Issue persists, the battery has gone bad. It's under warranty, so AAA is supposed to replace it free of cost. Two technicians have come so far, one yesterday and another one day before yesterday. They said "yes battery is bad. It's under warranty. It will be replaced free of charge by AAA but unfortunately they are not carrying the required battery. So I will have to call AAA all over again, someone from AAA will bring the battery and replace" Wouldn't recommend buying battery from AAA, they are selling low quality batteries it seems. I went in, without an appointment, to get an International Driving Permit and some Euros for an upcoming trip. I worked with Tyler who was very friendly, knowledgeable, and professional. It took about 10 minutes for the IDP including having a new photo taken. I also wanted to get some Euros but they didn't have the amount I needed so I ordered them and I received a call the next day that they had come in. Complete garbage. Real ID goes into affect tomorrow, and I guess they 'didn't foresee' higher call volume for services. I'm trying to contact them about something TOTALLY DIFFERENT yet every button on their automated call things brings you NOWHERE. (Each one, even for car rescue services, makes you listen to a 5 MINUTE EXPLANATION about the real ID, which just pissed me off after hearing it on every option, despite being totally unrelated to drivers licenses). Had an appointment, brought the wrong documentation. Got an extension. Got the correct documentation that day, called the branches phone number, and asked if I could come in with the documentation. "Since you had an appointment earlier, you can come in today". Went back again. "No. You need to make another appointment ". -but I just called and you told me to come in. I went into the office to try to renew my driver's license but was unable to get it done. I presented the woman behind the counter my paperwork and she pointed out that I need something else which was ok and reviewed all the other papers and said they were okay. So after a ride home and returned with the proper paperwork only to get handed off to another woman who said that I did not have the right stuff, WTF. Two trips to the office and still no license! These women were LESS THAN HELPFULL! Go somewhere else. read more

I am very disappointed with AAA, I updated my membership service to AAA plus . And when I needed the service on the 25th of June because I had a flat tire I took three hours for them to get to me. I had called at 8:15pm and after telling me that they would arrive within an hour they kept delaying and eventually turned up at 11:15pm. To make worse after about ten minutes Christopher the driver told me that he couldn't change my tire. So I waited three hours for nothing and upgraded my membership for nothing because apparently a simple tire change is something AAA can't do now. I sincerely hope that the service improves so that I and other customers don't have to deal with these types of problems anymore. read more

I need to caveat that this is NOT my direct experience, but an experience I shared with a good friend. I'm extremely sensitive to "discriminatory" practices, perceived or real. This AAA, I have always noted to have wonderful people that are friendly and always oh so helpful. And yes, they are, for the most part, as is. BUT, come across their insurance program, and I was very unpleasantly surprised. Nice people, but not really "with the program" when a case does not meet the mainstream. And so the story goes: Guatemala-US citizen transfers from Guatemala to the US. Did I mention US CITIZEN? (Of US born parents working for the Federal Government stationed in Gatemala?). Buys house - cash, almost a year ago. We become great friends. Single mom raising older kids. As we become friends, we start talking about products and services - she was getting KILLED by car, home, health insurance. Relying on the goodness of others - taken TO THE CLEANERS. I actually recommended AAA. BIG MISTAKE. But BIG MISTAKE for AAA that they did not expect ME to show up with her during one of their meetings. 1. Home and car insurance: A mid 40's woman driving since 1980's, WITH AAA Out of South Florida, where most of her vacation and US Driving has happened over the past 20 years... 2. AAA asked her for all her binders, paperwork, etc. She scans, emails, sends for stuff from Guate. EMAILS to AAA. 3. AAA is not sure if they will accept the Guatemala DOT certification of her drivers license IN SPANISH (WHAT AAA NEW ENGLAND DOES NOT HAVE BILINGUAL PROFESSIONALS ON THEIR STAFF!!!! SAY IT ISN'T SO!) 4. She has a translation done to be notarized to verify that SHE IS NOT A NEW DRIVER, since AAA wanted to quote her a NEW DRIVER RATE. Clean record in the US and Guatemala BTW. 5. Back and forth with the Marlborough rep - very very nice guy, NOT very savvy. Painfully so. 6. We get there for notary, and Mr. Rep states HE DOESN'T HAVE ALL THE PAPERWORK SHE HAD EMAILED HIM. AND NEEDS TO RESEND. She is about to leave, and I said HECK NO. WE STAY until we figure this out. 7. I walk AAA rep, very SLOWLY through all the steps, while I have her go through her Iphone to find her emails to the guy... HE HAD THE STUFF JUST DIDN'T BOTHER TO FIND IT. AND I HAVE HER RESEND WHILE WE ARE SITTING THERE! 8. Out comes the wonderful manager, and when he realizes I am STRONGLY HINTING THEY BETTER NOT BE TAKING A NEW RESIDENT BECAUSE SHE IS A SINGLE MOM AND HISPANIC FOR A RIDE... He kindly steps in. 9. They didn't know if she actually NEEDED the AFFIDAVIT. THEY DIDNT KNOW IF SHE HAD TO HAVE THE CERTIFICATION TRANSLATED. BOTTOM LINE - THEY HAD NO CLUE. So I stayed and observed PAINFULLY the COMEDY OF ERRORS. Nice people - CLUELESS. You DONT want to know how bad the rate is for herself, a 22 year old and her 19 year old... BAD. A Rate NONE of us taxpayers would put up with. I have sent her to other companies, and PERSONALLY walked THEM through the situation. I am flabbergasted. AAA - IF YOU DON"T HAVE A CLUE - SAY SO. GET BACK TO THE CLIENT WHEN YOU SAY YOU WILL. And if you DONT KNOW SAY SO. I am SO sorry this happened, and I HOPE AAA has some sort of MULTICULTURAL BUSINESS PROGRAM" for their employees. Still couldn't get it done. Now I have to wait another two weeks to get in at the registry in Worcester. Waist of time. Find another location or just go to the registry in Worcester. I find AAA to be consistently unreliable, not customer friendly, overcomplicating technology and promising services that it is unable to deliver efficiently. First, try to maneuver on its website...horrendous.. i have very fast devices and even in strong signal areas it takes too long to get through...by the way this is not AAA in particular this is AAA period...since my cell phone has a NJ area code, despite the fact that I changed my club to the local new england club, the way AAA has it set up that the call no matter where you are calling on their 800 number...you get the office in the area code of your cell or landline...this is patently stupid....assign different 800 numbers to different clubs...finally after many many call transfers giving information over and over ....this again is patently stupid especially if you are stranded....so after about an hour and one half a truck came and tried to boost my battery....he could not...instead of jumping it from the truck he used their high power charger...he then put some kind of tester on the car and told me that it was the alternator....and it would have to be towed to the dealer....but I would have to wait and AAA would send a tow truck...the problem is you can't test an alternator without the motor running.....i was so disgusted i just asked him to have a tow sent.. By the way i tried to do this on phone app....didn't work Because the app didn't work....tow truck guy came real nice fella...tried again to use booster battery and didn't work..now the problem was how to get it on truck..have to have power to put car in neutral. He figured it out and we were able to get down to the dealer.....problem battery dead. It cost me $ 125 for the dealer to recharge battery which I could have done myself if the AAA guy didnt tell me that his diagnostic tool read that the alternator was bad........can't make this shit up....... read more

Went to the Marlborough, MA AAA location on August 29, 2018 at noon. One person was already being waited on at the counter and there were NO other customers waiting. Stood by the red "wait here" sign and a man behind said to stand by the other sign 4 feet away since I wanted a license renewal. There is nothing posted indicating there are separate lines for different services. The "lady" helping the only person in front me was discussing school starting and the weather with the customer. Then she said the customer had to go with her to the computer at the next station - which was right beside them. So I stepped up to the counter to sign my form and she pointed her finger and said in an authoritative manner - Maam you can't stand there - step back to the red sign! Really?!!!! Again, NO other customers were waiting. She shouldn't treat anyone like this - AAA member or not. AAA is a service - an association that should be there to help their customers. We are the reason she has a job! This location and especially this person I mentioned are not good representatives of AAA!!! read more

I visited the Marlborough AAA today. We had gone in to Transfer a registration on a car and update the insurance. We were first met by The Manager. She was rude. She is the most unhelpful person in the place. I then was sent to see the insurance agent. She was the best. Positive and pleasant and so helpful. Then there was the woman who does the DMV part of things. She asked the person I was with for his AAA card. He was the one registering the car. He gave his card to her. She then asked for mine. I have one but I said I was not on the car so I did not take it out. She was furious to say the least. I did not OBEY HER COMMAND. So when he was called back up she told me to sit down in the window sill as if I was a student in her 4th grade class { I am 50}. The person I was with has Autism and sometimes needs assistance with things. She did not ask she did not care. SHE WON.... PERIOD... That's all she wanted. So if you want to be treated better I suggest using the Framingham branch at the Walgreens plaza. They are very user friendly and they don't BITE and may know that it's not okay to treat people with such disrespect. read more

I went to the AAA in Marlborough to renew my license recently on a Tuesday morning. There was no line. I was greeted immediately. Customer service was wonderful. I was in and out in about 10 minutes. Sure beats going to the Registry and waiting. I would definitely recommend going to a AAA facility to renew your license. read more

I have to disagree with the great service that another member claims. I sent my son to the Marlboro ma location to pick up a map. I gave him my gold membership card which I have been a member since 1997. They asked him for his license and subsequently refused to give him a map,because he was not me. I am one for policy and procedure and abiding by the rules. I could not get out of work before they closed,so I sent him. I figured it's only a map not a national security document. I had such a great experience. I went in to exchange US dollars for Euros in preparation for my trip to Italy. The person behind the desk when I made the request and they next day when I picked it up couldn't have been nicer! Asking about where I was going, if I needed any assistance from them. I had been in a few months ago to pick up a book about Italy. When I was there they told me they do currency exchanges without a fee. I would like to start by saying I have been a AAA member for 15 years now. I have always appreciated their work and had good luck with AAA assistance. However this season I have never been more disappointed. I have been hearing numerous stories from close friends how AAA will not assist them because AAA is "too busy" when my friends are working as emergency personnel. A week or so ago I called AAA to jump my battery. The man who arrived was very nice, he jumped the battery and when I asked him to test it to make sure the battery was okay he said he could not test it that was another truck. I had already waited over an hour and AAA did not tell me I would need two separate trucks for this service. Last night my car completely died and I do need a new battery and AAA advised me they could not send anyone out to service me because they are too backed up. I completely understand it is exceptionally busy right now however the winter did not just start and the weather has been exceptionally bad all season so why has AAA not worked to get more personnel helping with assisting their paying customers? You can not have for example 100 paying customers and only be able to help only a percentage of them during a time of need. I was very frustrated last night however the woman on the phone told me to call back at 8:30 in the morning and I would be put on the list for someone to come out and help me that day. I called 11 times and every single time I get an automated message saying I am being transferred to the service provider nearest me and then I get a busy signal and it hangs up on me! To not even be able to speak to a representative infuriates me. If I were stranded on a highway or in a spot of danger the service I pay money to, to be able to help me will not even provide me with someone to speak to!!! I have never been this angry with AAA before and going forward I will never recommend them to friends or family again. read more
