The desk's components were unwrapped and detached from the wood skiff, brought into the cellar and quickly assembled. From arrival to completion, perhaps 30 minutes passed. I spoke to Clarence who identified himself not as the owner but as the manager (more on that…read morelater). The initial Red Flag was during the conversation I mentioned the need for certain documentation from him to go forward (Basically licensing information, and Insurance Information) as asking for a Certificate of Insurance (COI) is INDUSTRY STANDARD for a move like this. I received IMMEDIATE Push Back and was told that I didnt need said information and that I could get his licensing and bonding information from LARA (Michigan Licensing And Regulatory Affaris) which I did: [Federal License: They hold a valid federal license under USDOT #2303845] and their other license [They are registered as a domestic profit corporation in Michigan (ID: 800705051)] What i couldn't get is Bonding and or the COI ...which i need to protect ny inventory and myself from damage, and or loss. As I said this is Industry standard. I explained this to Clarence and was told that I would recieve that information at a later time after further discussions. Fast forward I talked to Clarence yesterday to confirm that he would recieve an inventory list by no later than close of Business today 5/8/2026 !! He's assured me at the time of our last phone call that that was suitable. We stayed late into the evening yesterday creating an itemized inventory list for Clarence.....only to be told today that he couldn't do it because he has another big move scheduled for "The Government" i dont know how true this is but I find it highly suspicious that 1) he did t call this morning to let us know that he couldn't complete the move which most assuredly could be the case......but in the name of professionalism and the time we have spent on the phone wouldn't it be standard to let us know? Secondly in MY OPINION I think he didnt like the verbiage that was used in the inventory email j. That it specifically asked again for the COI, and ending information as is STANDARD in this business. in our first conversation he told me that he had never been asked for that type of information before and I explained to him at that point, that when doing business with multi million dollar businesses you have to do everything right, he then went kn to tell me how many rich people from the lions and mentioned doing a move for the Taubman estate etc....which is fine but asking for a COI is standard......I feel as if Clarence is operating without being Bonded or without the proper insurance to protect not only the belongings of my company but of anybody he is moving. Again this is my opinion based off of my conversations with him and his subversive responses. He may very well have these very important documents and insurance im not saying that he doesn't what I am saying is that people need to be careful. He has cause me to lose valuable time. I did however call another moving company who gave me without question the documents that I asked for and I am looking forward to this move albeit at a higher price than expected. He said he couldn't find anywhere to dispose of the plastic wrap - THERE WAS A GARBAGE CAN IN THE DRIVEWAY NEXT TO THEIR TRUCK, I was told they aren't responsible for cleaning up after the job. I told Fordson I felt taken advantage of, being alone and older, and that his employee was lying. They made no accommodation and essentially blew me off once they were paid. My Advise: WATCH THEM EVERY MINUTE and make sure a man is around. They will lie and cheat and take advantage of a single woman. BEWARE.

They took great care in moving our furniture, even navigating super heavy pieces through narrow spaces with finesse. Many boxes of delicate kitchenware were moved without any issues or breakage. They were happy to move stuff into the right rooms and position/set things up to make our lives easier. The move did end up take 1.5 hours longer than quoted, which was $$ more, but I think some of our furniture pieces were heavier than expected and we probably ended up with more boxes than expected.

At 12:19 PM, I missed a call from an unrecognized 866 number. After checking the voicemail and realizing it was the moving company, I called back at 12:30 PM--just 11 minutes later. I was told the movers were wrapped up and en route. Another hour passed with no arrival. When I called back at 1:30 PM--now four and a half hours past my original window--I was informed that because I didn't answer within a 10-minute window, the movers had completely abandoned my job and dispatched to Ann Arbor on a college homecoming weekend. When I asked to speak with a manager, the representative refused to transfer me, offered no apology, and instead blamed me for their schedule--claiming their movers couldn't "sit around not getting paid," conveniently ignoring the fact that they were already hours late to my job. To make matters worse, she attempted a power play, telling me that if I didn't like it, I could just take a refund and not move today, knowing full well I had a strict move-in deadline. Instead of being held hostage by their appalling customer service, I immediately called Affordable Movers, who stepped up, arrived promptly, and completed my move the very same day. When I canceled with this company, they even attempted to withhold my refund. This company wasted my entire day, showed absolute contempt for my time, and delivered the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I got quotes from a couple other companies but when I contacted Corrigan to get one they actually came to my home to inventory what I had so that my quote would be accurate while the others were essentially guesstimates. The gentleman who came to do the inventory was really friendly & professional & after a chat & a walk-through he provided my estimate & a lot of information & he answered all of my questions. In the end Corrigan was about $50 higher than the other places I spoke with but they offered insurance, 3 movers instead of 2, a small discount through my work & because of that relationship I also got a couple things for free which was really nice since I was on a tight budget. After comparing my bids & doing some extensive research about customer service related to issues after the move (in case anything happened) I knew that Corrigan would be worth the extra $50. I had a feeling that in the end the other companies would cost more because they would likely take longer than they thought being that they quoted the same number of hours as Corrigan but with less movers. Once I decided to proceed I contacted Corrigan & they walked me through everything, they maintained contact with me via email & phone throughout the entire process, sent me moving tips & even called me during the move to make sure that everything was on schedule & going as planned. The 3 gentlemen who came to do the move were so nice, friendly & fun as well. They brought in wardrobe boxes right away & my aunt & I began cleaning out my closet while the guys started loading up the truck. Once we were done we just sipped coffee & booze until the guys were done. We went right to the new place & while my aunt & I were unloading the wardrobe boxes they started unpacking the truck. Being a bit OCD I had 95% of the boxes labeled which made their job & mine much easier. Once everything was unloaded they went through the whole place with me to see if I needed anything moved which I did & they tweaked everything I needed changed. My bid was for 4 hours & it took them EXACTLY 4 hours! At our new place, they placed furniture where we wanted. The new place has hardwood floors and they removed metal feet from our furniture and replaced them with felt pads that I already had. Andy even offered to do a simple repair (they didn't do the damage) on an old piece of furniture. We were amazed that they could carry two things easily and go up and down the stairs without banging into the walls. When their hands were empty they ran up and down the stairs.
