I am a Premier Member of AAA. Overall the service is fine. However, it is virtually impossible to contact the local La Quinta, CA office by phone. Notary service is available on a "first come, first serve" basis according to the voice mail message. Unfortunately this is not the case due to C-19 so I have to travel to the office, wait in line only to be told I need an appointment for notary service. So I then have to make an appointment, for the next day or two, return home and then go back for the appointment. This is not good service. Either update the voice mail recording and make a phone number available for appointment purposes or go back to first come, first serve. I am hoping AAA management reads these reviews so they can improve. read more

Absolutely horrible service. I called AAA to pick up my truck from an impound lot. My truck had been towed there that morning by the city because it was found abandoned after being stolen. My boss let me leave work so I could go to my truck because AAA said I had to be there when they picked it up. They told me it would be up to 60 minutes. One hour came and went so I called again. They said that the original tow truck driver had to cancel and no one ever put my call back in for another driver so I was basically waiting out in the sun with my truck for over an hour for nothing. They told me they were escalating my call now and I could be be waiting another hour. All told it took almost three hours for my truck to be towed. I guess I should have told them that I was not safe so they would actually send someone in a timely manner. read more

Joined Dec.22/2018. Needed a tow truck. Came 1/2 hour after I was told time it would come. I was able to get car started on own. Offered Car Insurance. Quote was lowest of all Companies, but when I insisted on seeing policy before paying. I discovered it didn't include, Car rental, Property damage, or bodily injury. Adding those increased policy to highest of those quoting. So I Cancelled on Jan 8th,2019. Paid $70.00+ Told I would only get back $45.83. Called AAA's head of Customer Service and he stated that there's a $20..00 non refundable payment. But since I never got the service that I was promised. He'd see if he could get the full amount refunded. 5 days later finally got a refund for $41.00. I have written proof of the guaranteed $45.83. Been trying ever since to get my money back. No one returns my calls. read more

I've called the office and got transferred, still no answer. I even went down there again and left a hand written note in her office. STILL NO CALL BACK. My trip is on Monday and i have no transportation from the airport to the hotel, looks like ill have to find my own way around when i get there so unprofessional, this is my first trip ever and i paid ALOT of money to have everything go smoothly. I unfortunately had the opportunity to use my AAA Premium Road service policy. The tow truck came within minutes and AAA made a reservation for me at the car rental agency. When turning in the car the following day I discovered that the one day rental was paid by my AAA policy. It doesn't get any better than that. Still, In addition AAA has this convoluted policy when it comes to insuring a driver. One I will never understand. In order to get NEAR the same premium I am paying for my Geico auto policy I would have drive under 10,000 miles a year (like most Californians?),.I would have to insure my home with them (like everyone is a home owner?), and then it would be necessary to take a "DriveSharp and Mature Drivers courses. It obviously seems little to matter that you have no moving violations or chargeable accidents. Oh well, life is strange. read more

Note: This review is solely based on the actions of the cashier, an older woman with glasses and shoulder length hair, who was working on Friday, June 20th, 2014 between 4pm-5pm. There is usually a different cashier there that is a wonderful lady who helps me everytime, unfortunately wasn't there. I've visited this branch many times and have always experienced great service, but this time around I wasn't so pleased with the cashier. I visited the branch to take care of some insurance matters and the older lady who was assisting me at the cashier is someone left to be desired in this industry or any other industry for that matter. There was a patron in front of me who was there before me, an older lady. The cashier was beyond rude to her. She treated the lady as if she didn't know the difference between blue and yellow and spoke to her in a such a condescending tone that reminded me as if it was a kindergartener that she was speaking to. When it was my turn in the queue, I was not greeted. I had to greet her. It was then that I finally saw some sort of emotion other than bitchiness by the appearance of a forced smile on her face. I gave her what needed to be taken care of and upon investigation I was missing some things and therefore would not be able to complete the transaction that day. She could have handled things so much better than she did, but this is the way that she chose to handle it. She told me in the most condescending and obnoxious tone, that she could not accept this because it was incomplete. After rolling her eyes and giving me a look as if I was stupid, she shook her head, gave me back my stuff, and proceeded to help the next patron. To the AAA cashier lady, because I look young does not mean that I am any less of a person than you, and I deserve just as much respect if not more than you. I was not rude to you, I greeted you with a smile, thinking maybe you just had a bad day, but please realize that you're not entitled to anything. I could have came up there and acted like a complete douche. Respect is earned, not given. Please do everyone a favor and get rid of your nasty attitude and then just maybe, you'll have people respect you. I don't care that you're older and I don't care that I'm younger. I'm not going to respect you because you are older than I am. I only respect those who deserve to be respected and those who respect me. read more

I was pleasantly shocked by how much I liked this location of AAA. I always find Triple A to have very friendly people working for them but this was probably the friendliest of the bunch, and that's saying something! My mom moved back to California after almost three years of living in Florida. Her first course of action was getting her Auto Club back. The agent that helped us out was Joseph Aliabouni. He was very friendly, efficient, and intelligent. He broke everything down very well and after just going there to get normal benefits (in cease something goes wrong while we're driving), we're now both contemplating switching over to their insurance. After he helped us out, he sent us out to Megan Genera, so we could get my mom's CA tags and she was also super friendly and helpful. Really great staff at this location. From this point forward, I will try to make sure I conduct all my Automobile Club business at this location. Also, it didn't hurt that joseph was good looking. If he sees this, i hope he can take a compliment =). read more

We have been a member of AAA, SCAA for over 48 years; we have home and auto insurance with SCAA along with an Auto and Plus RV roadside assistance plan. On a recent RV road trip, we experienced a double (dually rear wheels) tire blowout on the passenger side rear. It was Sunday, June 4th around 6 pm in the evening and we were traveling west on Interstate 84, 7 miles from Baker City Oregon. We were stranded on the side of the Interstate with 2 blown-out tires, my wife called AAA roadside assistance, information was exchanged and the Dispatch person stated she would be calling us back within 15 minutes. 30 minutes later and still no callback, my wife called again, a different Dispatch person stated he had no record of the previous call information was exchanged, once again we were told to expect a call back it came 30 minutes later. The news was not good; the dispatcher told us the earliest a tow truck or tire service vehicle could help us was between 6 am and 8 am Monday morning, a 12 to 14-hour wait on the side of a busy interstate. Plus we were told if a tow truck responded we would have to find our own way to travel to the repair location as it was against insurance rules for us to ride in the tow vehicle, we had two young children with us. "Really this is the best you can do," I asked, I was told it was and would I like to book it. Luckily for us, there was good cell phone service, and my wife located a Tire store in Baker City, Les Schwab Tires. My wife called their number and her call went directly to the tire technician Derek who was on call at home as the store was now closed. Derek asked for details on the size of the tires needed and for our location on the interstate. He told us we were less than 15 minutes from his shop but he had to go to the shop open it up get the tires and pick up the tire service truck so he would be with us in about 40 minutes. True to his word Derek came to our rescue and set about replacing the two tires on the rear of the RV, we were back on our way around 10 pm. I gave Derek and the Baker City Les Schwab Tire Store a 5-star rating on Yelp and written glowing praise of their response and excellent service. AAA was dismal to say the very least. When I called the AAA dispatcher to cancel our 'booked' 6am Roadside assistance I asked why they were not able to contact a Tire service shop in Baker City as we did and was rudely told "have a nice evening". Very disappointed with AAA Roadside assistance. read more

Surly AAA offers great benefits and has indeed been a part of my family's life for long now. However, I'm very heartbroken and upset with the way my husband was treated by the leaders of this discriminatory entity. You see, my husbands has been happily towing for AAA for a year now and is jubilant in doing so. He takes pride in providing services to the AAA members. He is great at what he does and enjoys helping everyone he can. But because of one stupid mistake that he made in the past, AAA has decided to discriminate based on his background, therefore decided to terminate him. Despite the fact that AAA claims to be a Equal Employment Employer. When the pandemic first started pellet we're being laid off everywhere, and were handed thousands through EDD and government. So no one wanted to go back to work. This crisis was very real and is up until this day. AAA decided to use him through the times that no one wanted to work because free money was at high demands. Why not stay home and get free cash right? Well my husband decided to work instead. Help people, in a dangerous, in middle of the freeway, out at 3 or 4 in the morning. Now that everyone is headed back for work because benefits have depleted, now they decide to say... we don't need him, let him kick rocks. Poor of my man, dedicated to his work, but used by these predators... a whole year and now they say bye. He even begged them, and they still said bye! I have been with the auto club for over 50 years. All my houses and all my vehicles. No serious claims. Last year they advised me they would not re insure my home in Big Bear. I had to find a new company. When my umbrella policy came due they told me they would not renew it because all my houses we not insured by them. That as their choice not mine. So I had to find a new company. Now they are saying my house in La Canada will not renew because of the fires. I am not even near the mountains and not at risk of wild fires. I tried to call someone in the corporate offices to discuss the situation. No one will call me back. I suggest you be very careful dealing with the auto club when it comes to insurance. The roadside service and is amazing and well managed. Can't say that a bout the current insurance division. 0 stars if possible. Would give them more stars if management had the guts to even talk to me instead of hiding behind the regular phone staff and blaming the underwriters for all the problems. read more

My mom and my boyfriend went to this location yesterday and my boyfriend shared a very upsetting story about their experience. They were waiting in line outside waiting for it to be their turn to be helped. There was a couple that was in front of them that went in but when it came to my mom and boyfriend being next they were told that only one person was allowed in at a time. When my boyfriend let the "greeter or line handler" know they were together and that she is elderly and would prefer she not wait out in the heat he was told the same response of only one person is allowed at a time. When my boyfriend brought up that the couple in front of them were both let inside with no problem and expressed he didn't understand why there was an issue with him and my mom going inside together he was told the same thing repeatedly and rudely. I understand polices and safety regulations are in place and respect that but what I do have a problem with is when there is no consistency all across the board. First off, there can be improvement in communicating to your customers before hand how the business is being operated instead of having them wait in line outside only to be told that only one person is allowed in when reaching the front of the line. Second and not to make this about race but it's discriminatory how you allow a white couple inside with no issues but yet when it comes to an elder latina and young latino male you're going to deny entrance to them when right in front of their eyes you just did the exact opposite of what you're suddenly trying to enforce. What BS! It's a shame my boyfriend didn't catch the name of the employee who was working the front but I will be contacting the agency and report this incident. She responds immediately to emails. She negotiated one better deal after another for our booking with extra perks. REMEMBER: never pay for entire fare on a cruise ( we just paid deposit). If better deals pop up and she finds them she cannot get lower fare if you paid it in full at the get go. SHE IS GREAT TRAVEL AGENT. ASK FOR HER! read more

The agent was very patient as I tried to read off the VIN which was so small and was a carbon copy. She waited for me to take a picture and send it to her email. She agreed the carbon copy was poor but she was able to propagate the VIN and we were in business. Such a nice person; it made the entire process on the phone bearable and pleasant. read more

In booking a Princess Cruise (6 months in advance of cruise date) I have been handed off to three - YES, 3 - different travel agents, had my on board credits taken away for a balcony upgrade I did not receive....tonight, I arrive a my 5-star hotel in Anchorage, Alaska, only to find out they are overbooked and we have to move to another hotel that is NOT a 5-star...so far, this has been a disaster. Our European River Cruise was fraught with annoying inconveniences like: paid for airline legroom upgrades/ended-up in cramped cabin, paid $$$ for ship room upgrade/got same room, three steps higher on-deck, paid for private airport shuttle which never arrived, etc. Once she received our $21,000 payment...she was completely unreachable. Recently I went to the AAA in La Quinta to renew vehicle registration. We have been members of AAA for more than 40 years. The first woman who helped me at the desk was pleasant and let me know my name would be called. After about 20 minutes, a lady (young girl) named Sheena called my name and I proceeded to her counter. She never smiled - didn't say, hello, how may I help you. She said what do you need today. I handed her the registration and let her know we needed to renew our tags. She didn't look up at me one time. I paid for it, and she handed me the paperwork (no thank you, have a nice day) - and said do you need anything else? As if I was interrupting her lunch break or something. I was extremely disappointed and have heard other members mention having her to assist them and they felt the same way. This young lady should not be at the front desk area helping your members - ever. She is rude and most definitely, NOT customer friendly. If I return to the La Quinta AAA, and she is helping me - I will politely ask for her manager. read more

For the past 11 years, my family has been a satisfied AAA member. Today however, they let us down. I called to get my car towed and discovered we had forgotten to renew our membership. No biggie, we called and paid our membership fees. After this, we called to start the towing process and discovered our membership only will get us 7 miles, rather than the 21 we'd need. Paying 9 dollars per mile seemed like a lot but we obliged. A few minutes after the call, we had realized paying for the next level of AAA, we'd be covered for 100 miles rather than just 7. Of course we called right back because the difference between membership levels was only 30 dollars and would have saved us 70 dollars instead of paying for the expensive mileage fees. Did any of the customer service representatives mention this? No. I was added onto my family's plan last year and because of this, they apparently downgraded our membership, which we had not asked them to do nor wanted. After 11 years, we'll be looking around for other services. read more

Worst company for customer service that I've encountered in a long time. Beware if you are looking to buy auto insurance here. You will encounter long waits to see an agent; excessive paperwork and necessity to return in person to sign forms; expensive little value membership requirements that renew automatically. Your name will be put on a mailing list providing you with numerous junk mailings asking you to sign up for life insurance and membership upgrades offering expensive low value services. Everything about this company is built to milk the most out of their customers. I thought my membership included free notary services. The only time I went in to take advantage of my membership "benefits". I was told that the standard membership required a stiff fee for notary and that I needed an expensive membership upgrade to get free notary services. The customer "waiting" area was well named as you will be required to wait for extended periods for the privilege of asking a question. I could right three or four more paragraphs but suffice it to say you should save yourself some trouble and give this shop a wide berth. You'll be glad you did. I was throughly impressed with the service I got from Kelli Kaiser in the La Quinta office. she spent a good 30 mins with me on the phone, gave lots of options and was extremely helpful. AAA's price are very competitive. I still think AAA need to improve their procedures to get an insurance quote. I shouldn't have to wait nearly an hour in their lobby, then not see agent. how about putting in a computer in the lobby, u swipe your card and you answer a few questions ahead of seeing an agent. in closing, the inbox for AAA's voice box shouldn't be full, so u cant leave a message. we are appreciative of Kelli's excellent service and personality. read more

I'm not a member of AAA, but I had such a memorable experience that involved a driver of a AAA roadside assistance truck. I don't know if they are dispatched from AAA or contracted with individual tow companies (I should have asked), but I thought I'd start here. It was a hot 115 degrees outside and my car had overheated. I've been on the side of the road for almost 20 minutes without shade. I was having symptoms of heat stroke and I wasn't sure how I was going to pick up my kids. I didn't know what to do when on my rear view mirror a truck pulls up behind me. Then I see AAA on the truck. A AAA angel named Joey came out. I cried ( sorry Joey ) from overwhelming appreciation. He asked me some questions and made sure I had water and coolant and offered to follow me to where I was picking up my kids. He was so great. When we got to the destination he explained what could be wrong. I felt. Because we were in the sun again, and since I had to drive without ac and windows down, heater on in the 115 degree weather, I started to feel faint again and had to leave in a hurry to the shade. So I hope I didn't seem ungrateful at the end when I hurried off because I'll never forget what you did. You retired my faith in humanity and reminded me that there are good people out there. He was so polite and so young, this guy is going places!! Unfortunately I broke down a few more times on the way home but another angel stopes named Abraham. With the help from both of these nice gentleman, and their advice, I was able to finally get home. read more
