I am a DFW General Contractor and have worked with the largest professional Equipment Rental houses in the metroplex such as Sunbelt Rentals, United Rentals, Herc Rentals, etc. I visited AA Rental for the first time ever to rent a 1CY Concrete Towable Mixer. The sales rep Joe Zetina quoted me for the piece and the materials. This included rental of the piece, the equipment, and a rate of $20 per every hour the unit was on rent. The concrete was quoted at $195/CY which is almost double what we pay for large scale concrete suppliers with quality mix and data to backup the consistency. I was also asked to place a $100 deposit which I willfully did so. The person who was operating the concrete mixing plant was not careful when mixing the materials and added way too much water to the mix. As soon as I noticed I told him to stop adding water. The guy simply told me that "that's how they always mix it" and "they don't guarantee anything on the mix." I went to pour the mix out and brought it right back. When I walked in the sales rep asked me if I cleaned the unit and I informed him that we washed it out at the site and probably had a handful of rock in it. They told me that I could take it to wash it again or they would charge my card. I showed the rep my invoice and told him there was no cleaning fee quoted nor was I informed about any type of cleaning instructions for the unit. He told me then they will just charge your card. I replied by stating that if he did that I would call my bank and inform them that unauthorized fees outside my rental contract would be charged by that company.
As I was walking out a gentlemen standing in the room walked up to me and yelled "Get over here! and let me tell you something to make things clear! If you don't want to man up and do it I will call every store and make sure you cannot rent at any of my rental yards and mark you as undesirable!!" Take into account that he was probably 1-2 feet away from me at this point.
At this point I assumed he was the Owner of these rental houses and told him "I don't care, please, take your unit off of my truck now."
I walked out of this place upset that any Owner of a company would try to intimidate a CLIENT with that type of attitude and language. The way he spoke to me felt like harassment and I was going to call the police if he stepped anywhere closer than he was.
I wish I could give negative stars.
If you are a professional, stick to professional vendors. Do not waste your time and resources at this type of abusive and unprofessional business. Nothing would make right how they treat good people. read more
