It was overall a horrible experience. Here's the list of facts. I really want you to take a min to read this before making a decision. 1. Fake reviewers have 5-10 reviews spread over the nation (e.g. 1-2 reviews in las vegas, 1-2 reviews in Kansas, 1-2 reviews in new york, something like that) and I looked at 5-10 profiles and they have a lot of common businesses in their reviews. Please please look at reviews from Yelp and BBB. 2. The salesman (Steve) told me it'd be delivered in 4-7 business days. It actually took 21 business days (the maximum on the contract). When the driver arrived at my new location, he said "We delivered it in 21 business days! we kept the contract man". 3. You can never reach out to the salesman Steve again once you sign the contract. Instead, another person becomes the point of contact - Sam. 4. They have absolutely no idea when they can deliver your stuff. They consistently refused to tell me the ETA. 5. They charge 10% more for gas when they pick up your stuff which you wouldn't be told from Steve or Sam. It's even not mentioned in the contract. (please see attached photo) 6. They appear with a huge semi-truck. So unless your unit happens to be located in a very lucky spot, you'll be likely to have to pay extra for the shuttle (from $350) because that huge truck can't usually take turns in a small road in an apartment community. The driver will tell you whether or not he needs the shuttle only after he arrives and you have two choices - either you pay what he asks or you rent a truck, they move the stuff to your truck in a large parking lot (Walmart or somewhere) and they leave. If you choose the latter, you'll have to move your stuff to your house and assembly them yourself. 7. The driver is very rude and seems to be always ready to fight with you. 8. The driver lost my snow shovel and he said "it must be in the big truck, I'll grab it and come back in 15 mins". and he never showed up. Worst moving company I have ever dealt with. If you want last minute charges added, to have your stuff broken and lost - as in items just gone, disappeared - and want to be yelled at repeatedly on the phone by people that barely speak English then this is the moving company for you. This is a review of a company called AAA family movers. I have had the most horrifying experience with this people. Beware. THEY ARE SCAMMERS. They will take your stuff, have you sign a "contract" which is badly written and later, whenever they decide to show up with your stuff, weeks or months later, they will charge you extra for EVERYTHING!!! Elevators, steps, moving your stuff from truck to truck when that is not even your responsibility. I ended up paying $1700 extra for things they considered additional and they didn't care if I refused to pay for the extra stuff: they told me, plain and simple that they will dump my things in a storage facility of their choosing, go to litigation, and keep my things for months until things resolve. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!! READ THIS!!! On July 7, 2020 I contracted with AAA Family Move to move me from my home in Kansas to my new home in Georgia. I had accepted a job as the Fire Chief and hired this firm to move my items. On July 7, I paid a deposit of $1,500.00. The company picked up my items in Kansas on July 25th (suppose to be the 26th, showed up a day early.) I paid $1,751.25 upon pickup. I was required to pay with a money order. They claim they then stored them in their warehouse and everything was to be delivered in Georgia August 5th. They did not show up that day nor for several days thereafter. I made numerous calls and emails and did not hear from them. They were not answering or returning my calls or emails. I finally connected with them on August 5th and was told it could be up to 21 days before delivery; but maybe by the weekend of the 8th-9th they would have my stuff to me. They never mentioned anything else to me. (Keep reading....) Later that same day, on 8/5, I received a call and text from my new Fire Department secretary in Georgia indicating that a woman from Missouri had contacted her and was indicating she had pictures of some of my things (fire helmets, badges, etc...attached) all over the floor of a warehouse. AAA Family Movers did not tell me any of this when I had called. I connected with this woman who texted me several photos of many of my items sprawled out over the floor of her warehouse. I then attempted to get a hold of the moving company. I finally got a hold of them telling them I was contacted and shown pictures of my things that were stolen and they admitted they knew about it a few days earlier (but did not contact me at that time, or tell me when I called) and that there is a police report filed with PD, officer Rudy. They told me they think 90% of my stuff is still there and will go over to the warehouse and send me an inventory list (never received). For several days, I waited for the company to get back to me about what they were going to do about my items and where the balance of my items were. When I called the lady back the next day who contacted me from the warehouse, she indicated that someone had come back and took the majority of the items that were there but left a few behind. Again, I waited for the movers to contact me about the inventory they were collecting. After numerous texts, I finally got a hold of Sam Kosukhin (the individual whom I had been dealing with over the phone after the initial contract was signed with Steve Wright. I never did receive an inventory list of the items. On August 11th, the movers showed up with the balance of my items. Approximately 60% of the stuff that was loaded onto the truck never made it to my home. Many of the items I did receive were damaged. Many of the boxes I had packed had been obviously opened and repacked with items from other boxes. Thieves do not do this, they just take what they want. A lot of my furniture came up missing along with 19 boxes (as indicated by the company). I noted the police report number on the document they made me sign indicating what I had received and was forced to pay the balance of the contracted amount ($1,886.25) in cash to receive those items. I was told to file a claim with the company and Sam sent me the filing information. As indicated above, Sam indicated that they would take care of this and he felt horrible about it. I took a number of days to compile the list of items I had lost. It was a significant undertaking trying to remember what I had packed compared to what was received. Many items were of a personal nature and could not be replaced - badges from my entire fire service, fire helmets I had collected over the years, and personal photos of my children. I filled out the information and returned it as requested. I then was contacted by CSI - the third-party insurance broker - who indicated they would manage my claim. After completing the arduous task of filing the claim (identifying item by item it's value and how long I had it - leading to hundreds of lines of claim) along with providing information on the police report provided by the moving company, I submitted Claim ID X on October 22, 2020. On January 4, 2021 I received notification from CSI that my claim had been denied indicated that I did not acknowledge that any of my items were missing or stolen on the documents I signed when the items were delivered. I put the police report number on the documents they provided when I received the items. In addition, they indicated on these forms the items that were not delivered. I immediately filed an appeal with CSI who claims they now have up to 45 days to review my dispute. The total value of items lost in my move was over $39k. The contracted amount for the move was $5,132.50. The contract indicates that they valued the items at $0.60 per pound as I apparently waived my right to full replacement. I told the estimator the date I needed my items - he said it wouldn't be a problem. The moving foreman stated that my required date wouldn't be a problem, but just in case there was a unforeseen issue, they put on the contract delivery date + 7 -10 days business days. When I got to my destination, I called for the eta. I was told it was still in a loading dock back in Kansas City, waiting for a full truck load - and they didn't have an eta. I had to sit in my apartment and start a new job without clothes, bedding, pots and pans etc. I was told if I wanted a specific date, that I would have to pay him $800 more. I finally received my items 10 days later. Fortunately I brought a blanket and a pillow with me. I have moved across the country 6 times - all moving companies give you a specified date and then deliver. The driver would only take cash at delivery. Ok let me start by saying that the guy I booked with was great. Very professional. Dispatch is where it all started going wrong. I booked for pickup on a Tuesday. Didn't t show didn't call. I called to be told oops...... talked to the owner he was very rude. The guys finally showed up at 6 pm on Wednesday.The guys who showed up to load were great, they carefully wrapped my furniture. Fast forward 18 days and my stuff finally made it to me. All was intact. Guys made me hand over the final cashiers check before they would even begin to unload my stuff. That all went great. Recently had to help my girlfriends mom move from Olathe Ks to Overland Park. When it comes to moving I can move all of the little stuff in her mini van so there was only help needed for the furniture. I shopped last minute because I wasn't expecting to be doing this and I found AAA family move available and priced reasonably to move the furniture of a 1 bedroom apartment. We had AAA estimate our move. It was a very good price, about $3000 less than the competition. On moving day, they showed up with a truck that was not anywhere near big enough. Then, after the truck was loaded, they hit us with a bill that was two and a half times what the estimate was. They had us well and truly over a barrel. We would never have gone with them had we known their estimating prowess was so deplorable. The worst of it was we would have gone with their competitor, who took the time to go through our house an give us a binding estimate, with a cap. Don't trust their estimates! read more

Facts: 1. They arrived promptly 2. They hired 2 local helpers from Craig's List to assist the driver. 3. Many of the brand new boxes were crunched (either on truck or in their storage. 4. Even the Craig's List helper commented on how poorly things were packed. 5. Many items in the boxes broken. 6. Approximately 6 boxes unaccounted for 7. Reply to #6 from Anthony: "It is a mystery" 8. If considering using AAA Family Move, make sure you understand their business model: bid low, then aggressively add last minute extra charges the day of move, expecting you to pay up under the stress and time pressure of moving day. We booked them partially due to their competitive price, but mostly because they promised a quick transit time - 2 days compared to as much as 13 days from the competition. We expected to pay additional fees for several added items not on the inventory. What we did not expect: On the day of the move, part of the crew began immediately loading the truck while one man did an inventory and began reviewing with us a list of extra charges (MOST OF WHICH WAS PREPARED BEFORE THEY ARRIVED, BUT NOT SHARED WITH US PRIOR TO ARRIVAL.) Extra charges ranged from $75 each to wrap large items (mattresses, chairs, couches, etc) for protection (contrary to the contract, which listed this as included), to added charges for items they claimed were oversized or fragile. The inventory listed 85 boxes. They counted the smallest boxes first (some no bigger then a toaster); once reaching 85 boxes, additional (largest) boxes would cost $100 each or more. We asked them: is this typical? The response: most people just go along with the extra charges. We didn't - cancelling the move and contract. The company did live up to their promise of a full refund. We were just stuck with finding a last-minute alternative. While doing research on moving companies, I was concerned to find a AAA Family Move positive review that was actually written by the owner (without noting his relationship with the company). This company is not who you want! Choose anyone else! They stole my sons PS4 out of one of my dressers, broke several large items, ripped up our grill cover, destroyed our dining room table and a few other large pieces and we are now having to fight with them to give us the full value of our items back. The sales team seems wonderful, they will work with you as and answer as many questions as you have so that you feel comfortable with them. Then you find out that the sales team has no idea what is going on and they basically lie to you through out the entire process. Nothing is covered under the insurance and your items will more than likely arrive late! We had to wait an extra week for our belongings. We were told our belongings would be stored in the new city we moved to when in fact our belongings were taken to a Warehouse in Kansas. The only good thing I can say is that we actually got the free month of storage we were promised. We just moved from Reeds Spring, MO to Alabama, and we were pleasantly surprised. Archie and his crew arrived after a long day of packing another house and did a fantastic job of packing our house and all with great attitudes. We then drove to Alabama and a day after we arrived, we received a phone call that the truck would be there that afternoon. The two gentlemen did such a wonderful job unloading our house. I am still dealing with this company months after moving. I decided to use this company when I moved from Kansas City to Dallas because they seemed to have a lower price as well as a pretty fast delivery time. The one guy I talked to mainly, Steve, I believe was his name was always great and really sold me on the family part of the Family Move-- he made me feel like it really was a small family business and during my move I'd be like family too. Well, when I finally got the date scheduled to move, they showed up-- a couple guys I had never talked to before, and suddenly the move cost nearly twice as much as what I was quoted even though I didn't have anything else extra compared to the inventory I filled out ahead of time. Then, after all my stuff was loaded on the truck they told me it would take up to 15 business days to get my stuff, when I was told it would be as soon as the next day or up to 5 days due to the distance. I had already packed all my clothes and other necessities, so I had no choice but to go ahead with the move and spend over $200 once I got to my new home simply because I didn't have any of my stuff. Once I got the call that my things were going to be here, they gave me a couple hours window of when they would arrive, but they didn't even show up until HOURS later after I called to ask where they were. Once I had all my stuff (or so I thought) I noticed quite a few things were damaged, and I'm still missing some items. I reached out to the company multiple times asking how they want to resolve this, especially after they called to ask how my moving experience was, but no one ever contacted me. From Day one Steve spoke to me provided me attractive price, one day before loading the stuff, he said need to pay $500 as the cubic feet is more some how negotiated for $300, Packers Nathan and team really packed well. After this was following up with Sam who helped in getting delivery date this got delayed by a week, still this was fine. One day before delivery truck driver called me and said vehicle is 16 wheeler cannot get in your place, i need to pick my stuff from location and take it or he would charge $350 for delivering. This went on discussion Sam tried to help could not do anything, they were saying it is in agreement. Finally next morning Antony who confirmed owner of the company become angry at 4:30 am saying if you want to get the stuff pay $350 or come and pick it. Finally i had to pay $350 and get my stuff for very little stuff, they brought this stuff in small U-Haul and Driver was not ready to unload the stuff until i made the complete payment, Also my Mirror and sofa had damages, got two boxes of other customer. I would not hire again. I was charged $600 over the original quote, they will nickle & dime you for everything. Communication and coordination was a nightmare. I had several items arrive damaged after being poorly packaged (glass lamp thrown in a box with a blanket over it) and a couple smaller items that never arrived at all. They asked me if there were any items that required extra caution to which I pointed out an antique bookcase. The item arrived damaged anyway after it had been wrapped in a single blanket with duct tape. When I contacted them about the damaged and missing items they simply stopped responding to my emails and phone calls. DO NOT HIRE THIS COMPANY! Every step of our move has been a complete disaster. Their lack of integrity is astounding, and we are still waiting for our stuff. Our first issue was that after we signed for the amount of the move, they changed the amount without our consent. Then we learned that one of the trucks carrying our stuff crashed and rolled, breaking many of the items inside. We haven't gone through the claims process yet but it sounds extensive and I'm not looking forward to it. Our last issue is that after being reassured of a quick delivery time, due to the locations of the company's hubs, the estimated date of delivery has been pushed back time after time. When trying to gain our business, we were assured that our things would arrive on the first delivery date, a few days later at the latest. Then it was a week after the first delivery date. I was last told that it will be at least another week (so two weeks after the earliest delivery date) at best because of issues that another one of the companies trucks is having. It's looking more and more like the company will take the full 21 days that is in the contract to deliver. This company's motto should be "Over-promise, Under-deliver". To make matters worse, every time I speak to Anthony, the man in charge of our move, he is derogatory and condescending. He asks as though I'm being unreasonable for being upset about our experience. This company left me with a lot of hard lessons learned. They were initially very good about soliciting my business, friendly, professional, and responsive. Steve called several times to follow-up with me in order to encourage me to consider their company. Everything went downhill after they picked up my stuff. I strongly advise anyone to avoid this company. They are very unprofessional and do not disclose all business practices upfront. They verbally promised to delivery on time (2-4 days) at most within a 10 days, but came 21 days late. I kept calling to ask for a status and kept getting responses like "the truck broke, flat tire, another flat tire... ) It is very suspicious how many trucks with flat tires this company has. They collected 70% payment upfront. When the truck finally came, despite not agreeing to storage terms and conditions, the movers refused to allow me to even INSPECT my delivery for damages, mold, or insect infestation of furniture. I think this was completely unreasonable and unprofessional. They insisted on payment upfront BLIND. Would not even open the truck to allow me to make sure all the boxes were in the truck! They hold your items hostage and will not allow you to inspect until they get the last payment. No other service industry operates this way, 100% to the disadvantage of the customer. Their contract has many sneaky terms and conditions in the contract that they glaze over when they have you sign it. Be VERY very careful about the false promises Steve gives over the phone. When it is time to meet the delivery deadline, there is no reasonable or fair business practices here. After several hours, of debate they finally allowed an inspection. They initially charged extra for products they packed, some of which arrived damaged (no deduction in original cost for move or real insurance to speak of). They ripped furniture, and also did not deliver all items. It is unclear how they store the furniture and items while it sits in a warehouse waiting for delivery. Worst moving company ever! Had I known how our belongings would be treated I would have paid double through another company. It was to be a two day pack job and they turned it into one. They had the same people there packing from 9 am to 2 am - and they did not feed them where the crew asked us to buy them dinner because they were hungry and only brought one meal. AAA Family Move was the company hired by my moving broker. The initial cost was estimated at more than what other companies were telling me but they were happy to use a smaller truck to load my apartment since my complex wouldn't fit a full 53 foot semi. When the movers got to the apartment they were a crew of 3 that took 4 hours to load a 2 bed apartment (although only 1 bedroom was actually used). The next morning I left KC on a 13 hour drive to Colorado. I got a call from the owner of the company demanding that I pay half of the remainder. Um no, I paid half of the estimated amount when I booked the move two months prior and was told by the moving broker that I'd pay the remainder upon delivery once the load was weighed and I knew exactly how much it would be. He kept interrupting me and telling me that THEY had my stuff and not the other company. Sorry, my contract is with the broker. So here I was in the middle of Kansas in a panic while I called the broker to find out that I was indeed correct (especially since they picked up my things the day before). The window for delivery was 4/22-5/2. I was called by the broker on the 23th saying that a AAA Family Move agent called them and said they'd be dropping my things at my new home THAT DAY OR THE NEXT. So much for 24 hours notice. No big deal I could make that work. They never showed up. I called the evening of the 24th asking what was going on since they were MIA. After having to check on what was going on I got a call saying it would be delivered on Friday the 27th. Ok fine. The very next morning I got a call from a driver saying a truck was headed my way. I called my broker again to find out what was going on and she knew nothing about it other than it would be there Friday the 27th. She called the agent at AAA Family Move again to find out what was going on. Before she could call me back the owner called me to let me know that since I was so upset about the delivery dates (I wasn't, just don't tell me you're going to show up and then don't show) they were going to deliver it that day. They showed up but they failed to put together any of the items they took apart when they loaded the truck. When they loaded the truck I paid extra for them to pack my flat screen TV and several pictures. The pictures arrived fine but the TV did not. From the damage it looks like the box was dropped on its corner. The screen is shattered and it no longer works. There goes a HD TV with 3D because I didn't opt into buying the full replacement insurance for the extra 2 thousand dollars. I've submitted a claim but I'm told that they will only reimburse us $0.60 a pound for damaged items. I didn't pack the TV so how should I have to take $25 for a TV I still have to pay to have someone take away since throwing away TVs is now illegal. Not to mention the box they lost (the bookcase was labeled with the box tag apparently and I didn't notice it was missing until after sending in the claim and of course I had $200 worth of uniform shirts freshly printed in the missing box). Lessons learned. I would never suggest anyone use this company unless you like getting yelled at by angry Russians while you're trying to drive, having to set up your own furniture, and you enjoy expensive broken electronics. read more

I used this company for a move from Bartlesville Oklahoma to California. Like many other reviewers commented, their bid price was WAY OFF. The day they arrived they upped the price by about 30 percent. The owner insisted it was my problem because of an inaccurate inventory. Yet, anytime I asked to have items added to the inventory, the sales person assured me he had made enough allowances in what he entered into the program that estimates the cost, to cover me, unless "I was hiding some Golf Carts or something". Like another reviewer said. What are you going to do at the last minute when you need to be out of the house. The salesman also told me there was an extra charge if they needed to shuttle my items from the Semi to the new house in California. He looked through Google maps and said I would most likely need it. He said he could do that for me for $350. I asked him to physically list that in the contract on a separate line, since the verbiage in the contract specified something larger like $600. (I don't remember the exact amount now, but this is close) When the time came to get my furniture, the man driving the semi, called and asked if he needed to get a shuttle, or if he could get it into my housing division. When I discussed this with the owner, the owner told me if I needed a shuttle, it was very clear in the original contract that it would cost the higher price, no matter what the Salesman wrote up for me. When it was determined I would not need the shuttle the owner argued with me about returning that $350. He did finally return it. When I was talking to the salesman, originally, I asked about timing of delivery, since the contract said it would be between 2 and 20 days for the distance I was moving. He indicated that I would probably get the delivery within a week. When the owner talked to me later when activating the move, one of the first things he told me was "By Law" they had some extended time that was far beyond the 20 days. I told him I did not care what the laws were, I was going off of what he contracted to do for me. The owner was very rude and argued with me any time I talked with him. When delivery arrived about 20 days later, a friend helped me try to work off of the loaders inventory to ensure I got all of my belongings. This was virtually impossible, since there were boxes with no identification numbers and a number of boxes with duplicate numbers. So I could not prove that I knew a box was missing, though those items never arrived. The owner said they would cover that along with the damaged tool box with the missing wheel the could never find. He said he would send me email to authorize payment, like the refund of the $350 for a shuttle I did not use. However, he never sent it. He also tried to bribe me for a larger refund, if I would give him a good review on Yelp. After all of the hassles I went through and the extra $400 I gave them for an expedited delivery fee (even though they had my things for 20 days) I start to unpack and all of the totes I marked had different items in them and the tape over the totes had been untaped. My TV doesn't work, a tool bag is missing with 2 very expensive electric drills in them, and a leather duffle bag containing a laptop was also missing. I told the driver immediately about these 2 items and he said I had to discuss it with the moving company. Well, with their $.60 per pound insurance coverage that was explained to me as $.60 on the dollar not on the pound I have contacted an attorney. I did try to settle with them at $350 just to be done with them and they hung up on me...as usual. Don't trust these people. The low ball price is not what you end up paying. They charge you extra for the tape and moving blankets, not to mention shuttle truck charges at $350, extra for stairs even though they say they allow for one flight they do not, and anything and everything needs a "crate" or "extra packaging" or more room on the truck. THEY ARE CROOKS AND EVERYONE YOU DEAL WITH IS FROM A FOREIGN COUNTRY. Except for the movers who are also victimized by these shameful people. AAA Family Move is the absolute worst company I have ever dealt with. For starters they are brokers. They lied to me when I asked them that. They raised my bid $400 because I needed it here a week from pick up. Here I am 20 days later still waiting. I have lost wages because they have all of my belongings. They admitted that the people who picked up my things were inexperienced and have been fired. They left half of the things behind that were listed to take. So I had to leave them costing me more money. I just spoke to the contractor who is supposed to deliver my things tomorrow and he is expecting a shuttle fee for $350 and expect me to pay them to carry my things up the stairs for an extra fee. I was specific about there being stairs. I plan to have the police here because I feel like they will try to keep my things if I don't pay them. I have been lied to, hung up on and taken advantage by these monsters. I am 1200 miles away from home all by myself and they don't understand why I might be upset and I get hung up on when I call. Run don't walk away from these people because they are the shadiest around. read more
