Super easy, super cheap, very friendly, and very fast. I sat on the bench and chilled while the tech handled everything.

I never got around to getting to the smog place. I called the guy on the phone and he didn't answer at first. I called again and I think I was hung up on. A third call sent me to voicemail. 4th call I got ahold of him and asked if I could bring my car in today. He told me to come in tomorrow. I asked what was wrong with today and he hung up on me. I called him back and asked if he could hear me (I think there might have been a connection issue) and he said "oh fuck off will you?" Ok no problem. read more

I went to another smog station who could not find a "charcoal canister" under my Mazda CX9 and therefore would not pass my car. I found Mohammad at AA+ Smog who immediately knew where to look; and I was back on the road in 15 minutes with a Pass certificate. Mohammad is very knowledgeable and friendly. Don't bother going anywhere else to save a few dollars..it's not worth it. read more

Went back again to update my smog certification. Mohammad is the best. No nonsense, no wait, fair price. I'm not sure who is writing poor reviews, but they couldn't be more inaccurate. I wouldn't take my cars anyplace else. Really a great service! read more

The best place to get your smog check done in the peninsula. Was back here again today and got done within 20 mins. I have been coming here for many years. Discovered this place while living in Burlingame. I have since moved, but still drive out to AA Smog for smog check on my Saab. Quick, friendly and efficient service. Will be back next time the DMV wants me to get a smog check done. read more

I tried to get a Star smog check for my old Boxster in SF, and could not find someone who would do it. No one was willing to remove the cover to the engine. My service advisor at Burlingame Porsche recommended this shop. Mohammed took me right away, and job was done quickly. Thanks Mohammad! read more

Smog check is a delima, sometimes a nightmare. The Owner of this station, Moe provided me excellent service, low price, efficient, honest and professional. I would give him 10 star for what I experienced. While I was there I found out that he doesn't appreciate any rude, forceful and unreasonable customer. He is man of great character, educated, responsible with good sense of humor. He is an older gentleman, mid 50's, single and is looking -:)) read more

DO NOT go this shop, he told me that my car was fail the test, and charge $10.00 more because required STAR test?? he can not fix the problem, I have go somewhere else to fix my car, come back to check again, another $9.00, i went another shop to check, PASSED. read more

Super quick, lowest price in the area, and professional. What more can you ask from a smog check place? read more

Just noticed a 2 year old message from the owner "Mohammed N" in my Yelp inbox. Would've ignored it, except it was so professionally written, I had to share. Here's his word for word text, that I've censored for the kids: "I thought you'd shut up you f*****g little worm, f*****g cheap basard. my d**k which is about the same size as you is free, there's charge for everything else especially for a**holes like you.. don't ever come over here againg supid f**k" (sic) This was his unsolicited message to me, after I wrote my first review. Imagine having to deal with this kind of behavior in person, while he has your car as ransom. read more

So, I stopped by without an appointment and was able to get my car in immediately. The guy at the front had me fill out my paperwork and pulled my car into the bay for testing. He was very professional and got the test done quickly. After he completed the test he pulled my vehicle out front. So far, so good. When he came back in, he said "Your car passed." I said "Outstanding." He responded with "So's your mom's pussy." I just laughed it off because it was all I could do to not reach out and slam his head on the counter. He then made some comment about being half Cherokee, which Mohammed is CLEARLY not. At any rate, I can't tell you how many shops there are in the Burlingame area that do smog tests, but I can tell you one that includes a guy that is bound to get his ass kicked if he opens his mouth to the wrong person. I have no intention of going back and I wouldn't recommend anyone else goes either. Not with that ass clown and his mouth. read more

Came here this morning with an 830 appt. Went to hand my DMV smog check slip to the guy there and he said "are you blind?" I said huh? He said again "are you blind?" and pointed to the barrier I was apparently not supposed to cross. I just looked at him surprised at how rude he was to me right off the bat. (Funny, I thought I was being helpful.) It took me a second to shake it off but then I asked him for the form back and he said "are you gonna get lost?" I said "yeah, if you're gonna be rude then screw you" and left. What a douche with a chip on his shoulder. Would never recommend this place. And I was having such a nice morning too. Anyway, I drove a few blocks down the street to Harold's Automotive and whaddaya know? They actually greeted and treated me with courtesy. Boy that goes a long way. In summary, down with AA+ Smog and their rude angry service person. Up with Harold's Automotive with simple good natured customer service. Thanks for reading. read more

Like I told the owner after I left his shop this morning...I will NEVER bring back any of my vehicles here EVER again!! I found a $29.75 smog coupon for his shop in my local Pennysaver mailer. I called him last week to ask him what my out the door price would be for my year, make, and model. He told me "$29.75 + $5 extra for being a light duty truck + $8.25 DMV certificate/transfer fee= $43 out the door." I show up this morning at 8:15am and his shop is still closed. The hours listed on his door clearly state that he opens at "8am." Red Flag# 1- He doesn't show up until 8:25am and says, "I open at different times each day depending on when the sun comes out and when it gets lighter out." Red Flag# 2- I provide him with my DMV paperwork and the coupon I clipped out from the Pennysaver. He immediately says, "$10 more for your vehicle." I quickly remind him of the pricing that he quoted me last week, reminding him that he stated "$5 more." He then says, "Is your truck automatic or manual, if it's manual than that's why it should be $10 more." He agrees to charge the extra $5 and not $10, but it took insistence on my part to make that happen. The fact that he can't be consistently honest with his pricing, should have made me walk away! The truth of the matter is this, If he can see an opportunity to up-charge, HE WILL! Red Flag# 3- While he's performing my Smog test, a friend of mine texts me a coupon for a shop also in Burlingame that is offering smog testing for $26.70 + $8.25 certificate/transfer fee for 1996 and newer vehicles. Once he is done with my test, I show him the coupon, and I ask him if he will price match. He says, "No I don't do price matches here! That's for 2000 and newer cars only [which isn't true...all he had to do was read the coupon]...my rent here is probably more than that guy's rent." Red Flag# 4- He rings me up for $29.75 + $5 + $8.25....BUT ADDS $2 electronic transfer fee!!! All the other smog shops I've gone to in the past charge $8.25 for the certificate and electronic transfer fees combined! So again, seeing the chance to up-charge, he nickel and dime's me for another $2! Total out the door cost ends up being $45! Don't wast your time! Seriously, I've warned you. Go to PRO-SMOGS in Burlingame instead!! They offer a coupon online on their website for $26.70 + $8.25 and that's it! No up-charges, no hidden fees, no AA Smog tactical inconsistent pricing! I called PRO-SMOGS and the owner there confirmed that my out the door price for my vehicle would have been $34.95! That's a $10 savings ($10.05 savings to be exact)!! DO NOT GO TO AA SMOG. read more

smog check time. had a coupon for 29.99 and after labor and certificate, it cost me 40$ exactly. it was fast. got in and out in 20 minutes. there was one person ahead of me who was also doing smog check. its a one car garage. he pulls the car in. sets up the smog check. gives you certificate and you on your way for another year of registration. done and done. no complaints here. i think i'll come back every time i need one. read more

The gentleman at this shop has the worst customer service ever! He was very rude to me and then said he wouldn't smog my van because I used his bathroom without asking. I will never bring any of my vehicles there again. Very bad experience over all... read more

We had a terrible experience here. The technician didn't inform us that we couldn't pass the smog check until after collecting our money. We will not return to this business. There are plenty of other transparent, up-front, and honest locations in the area that look for genuine customer satisfaction not a quick buck. read more

You don't want to go here. They will find problems and then offer to look into the problems for alot of extra cash. Avoid this place.

Great experience. Owner called me back immediately, took my car in quickly, and efficiently filled out forms - smogged car -- and took coupon. FAST and EASY. Im sending my husband and friends! read more

every so often, the nuisance referred to as the DMV requires us to perform smog tests. i just don't have that much time in my day to deal with these inconveniences. lucky for me, i found AA+ on yelp. the perfect 5 star reviews do not lie. i went to their website, printed a coupon. drove to the shop and the friendly owner navigated my car onto the wheel rolling machine. i was in and out in 15 minutes. not only did i save time, i saved money too. and time is money! read more

Wel...you got it wrong again since I`m not "a man" but a lady (sic). THANK YOU for sharing wit us your story and just revealing the fact that other patrons are not happy with your business.FYI, you asked me to sell you my car that was getting smogged and when I said "no" you kept going on about how many things need to be fixed on it and I`d be better with a new car.Rings a bell now ? Anyway...local DMV Investigation Unit will be informed about your self-proclaimed legality to buy-sell cars without a license to do so, soooooo.... expect the local DMV inspector to pay you a visit soon...I sure hope that the "I buy cars" sign doesn`t go down when they show up at your door.Let me know how it went. PS.: Save some money for the penalty fee ... it`s pretty high...:). read more

My wife found a coupon to go here for a smog check for $29.75. When I got there, the guy said there was an extra $10 charge for a star check. I said that wasn't stated anywhere on the coupon. He said yes it was, so I showed him the coupon. He looked and looked and finally said "See?" while pointing at where it said the cost was $29.75 'for most cars'. I said, "So? My car is part of 'most cars (I brought in a 2000 Honda Civic)'". He just looked at me and said the cost was $39.75 for my car. I drove out of my way from Pacifica to get there, so I just told him to go ahead and do it, but I hate it when I feel someone was dishonest with me. The coupon should have just stated there was an extra charge. Instead, it just said they were star certified. read more

Very quick, in and out in 15 minutes with my online certification. $50, better than I saw anywhere else. Perfect!

I felt Mohammed was very truthful in buying our car. I found him to be candid, pleasant easy to work with.

There are 3 things that are important in a smog check: 1) your car passes, 2) they do it quickly, and 3) it is cheap. Well, my car passed. I made an appointment and after I showed up the owner said it would take 15 minutes. It only took 10. And with the coupon available on their website, the total with taxes and fees was only $45. Not the biggest or fanciest place, but I was thoroughly satisfied. read more

Had a smog retest. For no reason at all owner yells at me to take f...king coffee cup off counter. Shockingly I complied. On top of it he called me a f..king fish. Very racist!! Later he explained I didn't say good morning. He said I said hey only. No apologies. I politely let him do the retest (very shocked unable to think clearly) and later explained didn't pass. Different codes appeared than last time. Very odd. I'll complaint to the better business bureau. I found it very racist and threatening. read more

I have never written a review and I don't do so unless i'm really upset or very pleased, and I was very pleased. I was slightly reluctant to take my car after reading some reviews, but I did anyhow due to the availability. Upon arrival the gentleman was extremely nice and helpful and began immediately. I appreciate individuals who get straight to what is needed and I was in an out in about 15-20 min. I highly recommend this place because I believe he deserves the business. read more

I went to the AA+ Smog because of its Yelp ratings. So I had high expectations. I was pleased that the comments on Yelp were so true. My beloved 1997 4Runner (I am the original owner) failed the test for the first time. Mohammed explained to me what may have caused the borderline number in one category while other all statistics were excellent. I decided to run the second test based on his analysis. It did pass the second test. He suggested me to check two possible causes for the borderline numbers. That I will do and have it fixed before too long. He is very professional and trustworthy. Several repair places tried to take advantage of me, "dumb middle aged women," despite the fact that I am mechanically inclined (I used to work on my own racing motorbikes). I can trust this place. read more
