We recently got Vivint home security. After 3 service calls during the first week following our…read moreinstallation, the system is now performing as expected. I was starting to regret my decision to go with Vivint because of the technology problems. We had signal strength problems and a couple of repeaters had to be installed to make the system work. We also had issues with the outside cameras not recording. Finally the most recent technician was able to correct the problems As for customer service, Vivint was attentive and made follow up phone calls to ensure I was satisfied. The technicians were all very professional, and worked hard to troubleshoot. The technicians were puzzled by the problems we had. Some problems were related to software updates. The field technicians seemed to be more knowledgeable than the techs on the phone. We're still evaluating our satisfaction with this system. Perhaps as time goes by I'll feel more confident in the system. For now I give it 3 stars. I don't know which store the Vivint technicians came from, but they were great!

A few of my other employees had been complaining that their keys weren't easy to turn, so I decided on the last day to just get the locks redone. Barrier was willing to come out the same day, even though they had a full schedule, which I appreciated despite the extra fee for the late appointment (which was my own fault for waiting so long). The best part came a little later, when they called me back and told me the good news: in a rare event, one of their appointments had canceled and they were on their way much earlier than expected. Even though I had already agreed to the charges, they did not collect the late appointment fee and just charged me the normal rate, which appreciated. Not every company would have been so honest. Shaun came and had us up and running quickly. He was really nice and super professional: my receipt was emailed to me within five minutes of him leaving the store! I plan on using Barrier every time I need new locks.

Then PAV helped me find B&W speakers, and then transported them to my home in Potomac, Md., brought them in and installed them, along with a Yamaha receiver that they recommended and sold me. Again, all at very fair prices and with a high level of competence. These speakers are remarkable--about 250 pounds apiece. I would recommend PAV for any sort of audio-video job where you want deep expertise to help you through the thicket of the complexity of equipment choice, the trickiness of installation, and someone to deal with you with complete integrity.
