They installed pool over 20Y ago, never had an issue with pool. Only weather delays. When we did need some piping repair this year, they not only did the job well, its actually better then the original they did 20 years ago. They make apts, and keep them unlike other pool companies. Signed contract September 2020 for install end of January 2021. Construction started June 2021 for a "30-45" day project (still not complete May 27, 2022). Many issues: -Concrete color is salmon, not tan, even AAA workers have said they don't think it is the color they intended -$10k in damages to asphalt driveway (that we were assured by the owner wouldn't happen because we would start our build in January when the ground is frozen) -Major grading issues that causes pool to flood any time it rains -Project abandoned by Brian in August 2021 -Firepit was thrown off to the side and not incorporated into our design -Poor Quality/Workmanship with concrete: no 90° angles, crooked lines, sharp surface, etc. -Tan fence installed with 3-4 different shades (after wrong fence color against our HOA was delivered) -Backwash line overflows/doesn't drain and is eroding our basement foundation and retaining wall -Not enough characters to continue this list. May 2022: Still waiting on project to be finished/corrected. No urgency because this is their "busy season" and have new pools to install. This is the biggest financial mistake I have ever made. My AAA Pool install started in January 2020. Today is 14 December 2020 and it is still not complete. Pool flooded on Easter Sunday (April 12) after a heavy rain exposed poor grading by AAA. Band aide fixes to correct since. Weekly calls and texts go unanswered. When I call the owner of the company, I'm told to call the foreman. Foreman doesn't answer phone or return texts. On the off chance he does answer the phone, I'm told the same thing "I'll have a punch out crew come over next week" Every time it rains, my back yard floods. Multiple pools of standing water. our pool was supposed to start building in September 2017, but didn't start until October, which is not a big deal but I never once received call telling me they are going to be late, I was the one making all calls to see what's going on. And other nagative thing was I ordered a safety cover from them, so the decision was made that they will close my pool when the cover arrives, and they said it will take a couple weeks, well over a month later a cover didn't arrive, I don't know if they forgot to order it or what happened, so they told me to keep the pump and jets running at all time so it won't freeze, the jets were running but with wind pushing water around it it froze all the way to the point no water was coming off the jets, I called I told them so they sent Wayne to close the pool without a cover still, a wonderful guy who spent half day outside and in freezing cold trying to make sure my jets aren't frozen, after while he decided to close the pool and hope for the best for the summer. He came last week to open the pool, well one jet was working fine and the other was squirting water in weird way, so from my understanding those the jets are done, which sucks from my kids because they were looking forward for them, and the fact that this is brand new pool and jets are already broken and we didn't even get to use them once. Update: We had leak in our basement for a while now, we thought it was the roof at first, but just recently we had somebody come look at our house and he noticed that concrete patio wasn't done right by AAA pools. We called and explain this to them , obviously they sat there and push back and came out with every excuse out there that it not their fault. When in facts the concrete that is touching our house is leaning toward the house and should be leaning away from the house to keep the water away. We spoke to Ian and it's more like to speaking to a wall. Again all excuses not their fault, but he said we will bring some dirt to cover those hall under the concrete, every week passes and nothing, so we told them finally if we don't get it by Thursday just forget it. Of course today we get a call saying that they can't make it, and he goes about that again not their fault and they are just trying to do us a favor, but they would if they could. I bet if I was new paying customer they would of made it, and pull people from another job site to do other work, just like they did when they were building my pool, but since I am current(not anymore) customer they are tight on schedule and time. This company will brag they are people of god, yes, if their god is money! They will do anything to get your business, after that is done they will do absolute nothing else for you. Once they get your money they won't look back. Do your self a favor and stay away from this company and find another company, that is more honest and not just about ripping people off that will build your pool like we will with our new house. In the duration of having our pool we have been experiencing an issue in our basement where when we get heavy rain it floods our spare room. We have gone through many trial & error solutions to find why the basement would flood since it wasn't doing it when we 1st moved in. We had not experienced it from moving in to our home up until the construction of our pool. We have had our roof and gutters inspected. The heavy rain came and it flooded. We purchased covers for our egress windows thinking that they fill up with rain water and then drain into the basement. Again the next heavy rain, basement floods. We had our exterior windows all replaced prior to moving in and then elected to have them all re-caulked thinking the cause might have been the windows. To no avail, flooding continued. So it had gotten to the point that maybe it was the patio. So I decided to inspect our patio & found gaps at the corners under the concrete that correlates with the problem area. So we tested the theory w/the water hose to simulate heavy rain & ran the hose for 5ish minutes & within 20 minutes a pool of water from inside of the wall onto the floor. My husband contact AAA to see if they could come fill the gaps below the concrete to seal off the hole allowing the leak. He was referred to Ian who was the construction supervisor. Ian is not the best at replying or communicating. We would go for weeks waiting for a return call but would end up calling again. It got to the point that I decided to take over the issue being that I am a bit more persistent. I called & spoke to Michelle. I requested to speak with a supervisor and she asked me to give her a bit of information of what it was in regards. I gave her a rundown and that I needed somebody from AAA to come to my home by the end of the week to look at the issue or I would have to take the necessary steps since we have been doing this runaround for over 3 weeks She then referred me to Ian and that he was on a consult. I told her I was apprehensive to have Ian to call back and that I would be calling back in a couple hours if I hadn't heard back. Well over 2 hours passed & not to my surprise no returned call. So I called again & spoke to Michelle she said she thought she heard Ian say he would get someone by Friday and that he should be calling. An hour later Ian called & said that he would be having someone to check it out but to be clear that they would not be fixing anything at the time. Friday comes and Danny who is contracted through AAA told us that there is in fact gaps below the concrete and that the ground should have been built up a bit more. He said that the entire house would need to be built up. He told us that he would be speaking to Ian as soon as he left about what he suggests. I had a call from Ian later that day saying he spoke to Danny & it sounds like we need a lot of dirt. He stated that he would not be able to give us the amount of dirt we would need for the entire exterior foundation of the house. I told him that I didn't expect him to provide the dirt for the entire house we just wanted the dirt to be provided for along the parts of the patio where they had built. He said he could possibly bring a couple buckets of dirt but that would be pointless because it would all wash away in the rain if we don't have all of the dirt in place. I told him all I wanted was for them to fix the gaps under the concrete patio and that we would worry about the rest of our foundation. I told him we have basically gutted our spare bedroom and can not go forward with fixing it until the source of the leak was repaired. He continued to tell me that it would be pointless but that he would bring it and that when the dirt washed away and the basement leaks again that it would be all that he would do and basically an "I told you so". I began to get extremely frustrated being that in previous phone calls claimed that maybe there was a crack in the foundation and that might be the issue. Which we argued that that might be true but that it wasn't an issue prior to construction of the pool and there is no saying they hadn't caused it. I told him even if there is a crack of there is no hole for the water to drain into then no water could get to the basement and we would have no flooding. He then said well you said you changed your roof and gutters so obviously you didn't think it was the foundation. I told him we basically tried every possible solution and reason that water could get into the basement and that this was our final discovery. He had started getting extremely confrontational & condescending to me. I don't know if was me being a woman or actually knowing what I was talking about. But I have to say it was triggering and I got more frustrated then I should have and started raising my voice I told him that never mind I will just handle it myself. I see all over the social media AAAPools are installing pools every day and marketing to take more jobs , that's not fair keeping me hanging so they make new project while my job was supposed to be completed 5 months ago, and they want me to wait another month "they are not sure too" I believed them when Richard said they don't have enough people because of the COVID-19 but it's not true and AAAPools are trying to buy more time to make more jobs ! That's fine but finish my job first , i was texting the owner Richard in private (after I got tired reaching Brian he ignored my requests in a heart beat) and still no respond. Richard already collected full $76k in cash for the project, I'm waiting on them to: -Fix the asphalt your trucks broke -Fix the air bubbles in coping around the pool -Inspect the leak in the filter -Pour new wider slabs to cover the space between the Autocover and decking - tan the decking - the auto cover is not closing all the way - fix the lights - schedule final inspection - bring written warranty on the shell , filter system and workmanship. I'm the job in Warrenton started February 2020. I left this request on one of the posts in the past, but seems they can remove it from Facebook and didn't bother to call me. I'll leave my request here on this thread hoping Richard will get time to respond , my next step is BBB and DPOR (Virginia department of professional and occupational regulation) see how to get my issue resolved. ----- Run from this company. Am I enjoying my pool? No. What's the quality of my pool? Couldn't tell you, because it was supposed to be built and done by the end of September, but here we are October 4th, not even a scratch in the dirt or intent to start on the project. We contacted AAA through a neighbor who was getting a pool, who got the work completed 3 months late and is still having trouble getting them to come back and fix some of the bad work. I've tried to get into contact with anyone over at AAA to get some answers, but all I get is a "We will call you back" and I never get anything. I've made more of an attempt to contact them they have even trying to get a hold of me. We signed a contract with them in April, was told the project would be done in September 30. LOL!!! October 4th and they haven't even dug a hole. I am at the point of breaking the contract and just being on a wait list with a more professional company that will contact me. But no worries if you do get a hold of somebody you will get a very pleasing or reassuring "it is what it is, what would you like me to do?" STAY FAR AWAY! Unless you want a pool completed in maybe 1 year just stay far away. I really wanted to do service with AAA but they've drove themselves away. As you can see from other reviews it's not a first with the problems, they seem to love and make the same mistakes with customers. One star is generous. We also had similar experiences as the other reviewers, so I'll try to limit my review. It will not be as short as I'd like it to be. Negative: Somehow I knew there would be problems when the crew showed up with no roll-off to remove the dirt and no port-a-john for the workers. As for a roll-off, Richard's initial estimate was 10-12 one ton trucks full of dirt, so I guess they thought they only needed the small truck. I lost count at 49 one ton trips to the dump to get rid of it, but I think that was the final total. In the meantime, the dirt was piled up on our new driveway and fence. As for bathroom facilities for the crew, well, that ended up being the side of our garage and after less than two weeks it smelled like an open sewer, regardless of rinsing it down. Doesn't the health department have something to say about business being conducted this way? Positive: Biggest positive is the work Orlando did -- he gets 5 stars -- from the initial dig to placement and leveling of the pool. He was very methodical and particular. An extremely skilled worker who should have been the foreman. He knew more about the entire process than any of them, especially the "foreman." When his work was done, he was sent on to the next job so, unfortunately, he wasn't there until the end. He needs to take his talents and go work for a better company. Ehhhh: The concrete workers also did a fairly good job but, though the stamped deck looked good when they finished, we have since had annoying puddling in a number of low spots after the rain. In addition, by their less than professional behavior at times, we would not want them to do any other work. Near the end of the job, they were also ribbing one of their co-workers when a cop would drive by. Their buddy was, apparently, in the country without proper authorization. Before closing the pool in '18 (four years after installation) we have completely redone the plumbing of the filtration system and it is now straight and correctly installed -- by us. It worked before, but didn't look like it was professionally done. The foreman's handiwork. In the end, they didn't come back to remove the 40 or so pounds of rock they left in the bottom of the dirty half-filled pool and never seeded our grass after covering a large portion with sand and rock. They even left their construction fencing behind. We called several times, but they merely ignored us. So we had to finish scooping the rocks out of the freezing water to finish the job. Then a month or so later, they had the gall to leave messages asking if they could come take pictures to put in their pool gallery. We did not return their calls, but emailed them one good photo after we finished getting the pool ready to use. They never used it. All in all, a seriously unorganized, unprofessional business. Our advice would be, take your tens of thousands in pool financing and go see the other guys. read more

extremely bad customer service from Manager. Owner wasn't very helpful either. Had appointment scheduled for 5/26 quoted $300. never showed or called. I finally called at 4:30 to be told "oh I was supposed to call you. we cant make it. Hopefully tomorrow" 5/27 4:45 no show or call. I called left messages for both office manager and owner. No response. Close to 5pm service guy called and said that he wouldnt make it today and asked if he could come sat morning. (odd because originally I was told they do not make weekend appointments) I reluctantly said okay doubting they would show up. I had a gathering planned for Monday (memorial day) I was hoping after all this chaos to miraculously be able to have the pool opened by then so I started the process on my own. I removed all the plugs, turned on the filter, installed the fittings, backwashed the filter and shocked the pool. To my surprised they actually did show up Sat morning. They didn't have to do much because I had already done so much. They checked the filter to make sure it was running properly. Demonstrated to me how to work everything. added some shock and installed the hand rail. I spoke the service guy about my horrible experience and I let him know that I would give him part of the ticket amount $160 and I would like the OWNER to call me before I paid the rest. They were there maybe an hour. I don't recall them even testing the water levels. They "couldn't" vacuum the pool either. The office manager called me on Monday (Memorial Day) I had guests over for the gathering and I decided it would not be a good time to take the phone call because I wanted to discuss the issue at length with the Owner. On June 5 we received a bill for $190. $50 more than the $300 we were originally quoted. I faxed a response to the company attaching their ticket that reflected $300. I explained that we had someone waiting for them for TWO days and that we had already done majority of what needed to be done to open the pool because they were unable to show up and the time we agreed too and needed them too. I listed everything that we did to prep to reflect how little the service guys actually needed to do when they arrived. Once again I asked that the OWNER call me to please discuss before I made any payment and left my phone number. I had not received any phone calls or correspondence after that. On June 27th I received a generic letter indicating: -Unfortunately, we are unable to provide al a carte pool opening services. -As a courtesy we credited the account $50 for the cover already being removed. -that they did not require anyone to be at the residence at the time of service. (I am not sure how they expected to be paid) -and finally asking us to pay $140 to bring our account current. If they would have showed up or at least given proper notice the 2 days they were supposed to come they could have had full payment that day. Cash. Because of the horrible customer service, lack of professionalism and lack of actual work performed. I do not feel we should have to pay the full amount. I have filed with BBB. RUN AWAY. Richard Shaffer is a liar and will hide behind his office and crew to not keep his word. He refuses to talk to us regarding the situation and sent a final bill closing out an incomplete job. It was a horrible experience working with this business, details of my experience are offered below and it looks like I am not the only one. We met with Richard (the owner) in March of 2019 and again in March of 2020 to explore putting an inground pool in our backyard. We discussed all details I had done my research to make an informed purchase. We signed the agreement (proposal) in March of 2020. The proposal stated that the pool would be complete NLT 30 Jul. However, he claimed it would likely be started in the next 30 days and take 30 days. He promised the pool was going to be turnkey. I mentioned my concern that every detail was not spelled out on paper however he told us to not worry as he was a man of God and of his word. He provided his cell phone number guaranteeing if we had any concerns call and he would address them. It was mid-May and nothing. I spoke with Mark and couldn't get an answer as to when they would start so I requested Richard call me. Richard would not engage with me initially until we threatened to walk away. Initially Mark said we had not choice because we signed the contract. I told him it was a proposal and if they did not meet the agreement, we had every right to walk away. Richard called promising to do a better job and that COVID was the cause. They finally started the pool after Memorial Day. Thru the next four weeks the project progressed with minimal communication. We had no idea when they were coming and going or what was planned. The good thing was we were working from with the pandemic to have some oversight. Brian, the foreman, failed to communicate with us about anything. During the work, they damaged our driveway, left trash in our tree line, and broke our well head by backing over it with a bobcat (early June). We would have to call Mark in the office to try to get answers and it would take days to get a response. At one point the office told us our liner was backordered and the next day a different crew came to install the liner. By the 4th of July we had a pool minus the concrete. Over the next two weeks people would randomly show up resulting in the concrete, again no coordination or communication. By mid-July we had concrete. Weeks later nothing and there were multiple issues that needed to be addressed/fixed (damage and shoddy work), we still did not have the pool heater functional, open holes for plumbing/electrical inspection, the pool needed to be cleaned from the concrete work, training to care for the pool, and the cover addressed. After multiple calls to the office and texts to Richard, some of the shoddy work was addressed and it was diagnosed that the pool heater installed was not functional. Again, calls and texts and arguing weeks later our well head was fixed and new heater installed. The third week of October, we received a final bill in the mail. I called the office and texted Richard again because everything was not done per our discussion/agreement. No response from Richard and I talk to a different office person (4th one I dealt with; Lady don't recall her name, Lynn, Mark, and now Ian) explaining the situation. Ian say's he must wait until the morning to talk to Brian to find out what is going on. He called the next day to tell me that all the things I explained were not written specifically in the proposal so as far as they were concerned the job was complete. Not a turnkey pool that we paid for... out of pocket expense to fix driveway damage, no sealed concrete, no cover, and no real idea on how to care for our pool. An eight-week project took about 5 months to complete. HOWEVER, on the last stretch, when all they had to do was seal the patio around the pool, the workers were "too cold" to power wash the patio area and sat in the truck for over an hour before getting to work. While "working" they did not fix any of the cracks that we were told would get fix AND they sealed in mud spots. We called, emailed, and text messaged asking when they were going to come back and fix it only to get the run around. It has been over four months and nothing. Richard is a kind, warm hearted, wonderful man that is there to make people's paradises. You need to let him :) I recently convinced my wife to let me have a pool and after calling three different places (over the course of 2-3 years) we went with AAA Pools. I'm going to admit that it was weird in the beginning since we got an email from a yahoo account from some guy saying he was the owner. I had read a review on Yelp that mentioned that and they didn't give a good review. I went ahead with it anyway and I'm happy I did. Richard and the AAA Pools team is amazing! He spent a ton of time with our family going over design aspects and ideas and making sure we got what we wanted within our budget constraints. He did an amazing job managing expectations. Now, I will say that Richard is a bit more direct/gruff than I'm sure others are used to but luckily my dad had prepared me for that :). He's an amazing Christian man that has a wonderful story to tell. I really can't say enough good about him. We settled on a price (it was amazing btw!) and we gave him a deposit then agreed on a start date. His crew came out (it's still under construction as of this writing) and have been working hard during the Winter! His crew is extremely professional, very kind and just generally great people. Mark Tinnel works in the office and will do EVERYTHING to ensure you are taken care of. Brian is a Project Manager (I think) and came out to our home to give us some wonderful design ideas. Lastly, Orlando and his crew.. well... I've spent the most time with them and you really can't have a better group. I can't say enough good things about the process (they made it so simple on us), the people (always willing to help) and the product so far (it looks amazing!). I was talking to one of their project managers about something and apologized for being a nuisance. He said "It's your pool, your money. You want to make sure you get what you want". Even though that's accurate, it was nice to hear another company say it. I expressed concern to Richard about my gas line's direction. The gas company told me to not even bother because no company would come out and trench for us so WE could save some money. Said it wouldn't be done. Not possible. HAHAHAAHHAAHAHAHAH... Richard and AAA Pools proved him wrong!! They came out and dug a straight line trench for me! They did it simply because I had asked if there was a way to do it so I could save some money. BEST. Stay clear! This company discharged a significant amount salt water in a concentrated area unto a neighbor's property causing some erosion damage. Then is company stated that any damaged caused by their actions is the fault of the pool owner for not having proper retaining wall and drainage. After interviewing several different companies and a few years mulling it over, we decided to have our pool installed by AAA Pools. Richard is a very effective and personable salesman. I did my research, I saw all of these great reviews, I spoke with others that used him so I went into this contract as informed as any consumer would be, that and I trusted the man sitting in front of me to do what he said he would do. I couldn't imagine that so many folks would have so many nice things to say if that weren't the case. RUN - do not walk - away from AAA Pools. If I could have given them zero stars, I would have and my hope is that I can save someone from the same frustration that we encountered. My review exceeded the character limit for this site but if you are considering a pool know this, the moral of my story is if you like being told what you want, paying for something this large mostly up front and just letting it unfold and not having one bit of control over anything, if you like asking questions that go unanswered or having concerns that are not addressed, a manager that you can never get in touch with and only a quarter of your texts ever responded to, then AAA Pools is your contractor! Oh - after all of this, don't forget that they warranty your pool for life but only if you purchase your chemicals through them and use them to open and close your pool annually. So, after all of this, if you still even want them on your property - or shoot, if you can get them to answer your call and you are ok with all of the above, then you're good to go. I'm not, so I guess my warranty on my brand new pool is void because I have absolutely no interest at all in maintaining such a one sided relationship with a service based company that...builds pools - sure! And they are pretty - yup! And they hold water. But that's about all I got out of AAA Pools. I hope your experience works out better than ours did! read more

Crooks! These guys began a simple in ground pool October 11, 2019. Told me the project would take 1 month. It's now May 8, 2020 and they're not even close. I have made numerous requests to the office all the way up to the owner to fix existing issues and finish the project. Nothing. I contacted the owner, Richard Shaver, after he didn't return my calls for a month and asked him to resolve the issues. He immediately took ZERO ownership of the problem and started in on the the "rain" story. Really?! It's been raining for seven months? It has barely rained all winter and spring. He actually told me "it is what it is" and "they'll get to it when they get to it." There are numerous outstanding issues in the work that has been completed to include discoloration in the pores concrete pool deck. The grade of the yard around the pool (aka empty hole in yard) is so bumpy it almost throws me of my riding mower. And many more. Veterans! Don't fall for the military discount trick either. This guy is shady salesman who just marks up the other items to make up for the "discount." Bottom line is don't be stupid and get duped like I did. The only reason I went with these guys is because they are located right up the street from me. I try to give my money to local businesses. My husband has wanted a stamped concrete patio for years. Mr. Shaver with AAA Pools has made that happen. His guys were on time and did great, clean work. I don't know how they've gotten such a negative reputation because I've had nothing but great service. My pool took a bit longer to install but that was only because of rain. They finished my pool in three weeks and put my entire backyard back together...better than it was before they started! They even planted grass seed and straw and my grass started coming in within a week. I had a pump problem just this past week and someone came by the very same day to check it out and make sure it was working properly. I would recommend them to anyone! read more

Customer Service horrible!!! AAA Pool recently installed my pool this summer, which I am satisfied with but the customer service to get to the completion of the pool was unacceptable. Got the run around from the foreman and the manager in the office to get repairs on our broken sidewalk, grass and French drain repair (which took over 2 months to repair or was never fixed at all). I just spoke to the owner in regards to another issue and wanted to voice my overall feedback and comments about my service (yes it was a couple of months later) but the owner was completely disrespectful to me and very combative. He was not willing to listen to the comments and very defensive about anything that was brought up. I was yelled at, interrupted and talked down too and this was from the owner!! If you are going to have a person on the ground or in the office working for you that is going to represent your business you need to make sure that they are actually communicating the issues/concerns to the owner from your customer and not blaming the customer for not calling you directly. If you are considering using this company please be mindful of the lack of customer service you will receive and the runaround you will get to rectify any situation and/or questions you may have. With someone spending almost $50,000 you would think you would be more willing to be responsive and respectful to them as a customer as this is a lot of money that just came to your business and out of their pockets. You might get a nice pool out of it but the headache might not be worth it. I will not be using them anymore for any additional services. read more

If I could rate less than one star I would and I didn't even get passed the estimation process!!! My husband and I want to have a swimming pool installed. Having already contacted a few local and national companies, and given a friend's recommendation, we called AAA for a final estimate. Other vendor estimates gave us a "ballpark" on cost but what was one more estimate?. My initial contact with their scheduling office was great. The woman I spoke with was friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable. I let her know that we had received a few estimates. She asked me how much a certain vendor had quoted and I honestly told her the number. Even with the questions she asked, I was left with the feeling that I could potentially be working with a top notch organization. Estimate day arrives...LET THE POSTURING BEGIN!!! Richard (the estimator and self-proclaimed owner of the company) contacts me by phone an hour before our scheduled time and says "...my scheduling girl messed up again. I can't make our appointment and am too busy to fit you in today..." This brought up immediate red flags. My thoughts...why would he go to such lengths to bash a fellow employee? Why would he dismiss her ability and make her appear less than competent to a prospective customer, essentially damaging the company brand? While I should have concluded from his rant that future dealings with him would be poor, I foolishly worked with him to find a time that was convenient for him to come by and provide us with an estimate. We set a date and time, two weeks out, that worked for this terribly busy man and ended our call. Estimate day TWO finally arrives and he pulls into our driveway an hour early. Luckily I was home from work to greet him. When I introduced myself and told him that I thought our appointment time was later he said "...this is the time I had written down, do you want me to drive away and come back?" Of course I told him no, that we could conduct the estimate now. We went to the location and things got worse from there. I could recount the entire exchange but honestly, it would serve nothing more than to be an amusing anecdote of how NOT to perform an estimate. He of course relentlessly bashed all other companies I had contacted...The short of it is this....he would not allow me to communicate an entire thought before interrupting me. He would not listen to what I had to say and had the audacity to tell me things were beyond my budget when we had NEVER SPOKEN OF BUDGET in the first place. By this point I had truly had enough, I ended our conversation quickly with no request for follow-up. His boasting of the success of his business and complaining that there were too many people asking for estimates to the point of exhausting and annoying him was completely tasteless. Who conducts business like this!?!?!? He even complained about a few customers!! Best of luck to him. I hope the people that work for him are well compensated because with his attitude it is likely business will begin to decline. I will surely convey what happened with any friend that asks. If you are considering doing business with AAA pools, I strongly urge you to reconsider - and no, the irony of a common nicknames for his given name is not lost on me...he truly should go by that nickname...it suits him entirely. read more

I have a pool that I inherited with our house. Everything worked fine for a couple summers, but this summer our salt generator broke. I looked for authorized dealers, and AAA was one of them. I called them, they told me they'd call back. Waited three days, then I called them again, the lady was very apologetic, said she would text the electrician and get back with me concerning a time. She promised I would hear from her soon. It has now been 5 days with no phone call. I need to write the Hayward company and let them know their "authorized dealers" do not return phone calls. I know it's pool season and they are busy which is what the lady explained to me. But if you can't keep up with the demand, then you shouldn't be in business, so I will take my business to someone who is interested. read more

This has to be the worst pool and spa company in the country. My spa had a leak that I diagnosed myself. I called AAA and told them exactly what I needed and asked if they would bring the part with them on their initial visit to save time and money. They missed their initial appointment. Then, came back the next day while I wasn't home and wasn't informed of the visit. I found a bill on my door for $200. I started to fill my spa and called to pay the bill. When I talked to Lynn, the secretary, I told her they should have let me know they were coming and then I thanked her for fixing my spa. She then told me she didn't think it was actually fixed and that she would call me right back. She never called. It wasn't fixed. I called back the next day and found out that my bill was for their initial diagnosis and that they would need to research the part and order it and come back to install it. It was the same part I told them initially. They said they would call me back with the estimated total cost. Never called back. I called them again and was told that the person I dealt with, Lynn, would have to call me. I didn't hear from them until I received a letter in the mail threatening to send my bill to collections. read more

went to aaa pools because of the owner ended up buying a hot tub and paying cash for it, also purchased a side table. while purchasing the hot tub we told the lady we didnt have a space set up or a concrete pad for it. she told us no problem and called over an employee who spoke with us about doing a concrete pad since we intended on buying the hottub we said come over and quote us a price. he arrived and we agreed to do the work we paid him cash to install the pad for the hot tub. while we were still looking at the hot tub we explained that we did not have electric for the tub and we were told dont worry the tub runs on 110 ac voltage . use a extension cord. so we did, since 3-1-21 we have had no electic to the hot tub, we called aaa pools they sent out someone. seems that the gfi went bad because of using a extension cord, that we were told to use!!they told us that we need to get an electrician to install a gfi outlet out by the pad and run on it own circut, we contacted an electrian and had the work performed. aaa pools stated since we were told to use an extension cord that they would not charge us for the repair!! the tub is only 6 months old should be under warranty. now they come and finnally fixed the tub and now want a fee of 240.00 for the work!!!! we have been told differnt things from the start of this purchase as a consumer i really thought that there retail experience would be all we needed to do buisness with them. beware of the all the things you are told and check them out before purchasing from them. as i told them i see you in court 1st!!!! read more

Richard Shaver, owner of AAA Pools perfectly sited our pool on our property after studying the property and after spending many hours getting to know us to make our vision a reality. In addition to quality construction techniques, Richard backfills his pools with gravel which is the best technique for inground pool construction. Ours was a challenging location due to the gentle, but wide sloping bank above the pool. Richard's team routed all the downspouts on that side of our house to divert the water away from the pool. No one would have expected the rainfall experienced this year after the pool construction was completed (over 10 inches in one rain day). Richard returned and addressed this problem by having his team install a French drain to ensure the pool would be protected. Throughout this first season as new pool owners, Richard was always there to patiently answer our questions. He really cares about his customers. His team is polite, hard-working and extremely knowledgeable. We were unsure about needing deck pole lighting and even a pool light, but after having these features, are so thankful to have heeded Richard's recommendations. Our pool is stunning. We look forward to enjoying this luxury for years to come and are proud to be part of the AAA Pools' family. We highly recommend Richard Shaver and AAA Pools if you are considering a pool. Worst company I have ever dealt with. Once they get your money, it is over. This company has no interest in establishing a long term solid customer base. Three AAA Pools employees have apologized to me saying that finding new contracts to have pools built takes priority over anything else. A year later and I am still chasing them down to finish the job they started. The county inspector told me there are still things that were not inspected on this job. My driveway was trashed and not repaired as promised and now I cannot get a hold of anyone at the company. $60k is a lot of money to some of your customers AAA Pools. You should live up to your word. read more

NO coordination with customers!!! RUDE!! NO CALLS BACK!!! They show up they want. Including Sundays I had some guy I had never seen before walking around my backyard. They say they don't use subcontractors. But their electrician is a subcontractor. Completely ADD. They didn't permit any mechanics or electrical with the county. They installed mechanicals too close to house and the gas heater unit vents carbon monoxide right into the crawlspace under my master bedroom. We had to seal a crawl space vent up w a galvanized steel plate. They also didn't get the gas heater approved through the gas company. I had to pay the gas company to come out and relight my fireplace and fix the line they installed for the pool heater because they used oil line parts not approved gas line parts. The electrician used all aluminum wiring and housing. SHOULD BE COPPER!!!!! and outdoor rated galvanized steel housing. TO fix this I will have to dig up my patio re-plumb the pool and move the mechanics. Not a cheap proposition. Also the patio slopes towards the house and created a leak in my basement. They didn't even silicone it against the house. The also messed up the step depth when pouring the concrete. They should have fixed what they put out of code. They also never scaled the pool when closing. Never gave us instructions on how to operate pool mechanics. DO NOT USE THESE GUYS. IT WAS and STILL IS A NIGHTMARE. I pointed out all these problems as the pool was in progress. We were ignored. No HELP getting the pool permitted....we had to work w county inspectors on steps and other issues. NO FOLLOW THROUGH!!! The proposal was incomplete and poorly written, then they supplied the cheapest cover they possibly could. Not even a a safety cover.. no, that was another 1500. MONEY PIT! with these guys. And don't put on here Call us.. because clearly you can't handle your business. read more

As far as the finished product is concerned I would rate this as five stars. The time involved from contract signing until job completion is rated as two stars. five months is a bit excessive don't you think? Keeping the customer informed as to why so many delays, one star. Office staff knowledge of what is happening in the field, after inquiring about numerous delays, one star. Cost of product is very high in comparison to the lack of customer service provided. Materials used are rated, five stars. The job site installation work force does five star work, but the supervision of this mostly non-English speaking workforce is minimal. 3 stars. Marking of the site for sub-contractors, one star. Example: Fence installers wiped out the buried electrical conduit/wiring harness for the entire pool with hole auger and had to be completely rewired after waiting two weeks of delays originally to get the electrician to wire the pool the first time. In all fairness the electrician was outstanding and showed up after incident the same day and rewired the system the next day. First positive customer support, but had to come from the Sub communicating with AAA. Site work and landscaping. five stars. Sealing of pool deck, cover installation, and winterization. Five stars. The pool deck stamping, pool coping etc. went fine, but the mess left by the crew was unacceptable because they were pulled off the job to go seal another pool deck before they completed the job of clean up at hand. I had to call AAA after two weeks to get them to come and finish the clean up. I yelled and they sent the #3 guy in the business to come out and clean the mess left in the pool, pool deck on my new Trek deck One star. I had close to five weeks of delays in getting this install done, and in my opinion this would try the patience of Job. Ergo: my over all two star rating. read more
