I contacted Hirschberg because I had used them previously for a couple of small jobs. This time I…read moreneeded a toilet fill valve replaced, a hot water faucet repaired, and possible insertion of a bidet wand on one toilet. I had the fill valve purchased new from Home Depot as I thought it would save me money to have my own new part. I also had the bidet wand. As is typical for some companies today there was a charge to come out--not to be applied towards my bill. The young man came in to see what the work was and then out to the truck to call the office on pricing. I told him/showed him, the fill valve I had purchased. He told me they will not use customer provided parts. I asked him to ask the office again about this policy , he did, and nothing changed. His pricing for these 3 jobs was over $900. I told him I wanted parts and labor to be itemized. Answer was 'we don't do that', 'we have flat fee pricing'. Between the cost and their refusal to use the new part I bought, I told him to only handle the fill valve part of the job however I insisted on an invoice with parts and labor itemized. Again, they refused to do so. I called the office to speak to the service manager, and he again refused to comply with my request, again repeated the flat fee pricing. In the end I got no-where. I asked to see the box the new fill valve came in--no surprise--same company part as what I had purchased. Cost for the 11 minutes max it took him to replace the part? $373.12 to include the $79. arrival charge. Did not get an itemized bill. What are they hiding? Knowing cost of parts and cost of labor is a routine and reasonable request of a customer, and many companies automatically provide this information without being asked. Addendum: I had the other 2 parts of the initial job completed by another company for $265.00 and automatically received an itemized bill. Note that even combining the two companies charges, the total is not close to exceeding $900 which Hirschberg quoted when they job costed initially.

I discovered E&E several years ago for professional and honest chimney cleaning…read more They really won me over a couple of years ago after a bigger HVAC service company tried to have a sub contractor come and high pressure/mark up a job on my moms chimney and they came to the rescue. Turns out instead of thousands of dollars worth of high pressure work the service needed was minimal and the job was done professionally with transparency and pictures by E&E. I also appreciated the tech answering questions and spending time to educate me. I use these guys for my personal home chimney cleanings and recently used them for a township U&O inspection. They get busy so schedule in advance! Thanks guys! Appreciate you!

Let me start by saying that I have waited to write this review not only for seeing how well the…read moreinstall went, but the longevity of the work. I was NOT disappointed. The summer of 25 our AC unit completely failed after changing out various parts by myself over the years. I had 2 other companies come out and look at it, and both came back relatively close in price, but timeline for repair was totally unacceptable for my situation. With a pregnant wife, and temps hitting 90+ inside the house, a fan could only do so much. I reached out to Dilling, on a recommendation from a neighbor that had owned a HVAC company but sold to another vendor. Seemed a bit off, but when we called, and spoke with the lady on the phone, I completely understood why. Her ability to sense why I was calling on a 95* day was impeccable. They were out that same day, and I do believe that the man saw the desperation in my eyes as he panned over to my pregnant wife and placed his hand on my shoulder. He not only took interest in why i had continued to fix the old heap, but was more impressed that I genuinely had no clue what I was talking about, but kept it running. I called things by the wrong names, that I had made up and he sort-of knew what part i was talking about after some explaining of where and what it looked like. His diagnosis was the same as the other two companies. It is completely dead. Replace only. but then what happened next surprised me. the guy took a few phone calls, not from other jobs, but he put out a call to help find us some better pricing. were they wholesalers? Competitors? cousins who "find" things? couldnt tell you. but what i will say is that he not only got us a great deal for a FULL UNIT, upstairs and outside, he was able to get it done within a couple short days. When the install was happening, along side of all the techs, all the people who knew what they were doing, this guy was doing the install too. not just watching. Dennis was a hero for me that day, and I've only had to call them for minor questions, that were my own stupidity for not listening initially, which I heard from my wife first. I can' t say enough good things about this company. truly. they were there when we needed them most, they made real efforts to help us with price, and held their word with timelines, and had me up and chilly in 2 total days of work. outstanding. just outstanding. oh, and its now 7/2026. in the heatwave. and its still 71* inside. no issues to report with quality of units, price, timeline, customer service, or quality of work and install. 10/10.
