Everything was poorly packed and handled. Lots of things damaged. The 1 packer was openly throwing a fit all day while doing an abysmal job. He was acting so poorly, the other packer apologized for his behavior. We were told they would pack everything but then they showed up and were upset they had "so much" to pack. The next day when things were moved into the truck, furniture and boxes sat out in the rain. I saw a guy THROW a box off the truck and it sat out in the rain open for hours. I've moved many times in my life and have never experienced such poor service. Our personal belongings were tossed around and handled carelessly right in front of us. I made multiple comments directly to them about how they were handling things and they would just ignore what I was saying. I'm absolutely in shock. read more

I moved from PA to NC in August. The PA end of the move was great. In NC I had them load items into a storage unit and my home. When I went to the storage unit 2 days later, I found shit in my storage unit. Yes one of the workers shit in the storage unit. I have pictures, but thought a little to gross to post. I fought with United a month to get them to agree to pay the cleaning fee. One of the movers also shit in the bathroom in my new house and broke the handle on my toilet. United has done nothing to compensate me for my time- had to remove items from the storage unit to my garage and back again once cleaned. Our interaction with the moving crew was quite good. They were courteous and responded promptly to our requests. However, don't plan on receiving anything close to a fair claim evaluation for damage even if you provide multiple pictures and receipts. They will nickel/dime you down to the last penny and just refuse to pay for some items using every loophole real or imagined. I can't imagine this is a sustainable model, but in most cases, they have already collected the moving fees by the time you file any claims. What do they have to lose? Unreliable and untrustworthy. This is the first time I have EVER written any review of a business of any kind. We had such a bad experience with Corrigan today that I want to make sure it is recorded somewhere. First, they arrive outside of their scheduled window. Then, they lied to dispatch about how much was there to move (even after we had sent images of everything in advance). Then, I walked them around and made sure they new the areas to pack and agreed on which items were going to be removed. Then, I left for an appointment because they had come outside of the scheduled window. Not 5 MINUTES after I left, they walked out of the house leaving all their boxes, including one that was half-packed. We know it was 5 minutes because they emailed with a time stamp to dispatch saying that they had left. I left at 1215, their email was time stamped at 1223. I got a call from our salesman saying they had left and claimed there was 2x as much stuff as planned. Completely false!! AND, I had already walked around the house to explain what could be left if there was too much. AND, they had already started packing!!! AND, they left all their supplies!!! We are in the middle of an international move with kids and pets and we have to list our house for sale. We scheduled child care, contractors, cleaners, donations pick up and real estate photos around this anticipated move date and they just walked away?!?!?! They could have taken anything with them and they left our home completely unlocked without telling me at all. They are horrible people. read more

Had an unfortunate experience with Corrigan this Summer and I provide this information to make others aware of safety issues we had with Corrigan complying with their promise of keeping all safe during our move during COVID-19. They would wear face masks, and take recommended precautions to minimize risk. Was referred to Corrigan from family and friends who relayed they had good experiences. We were concerned of safety precautions in moving during COVID -19;and were assured by their salesperson as well as information given and on their website ,the entire crew would be wearing face masks as well as other measures. When the crew arrived at our old home and were not wearing face masks I asked the crew chief if they would be wearing them at which time another crew member told me he didn't even have a face mask. Crew chief then asked if in areas of the house where we were not present that this could be relaxed as it gets hot for the crew(high was 70 degrees that day) I was okay with this, until after a bit few if any of the five member crew were wearing face masks at all and they were now continually near my wife and I. Once they arrived at our new home I immediately spoke with the crew chief and told him we were not comfortable with them not wearing face masks at which point I was told that they never do. Additionally 2 of the 5 member crew absolutely refused to wear face masks. At this point I asked that this gets resolved as this was unacceptable. After about a 45 minute halt at which time I tried to reach our salesperson and talked with the move coordinator who again informed of what Corrigan's policy for COVID-19 safety measures is and crew would be wearing face masks. Their solution was to have the 2 crew members who refused to wear masks bring items from the truck to the front door. When I spoke with the general manager I was informed they would treat this like a move during the rain or heavy snowfall. So, I was to pay for potentially extended time and a 5 member crew,even though only three of them could fully work. I was assured by the General Manager this was how they would do this and the two crew members would not enter the house and accommodation they would make is to not charge me for 45 minutes the crew was idle-why would they charge me. Found this insulting at best. Once they started moving into the house the 2 crew members who refused to wear masks and as was told were to leave items at the front door did not comply and were coming into our home without masks in close proximity to us as we were directing where items were to be placed. After this fight all day to be protected safely I put this matter to rest other than sending our salesperson an e-mail the next day with a summation of this terrible experience and attached a picture of crew members not wearing masks while in my new home. Only at that point did Corrigan reach out and rather than deny it, acknowledged our safety concerns. They did give a discount on the move(never asked for ), unfortunately this did not make up for unnecessary stress due to the lack of safety on their part. Was told Corrigan 's moving personnel would be putting nto practice COVID safety procedures they promote to protect their customers. I have moved several times, but this is the first time that the movers have damaged my belongings with intentional acts. There was some minor accidental damage when moving everything to storage, but the real issue was when everything was picked up at the warehouse and delivered to my new home:1) All of the wardrobe boxes were opened by the driver and the clothes dropped to the end of the wardrobes. Other boxes and loose garage items were packed in on top of the clothes. Suits/dresses/shirts all crushed and dirty, and items in the wrong rooms. 2) All of the plastic wrap on the upholstered furniture was removed at the warehouse before loading so that the delivery driver could "inspect for damage so he wouldn't be blamed" and we ended up with dirt/grease/damage on the furniture. 3) They did not have a full truck available, and so in order to "meet" the promised delivery date they split the shipment. I didn't receive much of what we needed until 3 weeks after we moved in. 4) There were missing boxes that were packed by Corrigan, and documentation that shows they were not received (we checked everything off!). Even so, they refused to compensate me for those items and said I would have to go to mediation if I didn't accept their settlement offer. In the early days, I spoke with the General Manager and was told that they would "look into" the problems and make an allowance for the services that I paid for but didn't receive (Wardrobes, wrapping, etc.) After 4 months, I decided to give up and take payment they offered rather than continue to argue with them - they were happy to just keep stringing me along rather than address the issues.The only thing that went "well" was that they didn't argue about paying for repair of floor and wall damage in my new home. When the best thing you can say about a company is that they were willing to compensate for part of what they damage, it is a sign you should choose a different company. read more

Terrible Company Promised delivery date was not met. I was told the truck would not be on time but no answer as to why or when. The staff was leaving for the Thanksgiving Holiday so I was told I would just have to wait for answers. The truck arrived a week late. I was told that my goods sat in Iowa for a week because of the Thanksgiving holiday. I asked about the delivery time frame before I signed the contract and specifically how the holiday would affect delivery time. I was told the holiday does not affect delivery. They totally brushed me off. My credit card was charged when the truck left MI and sat for a week in Iowa. Terrible customer service, non caring company. Do not use. read more

DO NOT HIRE: Cheated, Lied to & Stolen From I could not be less unhappy with Corrigan. They misrepresented every single thing they did. In addition, they stole three boxes. One contained a valuable rug. Where do I begin?! The salesman told me he would give me an exact move in date. Not so. I was given a window. Troy, the driver and his assistant, Junior, moved my furniture in the rain without bothering to cover anything. They ignored the high value form until delivery when Troy had me take a photo of my form (which he earlier told me he couldn't accept because I didn't fill it in right) and text it to him. Nothing was padded in either home. I called to complain (which is why I wasn't able to check the boxes to ensure they all had inventory stickers on them). Katie told me Corrigan has no way of talking to their drivers on moving day. That alone should tell you a lot. I handed my phone to the driver. Done. They started covering the furniture, but still never padded anything. They crammed (and I mean crammed) artwork, flat on its side) into the top of the truck. I was never allowed to see the inventory on their iPad. Apparently it wasn't working right, so all I could do was sign or not be moved. I didn't get to check that all the boxes had inventory stickers on them. I'm still crying over the clothes, handbags, shoes and a Navajo rug I had in that box. I also didn't get to check their damage list. They lied and lied about the condition of my furniture. They forgot a stop! Troy left me a blistering voicemail blaming me! When they arrived in Baltimore, I was asked to help them figure out where to park their large van because it wouldn't fit where I live. Sorry, that's not my job. Nothing was padded. They left a large box under a piece of furniture. Many things were damaged - almost all my high value items were damaged. Next, after THREE MONTHS I have finally settled on all the damaged and broken furniture. To the tune of $5,000. It's just about the cost of my move. Interesting. For these past three months I've had an entire bedroom FILLED with broken furniture. I now have to wait for a company to pick it all up. I wonder how long that will be. Once Corrigan finished their move, they washed their hands of me. They could have cared less. They bumped me up to United's claims service, which is inexplicable. There is no rhyme nor reason to their logic for denying responsibility. For example, I'm told the matching damage to my love seats (from what looks like boxes being stacked on the cushions), isn't covered because the driver didn't note any damage to them when he picked them up. Therefore, they had no way of knowing that it was move related. It seems to me that If furniture leaves without damage, and we agree they're now damaged, and the damage is the same to both, then it has to be move related. No so! At the same time, I'm told that the driver noted damage when he picked up other items, so the new damage isn't new. The driver also lied about pre-existing conditions. For example, he said my carpets were already rolled up. Not so. And he noted all kinds of damage to furniture with none. So I paid $5,000 to have my belongings moved inter-state. The damage to them was far larger than the cost to move them. However, I'm being paid far less. Do not hire Corrigan. Although I know that my happiness with my new life in Baltimore will someday eclipse my experience with Corrigan, it will take a while for the bitter memory of being out-right cheated and lied to go away, read more

Talk about a crooked organization.. they steal and break your items and when you file a claim, their movers lie and they use every little loophole to deny your claimed items.. We had a desk broken by the movers ripping the top off and the movers said just throw it away and we will take care of it.. yeah lie.. now they won't reimburse us because the movers lied. Next they break glassware, the movers on the delivery side said throw it away and we will note it... again denied because they want to inspect it.. lied Electronics stolen during the move.. mover on delivery side said we will take care of it.. lie.. What's funny, the mover on the origination didn't have enough tags on everything so he said don't sweat it.. it will all get there.. lie Their movers force you into signing their documents without informing the customer about losing all their rights about this. Then they use the tariff laws to their advantage while not using it for heavier items.. Be prepared for a lengthy claim process for your own goods. Don't use these guys.. read more

I hate to be different from most of the other reviews, but I don't want people to make the same mistake I did. I am still running a tally on all the furniture and items my movers damaged/shattered/lost the parts for. This includes my bed, my favorite lamp, an expensive piece of exercise equipment, and three bookcases. Pieces of broken glass were scattered so thoroughly throughout a box in which my favorite lamp shattered, I wondered--as I tried in vain to avoid cutting myself while retrieving other items--whether the box had been shaken like a maraca. The boxes were so obscurely mislabeled (e.g., items for my kitchen were labeled "desk") that unpacking was a nightmare. The contents of the boxes were so overwrapped and overpapered (see K.S.'s review below) that you could spend two hours unpacking each box, carefully observing whether each wad of paper contained an expensive pen or kitchen tool (yes, wrapped individually), or perhaps a loose thumbtack the workers unearthed while moving a piece of furniture, or, more often than not, nothing. Alternatively, you could throw out all the wads, as someone who was trying to help me did, having understandably lost her patience. The nightmare continues even now. The people involved at every step were so nice and used all this rhetoric of "sit back and don't worry." They seemed super professional, in consonance with the reviews. I wish I _had_ worried and kept a closer eye on the packers. Actually, what I really wish is that I'd gone with Mayflower. I would have paid $1000 more, but it almost certainly wouldn't have been as disastrous. read more

We have used Corrigan Moving twice in the last 5 years, both cross country moves and we can't say enough nice things about them. Everyone that we dealt with from our coordinator Bernice to the packing crew and loading crew in Arizona, our fabulous driver Harvey and the unloading crew in Michigan were the best! We were able to make small changes before the move, we were able to contact Bernice when we needed her and we were kept informed of the progress of our belongings as they moved across the country. Our original move from Michigan to Arizona went just as smoothly. I would highly recommend using Corrigan for your move. read more

I chose United based on reviews and references from others who have used them for previous long distance moves. When I called United for a quote, I was told Corrigan would be my local company. Below is my story. I scheduled a 2000 mile move 2 months ahead of time so I could have the pickup and delivery dates I needed. The pick-up date was not an issue, but I was told that because of our parking situation a smaller truck would be loaded in the parking lot, and a semi would be on the nearby road. There would be a transfer from smaller truck to the semi, and from there our move would start. Well, less than 24 hours before move day, our coordinator told us the smaller truck would be there, but there would be no semi at this time. Our stuff would be going to a warehouse, and our delivery window would still be met. Okay, fine. I don't like the warehouse thing, but I trusted them at this point. I received some more information over the next week and a half, most of it was telling me that they weren't sure when our stuff would arrive. The Friday prior to Memorial Weekend, I received a call saying our stuff would not be arriving on time, and a delivery date was not known. I asked to speak with a manager or somebody who could give me more information, but they all left early for the weekend. I asked to speak with somebody when they returned the next week. Nobody called. On the last day of the delivery window, I received a call saying they *think* our stuff will be delivered the following Sunday, 4 days later than promised. I didn't know for sure until the night before if that date was a sure thing, when the driver called to confirm delivery. He apologized for the late delivery, and explained that it wasn't his fault, and he's not sure what went wrong at the Corrigan office. Our things did arrive, four days late, and we were reimbursed for those four days based on their set $100 per day late rate. Thanks. You missed a 9 day delivery window by 4 days and I got $400 back on a move that cost 20+ times that. You know what would make me feel better? An apology from whoever messed up our delivery window. Still waiting for that call I requested. Now for the delivery. The driver was great. One of the unpackers showed up late, and requested breaks because he had a toothache. He was vaping around the semi door, so that was nice. Luckily none of our stuff smells funny. When they started unpacking the truck, boxes started falling out. I'm standing there with my bingo sheet, ready to mark off numbers, and boxes are falling out of the truck. I'm glad nobody was hurt in that process. The way stuff was jammed into that trailer, I can't believe more stuff wasn't damaged. I can't speak to the claim process since we have yet to fill out a claim form for the missing box and scratched furniture. I will be doing that when all of our stuff is unpacked from boxes, hopefully within the next few weeks. PS - you should invest in the electronic inventory system. Nobody wants to deal with all of that writing and paperwork. read more

When their sales person came to the house we felt comfortable and decided to go with Corrigan. Our move was unique because we had to move our furniture to their storage facility until we were ready for it in our new state. Shortly after signing the contract our account was handed off to an associate. This associate had extremely poor communication. We finally called the associate and let her know that we would be closing on our home on September 24th giving her about one month heads up. She was not able to schedule the move that far out. The next time we talked with her we shared we would like a delivery Sept. 27th. We thought we could use a couple of days to get other things settled. After many calls initiated by us to firm up a delivery date we were told of a 5 business day window for delivery of our furniture. If we know this we would have NEVER added the 3 days. Unfortunately, they used the 27th day to begin the window. After another call initiated by us, we were told the furniture will arrive on the last day of the 5 day window. They will call us with a time. This has caused us a lot of anxiety and stress. I would not recommend this company for state to state move. read more

I hired Corrigan a couple of months ago to move me from one apartment to another & they were fantastic. I got quotes from a couple other companies but when I contacted Corrigan to get one they actually came to my home to inventory what I had so that my quote would be accurate while the others were essentially guesstimates. The gentleman who came to do the inventory was really friendly & professional & after a chat & a walk-through he provided my estimate & a lot of information & he answered all of my questions. In the end Corrigan was about $50 higher than the other places I spoke with but they offered insurance, 3 movers instead of 2, a small discount through my work & because of that relationship I also got a couple things for free which was really nice since I was on a tight budget. After comparing my bids & doing some extensive research about customer service related to issues after the move (in case anything happened) I knew that Corrigan would be worth the extra $50. I had a feeling that in the end the other companies would cost more because they would likely take longer than they thought being that they quoted the same number of hours as Corrigan but with less movers. Once I decided to proceed I contacted Corrigan & they walked me through everything, they maintained contact with me via email & phone throughout the entire process, sent me moving tips & even called me during the move to make sure that everything was on schedule & going as planned. The 3 gentlemen who came to do the move were so nice, friendly & fun as well. They brought in wardrobe boxes right away & my aunt & I began cleaning out my closet while the guys started loading up the truck. Once we were done we just sipped coffee & booze until the guys were done. We went right to the new place & while my aunt & I were unloading the wardrobe boxes they started unpacking the truck. Being a bit OCD I had 95% of the boxes labeled which made their job & mine much easier. Once everything was unloaded they went through the whole place with me to see if I needed anything moved which I did & they tweaked everything I needed changed. My bid was for 4 hours & it took them EXACTLY 4 hours! The service was worth every penny especially since I was confident that if I found any issues, broken items, missing items, etc. that they would fix it right away. I will definitely use Corrigan again & I highly recommend you use them as well!! read more

They even were good natured when we had to unpack a bunch of boxes to find a cable box I needed to return to Comcast! I offered to buy their lunch as a thank you, but they wouldn't accept. 2. The movers worked efficiently on the pack up and the delivery. Everything was tagged appropriately and worksheets were written legibly. They were patient as I decided where to put furniture. 3. Expensive for partial home moves and damaged furniture upon arrival that was blamed on the owner or could not be repaired. If using this company, take pictures of all furniture prior to moving to have proof that damage occurred during the move and. Also, record conversations with repair agent when damage is being assessed. This will help when a claim is filed. At least the people were nice when saying they would not cover the damage. read more

The team at Corrigan are true professionals. I have used their services for 3 moves in the last 6 years. Two were local moves and one was a move across the country, so when I say these people know what they are doing, believe me. Moving is such a hassle in general, and when you decide to hire professionals to take care of things I looked for people that were price-competitive and were trustworthy. I found both in Corrigan. The team members there met with me ahead of time to do a home inventory to really nail down how to quote the move and what resources and people would be necessary. They updated me the day before each move, and every one of the 3 teams I've had move me were all friendly and professional. These are real people who respect your things, ask you questions about what you want and where you want it, and make every effort to keep your home clean and your items secured. I've never had one piece broken or any issues, even with my move across the country that required serious logistics with another moving and hoisting company too. I cannot sing Corrigan's praises enough and recommend them to friends and family when they look to find movers. Good people. Good prices. Excellent service. What are you waiting for? I should have done it myself! I got a quote from Corrigan because I thought they were a professional moving company and not just some guys with a truck. A rep came to my house to see all of my things that needed moving. I got two quotes- one for just furniture and one for both furniture and all boxes. The quote for just the furniture was over 1000 less so I decided to move the boxes myself. I did it with one friend and it took us 4 hours to load, move, and unload all boxes to their appropriate rooms. The quote Corrigan gave me was that it was going to take an additional 2 people 9 hours to move the boxes. That should have been my first clue- they over estimate because they move slow. Their rep said that they do "loose" packing which means they bring a bigger truck than you need and everything is put quickly into the truck so they don't have to spend time making sure everything fits tightly (sounds like a good plan). Well, when they showed up they were 1 person short and the truck did not look very big for all of my furniture. Throughout the time they were putting things in the truck they spent a great deal of time trying to make everything fit without any empty space because I assume they were unsure if everything was going to fit. They would put something in, take it out and try to fit it in a different way. It ended up taking 5 hours to load the truck. It was ridiculous- I had even moved a lot of the furniture outside or into the garage to make it quicker. It should not have taken more than 2-3 hours tops. After about 3.5 hours another guy showed up in a different truck to help. When the first truck was almost full they just decided to put the last couple of things into the second truck and both trucks went to my new house. If they were going to use 2 trucks they might as well just filled both trucks quickly! The unloading was a little quicker but still took longer than it should have. One guy would carry one small item to it's destination very slowly. I ended up telling him to just put things in the garage and then I moved them to their destination so it wouldn't take so long. They ended up telling me that my bed was "broken" so they wouldn't have to put it back together. They did put floor covering down but didn't put any blankets on the door jams or anywhere else to protect the house. There were dirty handprints on my new white walls and a few dents in the drywall. When I move again, which thankfully won't be for a while I definitely won't choose Corrigan! read more

In reviewing the whole move, what Corrigan did with our furniture was both ludicrous, and unnecessary. Corrigan did not need to disassemble each of our larger furniture into fifty million pieces. Then Corrigan proceeded to pack these items into many different boxes, with most not even being labeled, what went with what box. This was how they handled each item, but I will focus on this next piece of furniture, as an example. We have a king sized bed that is motorized and could be put into different positions, before they disassembled it. Now the bed is missing numerous parts, does not move into various positions, in fact does nothing ,because it was never put back together the way they took it apart. We have a $4000.00 bed only a few years old, that is nothing but junk. The wood frame for the king bed also was put into 10 million pieces, and stuffed into many boxes, that they never labeled. We still have many items missing, even after going thru all boxes. Nobody from Corrigan or Corporate however believes this! When you make such a big move, you have to entrust the company that is handling your items. I have to say our trust and believe for Corrigan that they did their best, on our behalf, was nothing more than lip service. I could write a novel on this horrific experience, instead we will move on with our life, but will never make this mistake again.
