In Yelp I browsed all the septic tank companies but all worked on existing operating tanks. Then I found Diamond. They install AND service AND un-abandon tanks. The Diamond crew sent a camera in into the abyss, gave me reasonable quote, and wow did they do a good job. Some 30 tons of fill dirt is now occupying the space formerly empty under my front yard. Mrs. Yelper no longer fears being swallowed up. Tragedy averted! Cost some coin but totally worth it for the quality of work. I highly recommend Diamond.

They camera'd from the septic to the leech line and recommended that we pump the septic tank which we did. Then they indicated they needed to further camera from the septic tank to house. We authorized a full camera inspection of septic to leech and house to septic and also to pump septic which would have identified what the problem was . After spending $1200, continuing 5 days of no use of household sewer system ( due to back up) and no written report as well as numerous attempts to contact them ( Joshua) we had to hope another plumber. On Tuesday Joshua called. Not this time the new plumber had arrived, ran a snake from the toilet to the septic and found that the sewer line was plugged at the baffle T .(where it enters the septic tank). Drains started working properly at that point. The new co. recommended a hydrojet cleaning followed by a camera inspection. They informed us that because the sewer was plugged it was evident that the prior camera inspection as Joshua alleged was done was in fact not done!!! We ended up spending twice as much money, went 5 days without a working toilet and were extremely frustrated and disappointed.

From there they very neatly cut small section of the wall out and installed shut off valves to the 4 cold water pipes that go into the ground, this detective work isolated one of the pipes as the leaker stopping the meter spin in its tracks! You should also make sure they are doing the job as quoted, because they and their crew will cut corners if you aren't watching. For a plumbing re-pipe job, we requested that they do copper plumbing and it was included on the estimate. Mid-job, we saw that they were bringing Pex tubes and ask them why they were changing their materials while not reducing the cost of the job. We had to correct them to update the estimate and quote. A year later, we asked them to help with a free standing tub drain issue that we had and we were quoted $800, then $1405 for the job. Mid-day through the job, they updated their estimate to over $2,000 because their crew member had to go find a part and they were charging us by the hour despite the estimate saying it would take 1 working day to complete. It's really easy to pressure someone to pay more for a job once you have the guts of their bathroom open and this experience was not good. When we complained about their cost overruns and lack of transparency, their email response and demeanor on the phone was riddled with rude and aggressive language. For these reasons, I cannot recommend this company to anyone.

What Emerson does that few others do is provide you an initial ballpark estimate from pictures so you have some idea of the scope of work. Other companies wont even bother with a ballpark figure from pictures. Why? Because what they dont tell you is they most likely have minimum pricing for each job regardless of the size/scope! Yep, so even if you had a smaller project like ours, it could be $2500 minimum or more. Does that seem fair? Lucky for us we found Emerson and he was able to provide us reasonable pricing without bogus minimums. He was so efficient he was even able complete the project in just one day rather than some overestimate of 3-5 days.
