They are honest, thorough, and fast. One time my gas gauge was acting up, so I went to Tuffy. They were going to charge me $800. Then I went to AAA Grandview. They told me that I just had to bang on the tank a few times, and BOOM! It was fixed. They didn't charge me a dime. I'll add that it is worth paying the $90 diagnostic fee once in awhile if your check engine light is on. They'll do a complete checkup on the whole car, and won't pressure you into spending a ton of money to fix it. I've been a customer now since 2007 and I'm very happy with the service. read more

Your parents told you to get AAA, and you should have listened. When you're in a pinch in your car, it really does pay to have your AAA membership current- and considering some of the horrible experiences I had in my wayward teenage years waiting for AAA in Rhode Island and Connecticut, the Central Ohio AAA services seem excellent indeed. Now I don't personally have AAA, since I don't have a car. But my two main sources of vehicular transportation- my girlfriend and my best friend- both have AAA, and thank God. The two most memorable experiences I've witnessed with AAA in this area are as follows: my fellow, Tom, was having a spot of trouble with his ignition. Particularly, his key wouldn't come out of it. In the middle of the night, in a back parking lot on campus, this is an unsettling turn of events- this was, after all, the same parking lot that my Blazer had been stolen out of just months before. So he called AAA and they sent out a weird, grunting, mumbling shambles of a man who, after chiding Tom for having his keys made at Lowe's (for shame, apparently!), was able to remove the key from the ignition like some sort of automobile King Arthur. The second scenario I witnessed was very recent; my girlfriend's car lost a tire to loose debris during the Great Windstorm of 2008, and a AAA technician was sent out to patch up the puncture. He couldn't- the damage was too great- but he was able to give her enough air to get her to a tire store, which worked well enough. So while I wasn't very impressed with AAA back in ol' Southern New England, I've seen nothing but great- if interesting- help come out in a timely fashion and do what they're supposed to- namely, help. If I ever have a car again you can bet your bottom dollar I'm getting AAA. Especially if I'm still in Central Ohio! read more

(They are frequently short staffed and will likely be unable to accommodate your requests in a timely manner.) FANTASTIC service. I've only been there once and the time was brief but boy do they have great customer service. I brought my 2006 Suzuki Forenza in for some major transmission issues. They took a look at it and under suspicion that the problem may still be covered under warranty, they called a local Suzuki dealer for me to look into it. Sure enough, it was! These guys went above and beyond and while I don't necessarily look forward to having a car issue again that I need to bring it in, I DO look forward to having a company I can trust and who will go out of their way for great customer service. I have been a AAA member for almost 20 years and figured i would give their auto care facility a shot. AAA sent me an e-mail with an oil change coupon for $30. i walked in to ask a few questions about transmission work with a brief description of the issues with my personal vehicle. the response i got was less than helpful. the person acted like i was bothering him. only said he would do a very basic flush and see what happens. i don't know if it was lack of knowledge on what to look for, or lack of effort to explain the service they would provide. he gave me a very sarcastic response about not being able to simulate my driving patterns. then proceeded to tell me that the next appointment for the oil change was 10 days out. needless to say, i will never trust my vehicle maintenance, nor spend money with a shop that was absolutely not helpful and flat out treated me like they were doing me a favor by allowing me to walking in their shop. read more

I have had service done to my vehicle here on a few separate occasions. They have never let my expectations down, and have always provided be a memorable customer experience. Kind, honest- this is by far the best experience I've ever had with a auto service. They estimated the repairs for my broken-down car to be around $500.00. It had stopped running with a quarter tank of gas, and they thought it was probably the fuel pump. However, when I went to pick it up, they explained that the pump was fine, it was the gauge that was broken. The easily could have charged me for much more service but my total bill was only $36.00. I took my car in for electrical work and paid extra because I thought a AAA garage would be able to fix it. Alas, I was on a business trip the next day and it broke down with the same problem. Not only this, the interior lights would not turn off. I managed to get the car back to garage and received a call the next day... AAA Car Care Plus said they fixed the problem and that the additional problems must have coincidentally started less than 24 hours after I picked the car up. The garage said they could not figure out why the interior lights and refused to take any responsibility or try to fix the problem. I expressed my concerns and was laughed at on the phone by employee Jim, which extrapolated an already frustrating problem. He was incredibly demeaning and did not take any of my concerns seriously and again refused to help. AVOID THIS GARAGE AT ALL COSTS. I took my car here recently, in need of a new starter. I was told that they were very backed up so it might be a day or two until they get to it. Not ideal, but not the end of the world. Then, they called later that day and gave me a quote, but still said they wouldn't get to it until the next day. I know nothing about cars, so I didn't really question the price and just replied... ok. As an ignorant 20-something, my next call was to my dad. He said the quote seemed high, so he called his body shop. A few minutes later, he relayed his body shop's quote, which was nearly HALF. So, I immediately called back to AAA. Their response: "we already took some stuff apart so we'd have to put it back together and charge you for the time and labor." When I explained that I was told it wouldn't be worked on until tomorrow, I was brushed off rather rudely. I decided to leave work early and go discuss it in person. Before I even got there, I received a call saying the new starter was installed and the car was ready to pick up. I decided to let it go, but the whole thing seemed very shady. I have brought my car here multiple times and every time they are fast, reasonably priced and extremely friendly. Steve is always personable and never gets frustrated when I ask him a ton of questions. I don't know a lot about cars so having a place that I trust to take my car to is very valuable. They never try to pressure me into buying anything extra or make me feel dumb for my lack of car knowledge. This place is a scam shop, the tow guy talks me into taking the car there because I'll get a 10% discount on repair. They charged me over 500$ to replace an alternator. 2 weeks later the serpentine belt is broken along with the tensioner. You have to take off the belt to replace the alternator, so either their incompetent and missed the belt was worn or they caused the damage. Then they wanted 300 to replace the a 16.99$ belt. I would never take another car here ever! read more

After getting a flat tire on the night before Thanksgiving I called AAA and they were unable to fix it on the spot timing wise so they plugged my tire and gave me a slip to take to the nearest AAA service center to patch the tire. So far so good. I called and made an appointment the day after Thanksgiving and he said 1pm the next day. I can in and he had no clue there was an appointment. I have my two year old son which is already difficult enough to plan things...not his issue but still adds to the situation. The man didn't have any emotion at all just said "well I wasnt here so I don't know about it" and "oh yeah I had a guy keeping me the other day maybe he talked to you but he didn't write it down"....I'm paraphrasing but that's the info he gave me... Well neither of those things are my problem and at least he could have been understanding he was very emotionless and i believe he may have said sorry once. I know people make mistakes but at least offer an apology or look into the situation or at least give an illusion that your are trying to help. Not satisfied today and I don't just go on yelp to bitch. read more
