This review is for their Roadside Assistance. As they keep telling me, I've been a member for 34 years. This year, I will drop them when my term expires. Perhaps it has something to do with their corporate name change that you may have missed. Did you know that you only get 4 service calls per year? I think I could pay for each one and get off cheaper. Anyway, I started having trouble with my battery this year. I had purchased it in June 2013 and it was warranted for six years. It failed for no apparent reason in March 2016 which if it had been replaced then it would have come under the 100% replacement up to three years guarantee. But no, they told me it was fine. A jump and I was on my way. Then I had a series of other calls beginning in August. I wanted the battery test each time, but they told me they would not/could not test the battery. I had three dead battery calls in three weeks in August and they kept telling me there was nothing wrong with the battery. One night stranded at the BART station at 8:30 pm I called for full battery service (to include testing the battery). Their dispatch did not say that was impossible, but when the giant flat bed tow truck arrived, the driver said there is no battery service after 8 pm. So he gave a jump and after I told him about the repeated dead battery calls he advised me that it was probably because I drove only short distances and should consider buying a charger. I spent $40 on a charger and proceeded to charge my battery from nearly dead to fully charged. When I got the written notice that I had only one service call left I started making calls to complain. I told them my battery was dead obviously and I wanted them to honor the warranty. They said they would not do that unless a battery test showed it was dead. Duh! That's what I've been asking for. I spent over an hour on the phone either on hold or with another department they transferred me to without asking. I had wanted to cancel, but they wouldn't let me. The very next day after charging my battery with my new charger it died. Finally, they tested the damn thing and said it was faulty and would not hold a charge. Duh! So I bought a new battery from them again, pro-rated down to $75 from the normal cost of about $100. On top of this their response time has gotten completely out of hand. When I called at 8:30 in the morning they told me the wait would be 1.5 hours. When I called at 8:30 in the evening they told me the wait would be one hour and so on. Always an excessive wait time. When they replaced the battery the automatic functions on the windows would not work. I called to make another complaint and they told me how to fix it by hand. The same thing happened with the sunroof, but the fix for the windows fixed that, too. After being transferred to four different departments, when I complained they agreed to credit me back one of the service calls. *** This review is for AAA Emergency Road Service **** Earlier this week, which was unusually cold in the Bay Area, CA, my SUV just died while in motion at about 30 miles per hour - on the Hayward, CA side of 92 nearing Jackson Street. After initial call to AAA emergency Road Service, I was sitting in my SUV for almost 2 hours with no ETA (or call or text) from AAA that someone would be dispatched to help with the situation. After about 2 hours, and upon calling AAA Service to find status, I was told it would take another 1.5 hours (or more) as they could not find a towing company to help with the situation. I have saved text messages to prove this!! Since the 2 hour mark, now anxiously calling every 10-15 minutes and being put on hold several times (once for more than 10 minutes that I disconnected) nearing the 3 hour mark, I was told that a towing service was on the way. I reached home roughly past 8:30 PM (as I recall). Going back almost 25+ years that I've been a member (of AAA Plus), I've never had to use their emergency service - and the one time I needed it most, I was left hanging for 3+ hours on a busy cross section (luckily, I was able to safely 'glide' my SUV due to the natural road down slope onto the shoulder). On the positive side, the individual from the towing service was courteous and efficient and I reached home safely! I sincerely hope that with AAA, no one else has to undergo the ordeal I've been through recently!! I also hope that the executive management at AAA read this, get to the bottom of what happened and then take appropriate action to ensure being more responsive while helping AAA members truly in need!!! I've received an email followup about a case being opened and a promise that someone will call me - but as of yet, no one from AAA has even bothered to reach out! read more

You pay these people a lump sum every year just in case you get in an accident they can cover you only after you pay your $1000 or $500 deductible so why would they ever get high stars?!!! For their customer service which is great and either way you have to pay someone insurance :) read more

Some big fat white guy decided that the register all his five vehicles and took up almost an hour of everybody's time in the meantime it was only another person Servicing the customers. Called for customer service to window shop and get a quote over the phone from this location and my sales representative was amazing. Nazalda was not only helpful, knowledgeable and polite, but asked questions about my life and slowed down just to get to know her customer. We laughed and connected sharing similar life experiences and when she gave me options and information about the different policies I could choose from, I felt like a friend was taking care of me and not just a sales rep. I still have yet to experience the location in person, but I am awaiting that day so I can fairly give this location it's fifth and well deserved star. read more

My wife sent me in today to pay for the registration at AAA DMV and i am unable to pick up the sticker to stick in on the plate. The registration is due on the Monday Dec 26th DMV Services refused to give me the sticker because the car is registered in her name and and not mine. DMV said they can mail it but we have had mail stolen in the past so my wife has to miss work just to come and pick it up. We are both on the insurance for this vehicle. We are both AAA members. This is one of the biggest reasons why i am about to drop AAA. Not satisfied after standing in a long line. What was the point of even coming? read more

The DMV department is a dream - really nice people and they know what they are doing. Never more than 10 people in line (the Hayward DMV has about 100...) and service is quick! I went in yesterday with what I thought was going to be a BIG hassle (re-registering a non-op vehicle from deceased parent to trust, then to heir) and I was done in 10 minutes! wife and I went to the aaa office to utilize the dmv facility. the person who attended us was able to change ownership, register and license a leased vehicle we just purchased. all of this was handled quickly, correctly and in a friendly manner. this saved us from having to visit our local dmv, which is a madhouse to visit. while at the aaa office we availed ourselves of the passport photo availability. all in all a very pleasant and beneficial experience. read more

So an update on our issue, a regional manager called me yesterday and was very apologetic about what had happened. He reviewed my case history and long time good standing with them and offered an acceptable peace offering as well as committing to fix the issue in the future for not only me but for others also in the future. With that being said and the fact that they addressed my concern fairly quickly I have updated this to a 4. Hopefully we wont be in the need for a tow anytime soon, but if so we can hope this was ans issue that will remain behind us. Thank you AAA for listening to my issue and addressing it. read more

I have a great Insurance Agent at this location her name is Natalia Benitez, very nice, accomodating and feel at home. I would pay my car insurance without any problem, however, for the 1st time to come to a Saturday hour and it says they're open until 2 PM, but not today (07/26/2014) and when I get there at 1 PM, the front door is locked and it seems no one's inside and the next two customers arrived and was surprised that it was closed. I have always had a great experience working with AAA until I called up the Hayward location. The travel agent that I worked with was absolutely unpleasant each time I called her. At first, I was patient, understanding that customer service can sometimes be trying BUT after several small conversations and no follow-ups or check-ins (as I expected with a travel agent), I had enough! I started a policy for auto insurance from Malalai in December, she was great, very helpfully, she told me what I should get and since I have a house, she told me that with my previous company I was being under insured, which my previous agent had not mentioned. She took her time, and was very friendly, I felt as though we've known each other for years. She was very easy to talk to, extremely friendly, and very easy going. I didn't feel that she was pushing me to pay more for what I might not need. To be fair...insurance companies r always a hit or a miss. If i could I 'd have given a 2.5 stars. This is just pertaining to AAA branch in Hayward. I do like AAA overall and I am still a member....but state farm is cheaper so i've been thinking of switching. (just thinking though) sorry i digress - 2.5 for the branch. I love AAA service. service people are EXCELLENTE! 5 stars for the little service window - super efficient and I am def happy that I was able to just set up, submit, pay, and dash with small services like changing vehicle titles. 3 stars for the branch - you walk in, it's depressing as....(i'd imagine hell be to a lot swankier than that place). It's pretty much a DMV without the long lines. No one says hi, no one says can i help you. If you all the sudden fall down and start spazzing and do the whole rose mary(?) thing from the exorcist...people would just walk over you and carry on... I understand that it's a insurance branch and not a hotel, but come on people...i want to buy something badly so just SELL me something. what really killed me is the agent. I spoke with Therese and she's pretty much what the previous lady posted about her (look at 2011 post and search for Therese in the yelp reviews). I don't want to say that she's rude, unprofessional, or incompetent, so i'll give her the benefit of the doubt and say that she can't handle any amount of stress and i mean ANY amount. It's like I am practically handing my business to you, so please skip the whole how long you've been with AAA thing and just help me get through it and out. Scheduling meetings with her is a nightmare. If you don't follow up with her, she won't follow up with you. When you do call her, she always sounds like a disgruntled girlfriend and you feel bad for intruding and pleading for her business. When she does get back to you on email, she'd give you all these ridiculous appointment times like 11am, 2pm, or "why don't you come in at 10am today." Yes. I have no job and i just loiter around my house all day waiting for an appointment with you. (I showed up once for an appointment time she gave me, she was 15 minutes late.) What really made me question her was when I asked her what would happen if I decided to move out of state. She said something like we don't offer insurance products for places like the Midwest so depending on where. m...really? because I went home, I googled and i even contact AAA just to make sure it covers the entire US and not just California. I don't know what to think of her like wt....16? years of experience...Of course, I took my business elsewhere. All in all, consider AAA if you are looking for insurance. the staff is super friendly and will answer any question you have for your car. DMV services are excellent, i had to transfer a car from my dad to me. gave me all the paper work i need. they even highlighted all the area, yellow for me and green for dad. For anyone who doesnt know. you DONT have to do a smog for a Family Transfer! wont waste your money if you are transfering within the family and also no sales tax, even if you brought the car from a family memeber!!! Very rude customer service. Called to find out if there was a AAA office near San Leandro and the lady hung up on me. I am absolutely done with AAA. The only regret of mine is that I have a very good agent with AAA' Fremont. She's the only reason why I stayed with AAA. We have been with AAA for 10 years. One day, I need help from AAA that was my first time need their help from them in 10 YEARS, but when I came to the office; it was Bad customer service. Not even listen what is my complain about already wanting send you back to the DMV and jump in conclusion.I told her why dont you check my information on computer before I go back to DMV?. Luckily, she listened to me. So, she checked, but she was yelling at me my complain is lien holder. I did not mention about lien holder at all. The only thing I explained to her I never receive my Pink slip from DMV. She kept yelling at me during checking my information, and made me so embarrassed. She kept yelling for few mins. I think She should check my information before telling me go back to my bank to get Lien holder signature. I dont know we should keep paying AAA for long time for deserving BAD CUSTOMER SERVICE like this ... BAD MANAGMENT. After I was done. I went out to look for a manager to complaint about this lady.
