Until the next day - when I encountered a massive amount of tree branches/debris in my accessible fenced back yard which was very clean before they arrived. AAA was hired by my neighbor to take down a tree. Rather than taking the tree down in a manageable fashion, they felled the tree landing it on top of one of my trees and the fence dividing our properties. In doing so, they took two large, healthy limbs off our tree and further damaged our fence. They also completely tore up the neighbor's yard front and back to remove a single tree. The company's response to my outreach was to offer me a discount on future tree services. Why would I hire the company that damaged our property? Don't be lazy because AAA is the first name in the directory. Do your homework and go to a more reputable company. So after blowing me off when I first contacted them (I was previously told that AAA's President felt no need to engage me), AAA came knocking on my door asking how much money I would take to take down my reviews. What price do you put on a damaged tree? I refused their offer and have chosen to leave my reviews up. I wonder how many others they have paid to take down bad reviews? Because I refused to take their money to take down my reviews, the company is now attempting to discredit my reviews by calling me crazy and stating the downed limbs were dead. I'm not crazy and the downed limbs were not dead. I had my trees pruned by another, more respectable, company 3 weeks prior to AAA felling my neighbor's tree on to my healthy branches. This is not a fight I wanted. I was dragged into this because of this company's shoddy work. I'm, unfortunately, having to now deal with a very unprofessional, unethical company. We recently had an extremely large pine come down in the front yard during the high wind storms. This morning, I was driving on Fairfax County Parkway in Herndon, VA and one of AAA Tree Service's vehicles tried to run my car and others off the road. I guess the driver felt as though he wasn't simply "King of the Trees" but king of the road as well. Since the truck was clearly marked, I called the business and asked to speak with the Manager or Owner to talk about their driver's safety. The man who answered the phone said he couldn't give me any information to a manager or an owner. I let him know if I didn't receive this information, I'd turn to good ole' Yelp for a review. That is when he hung up and texted me to let me know he was "going to report me to the police for threats". I called back and it became very clear the driver of the vehicle was the one answering the phone. He told me I should learn to drive and stay off the F$@#&% road. I am disgusted with the employee's behavior and genuinely concerned for others safety. I can't imagine inviting an individual like that into my home to help with any tree work or services they provide. ESPECIALLY since safety is of NO concern. read more

AAA removed two maples from our front yard. The estimate seemed to go well, and they were able to come within the week. But the workers clearly weren't working from our estimate -- chipping all the limbs even though we'd contracted for 18" firewood and I clarified the scope of work with the guy who appeared to be in charge when they arrived. By the time I finally got through to them, we only had a dozen or so logs, from what might have been several dozen. Then when the job was winding down, another guy asked for a check. I said I'd pay with credit card given their estimate prominently displayed this option, to which he responded that there would be a 4% surcharge. As nothing on the contract mentioned a surcharge, I called their office to confirm; in the course of that 5-minute conversation, the crew vanished from our yard, leaving a shambles of wrecked planters, "kindling" branches strewn about, and roots not ground out, although this element also was included in our bid. They clearly weren't interested in our views as to whether the work had been completed, or reviewing the contract to see for themselves. And AAA has no apologies about the 4% upcharge with no prior notice, a practice I'm sure the credit card companies would find interesting. I picked these guys because they had good reviews on yelp, google, consumer checkbook. I feel like I've been dealing with an entirely different company. read more

On 7/21/2021, I hired AAA Tree Service to primarily remove a very tall pine tree from my front yard, which was leaning towards my home. AAA Tree Service cut down the wrong tree and my credit card was billed a total of $4,500.00 for this service. Consequently, I had to file a dispute with my credit card company. On 08/18/2021 at 07:59 am, I received an e-mail from AAA Tree Service stating, "We would like to resolve everything. We would like to come and cut down the tree that is marked in the contract. Please call the office." On 8/25/2021, I replied to AAA Tree Service via e-mail and stated "Good morning: My apologies for the delay in responding as I have been working long hours. I definitely would like the other tree removed. I'll try to call you later today so that we can quickly take the tree out." I was agreeable to AAA Tree Service's offer to remove the correct tree and settle the matter. On 8/26/2021 or 8/27/2021, I called AAA Tree Service as requested and spoke with an employee, named Todd. Todd was extremely rude and confrontational during the phone call and stated, "I don't know if the owner will want to work with you now." In addition, Todd accused me of watching the tree cutting crew climb up the wrong tree cut it down while remaining silent. Moreover, Todd also accused me of being outside and aware of the wrong tree being removed while serving the members of the tree removal crew water. I had informed Todd that I never served his employees any water and that it was most likely my identical twin. Moreover, Todd asserted that AAA Tree Service has never cut down the wrong tree before and accused me of lying about the incident --in stark contrast to the Better Business Bureau (BBB) complaint filed against AAA Tree Service on 09/03/2019 stating, "This business illegally cut a tree on our property without our knowledge or permission." In short, I attempted to resolve the problem by responding to AAA Tree Service via both e-mail and telephonically, to accept their offer and settle the matter. However, AAA Tree Service has opted to rescind the offer and the owner replied to my credit card dispute stating that I "want something for nothing". For the reasons above, I cannot recommend this business to others. read more

The team members were very courteous and polite and they did a terrific job. The only evidence of them being at my hose was the missing limbs they removed. I requested quotes to remove a tree from two companies. The guy who answered the phone seemed so nice that I was sure that I would go with them since they seemed to have better customer service. He stated that someone would be out Tuesday, so I stayed home all day waiting, but never received a call or anything. As I understand things happen that change the schedule, I wasn't annoyed and the guy showed up first thing Wednesday morning while I was getting coffee. Yesterday, their office girl called to see if I liked the quote, which is a nice aspect of service, but the other company was due any minute so I did not have an answer yet. The second company quoted me a price that was over $500 lower, but I still preferred to give the business to AAA. This morning I contacted the office to ask if they would price match the other quote since there was a big discrepancy between the two. Honestly, I was expecting either a yes, no, or let me find out for you. The girl answered the phone with a greeting of "Hey, what's up?" I thought maybe I had called the wrong number, but she quickly said AAA Tree Service, but seemed rather unfriendly once she realized I was a customer. So I explained that I received a quote that was substantially lower, but preferred to give my business to them. Her response was that I needed to contact the guy who performed the quote and would I like his cell phone number? My response was no, I thought you would find the answer for me if you didn't know. She stated again that she could give me his number. Since I have no interest in doing her job for her and have no interest in dealing with someone that cares so little about their job and the company they work for, I went for the other company because the estimator was at least nice over the phone, he called when he needed to reschedule the estimate, and it was over $500 cheaper. My advice to the owner is to get someone who answers the phone properly, is friendly, and actually cares. If a customer calls up with a question that she doesn't know the answer to, she should offer to find out and get back to them. You are losing out on customers because of her attitude. Oh well, looking forward to having my tree cut down before it destroys my windshield again. read more

I contacted this company on a Saturday morning and spoke to a gentleman who seemed to be very knowledgeable and helpful. I told him that I wanted to get an estimate quickly; he told me that he could be at my home in an hour. He arrived promptly, gave me an estimate on the spot, and never pressured me in any way to purchase from his company. After I agreed to his service, he scheduled the work for the following Tuesday. His crew did a fantastic job--exactly what he said they would do. After reading some of the reviews here I was a little concerned, until I realized that no one had posted anything negative about the actual work this company did for them.
