When I explained to Michelle (the owner) what I needed and showed her a picture of what I wanted to have made, she said she would do a little research and see if she would be able to make the orange blossom flowers to put on my cake pops. She got back to me with in an hour or so and had a plan for making them. She was even able to have them made for me within the timeline I needed. Michelle's communication with me was exceptional and I always felt like she sincerely wanted to help me and provide me with a beautiful product. And they were truly beautiful, delicate little flowers and leaves. They were just what I needed to make my little "cuties" cake pops look adorable. (Requested a 8" cake) Here were the instructions and a singular photo as an example for a quote per her request. Half German chocolate, chocolate cream frosting. Half lemon with raspberry filling and your cream cheese frosting. Slanted, not straight down the middle. Frosting no more than 1/4 in. Edible flowers pressed in and some sitting on the cake too. Long story short. She used that singular picture as an example to go off of. Ignored the instructions provided in text and her form that she asked I filled out. She only used the first picture sent as a reference. Then said I was lying when I said there was no German chocolate filling. It's a shame. Great flavors. When we tried to get a wedding cake from her a couple years ago we chose her because her flavors are great. Miscommunications and misunderstandings happen. There were mistakes on both ends, I owned mine (sending a picture that didn't accurately, in totality, depict what I wanted), but she made excuses and said I was lying. In our day's Sunnyslope business, our niece took us to Kris Frybread. Arriving we saw Dawn's. She said Dawn's gets high ratings too. After our excellent Kris meal I made my way to Dawn's. I am infamous in the family for my dessert rxtravagance. But I share with all at our table. Take your choice! Our niece got cannoli, I got lidded shortbread custard cups, vanilla and almond. Sweet D got a cherry and an apple turnover delivered into the box. It is five days later. My sugar intake has dropped a lot. In our home baking we cut sugar ingredients by half. Older Hopi bakers put in enough sugar for a hint of sweet in their cookies. Modern bakers glaze them. I'll take those traditional ones. When I say the shortbread cup with custard was too sweet for me, that's my 21st century palate speaking. The almond cup was a buy-again item for me, still sweet, very almond. The cherry turnover was flaky, the filling tart, oozing fillng and cherries. The gold medal, blue ribbon "I'd buy this again, for sure is the apple turnover.
