there the guy threw his chair and started cussing at my husband and threatened to call the cops. Nothing against Aamco because I'm pretty sure not all of them are as bad as this one. Yes they do use bait and switch tactics. I was quoted just under $500.00 for a brake job for my back wheels. I knew that was almost double what I paid for the front wheels the year before. I had a $250.00 groupon coupon and I called groupon and got a refund on my purchase. I don't know about the other services they offer but if it's anything like their brake job prices, I would definitely get another quote before you let them do the work. read more

Horrible service. Kept my car for three weeks last summer and didn't even fix it correctly. Then, claimed that because I did not bring my car to an appointment I was never informed of, they said they would not honor the one year warranty. The only reason I have gone here twice is because it was warranty work, but I will never come here again. I had work done on my car back in december of 2009. Origionally it was the clutch, AAMCO then told me that I would have to replace another part. When I gotthe car back, it ran at a fair condition and two weeks from when I recieved my vehicle it broke again. This time they said it was a Hydraulic hose. So I have them fix it and of course they seemed to not take responsibility for anything. About 3 or so weeks after that My car broke again. I had it towed somewhere else for a second opinion (not telling them what had been previously worked on). They told me that from there inspection the C/V joint seperated and messed up the axle, and asked me if I had work done on the car reacently. I told the and they said that things were installed incorrectly and things were even missing. Now the guy who I talked to at AAMCO told me that they checked over the car like 4 times. All that time they spent down around my transmission and all this stuff breaks. I had a letter written to ask them to pay for the repairs and they have not attempted to contact me to even discuss the situation. Iwill never recomend that anyone go to any AAMCO ever.
